Welcome to my video channel where I will be adding videos from my travels around the world.
I'm a sometime photographer: I mainly shoot classic, classy, artistic nude and fetish images as well as catwalk, commercial and performance images. If you're interested, you can see some examples at RHM.Photo
I've been published in various magazines over the years, mainly in Easyriders, In The Wind and Back Street Heroes, back in the days when I shot on Ilford HP4 film and Kodachrome 64 for slides/transparencies and your payment was sent by a US Dollar cheque (or should that be "check"?).
This channel is complementary to my Instagram account - @RHMPhotographic - which has some of my safe for work images and will no doubt have some teasers from this RU-vid account.
It will almost certainly feature my motorbikes and car: an Abarth 124 Spider, a BMW R 1250 RT LE and a Kawasaki ZRX1200R.
The motorcyclist has to take a lot of blame here. There are arrows indicating to keep left and the bike rider is ignoring them and overtaking. Personally, if there is any turn off on the road, i would not overtake which has kept me on the bike since 1979 without an incident. I am 70 now and have 4 bikes. One is a Triumph Rocket 111 and a Thunderbird LT plus 2 old bikes. There are videos of the old Triumph on my channel. Nasty accident and you are lucky to be here. I did have a big bump in 1979 and the insurer paid out enough to buy me a house and new car. I have a lot of pain still and had an operation 25 years after the accident to fix my knee. Hence the large payout due to problems lasting 45 years so far. I can barely walk now but can still ride
Great video. Aside from the beautiful scenery your video also revealed the appealing performance of BMW’s lack lister navigation system. A yr ago at age 62 I moved away from Adventure bike riding to touring riding by trading my 2021 Africa Twin for a 2022 R1250RT. I absolutely love the BMW it would instantly trade the nav system for the Africa Twins Apple Car Play. Apple car play never once let me down while riding the numerous back roads and highland hills of Ontario Canada. I now routinely put my trust in Google maps on my cell phone, never an issue but it would be great to see the map on the large BMW screen. Come on BMW get your act together.
I totally agree. Given that BMW have CarPlay on their cars, why can't they include it on their motorcycles? I swear by Waze on my iPhone and with CarPlay whenever I've used a car with it.
Ride a 2015 BMW RT and had an opportunity to ride my friends 2023 RT. The bike felt a little more balanced and the exhaust note was a little deeper in the bike, and of course the TFT was amazing. The only thing I would like is for the NAV to have a satellite connection understanding you lose connectivity in the U.S. where’s there’s no coverage via the cell carriers.
Definitely. When I drove the PCH a couple of years ago, I relied on my iPhone and Waze for navigation and was amazed at just how poor cellular coverage is in the US.
So you say; "as it did twice that day". Than you are a real lucky guy! Only twice a disruptive connected app. My installation does not function twice every quarter.
@@RichardHMorris Yesterday I did a short tour (125km) with an Android. Smoothly. When I got home I grabbed the iPhone and drove the same route again. With six faults. One time the app stopped completely. Other times the connection was lost and restored a short time later. I don't understand why owners with this problem aren't all rebelling against BMW.
You are almost at the headquarters, just ask the CEO to upgrade the app and allow all the Connected app users enjoy Apple CarPlay 🙂 I would be thankfull ;-) ps: I am seriously considering to install my old Zumo XT on my 1 year old RT. But BMW should be a shame!!!
When the nav is in full screen mode hit the jog wheel to the left, you then scroll up and down to zoom in and out, once you’ve got the required view you can then return to split screen
Hey there, Rich. One of my questions I intend asking my local motorrad dealer concerns the integration of the sat nav on the bike. I've read and heard accounts that there are problems. As an owner of a BMW car, my question is why would the navigation be inferior by comparison on the bike? Have you got it working to your satisfaction? If there have been updates, I wonder if they'll be available retrospectively for 2023 models. Any thoughts? Cheers, Bourne.
It's a good question for them and I'm pleased I don't have that comparison to make. Why not simply have CarPlay on the RT? It's a no-brainer, surely? The BMW Connected App needs both Bluetooth and a wireless connection between the phone and bike to work and does not have any "safety camera" alerts for supposedly dangerous sections of road, rather than getting prompts from Waze or Maps, etc. It also drops out from time to time. BMW: JUST ENABLE CARPLAY!
Well, as I live and breathe! None other than himself pops up on my RU-vid feed. Due entirely because I've been looking at BMW motorrad offerings and currently quite interested in the R1250LT. I'm glad you're back on 2 wheels and sounding healthy and well. Love, Dino 🦖
The dealership has made ypur plate up incorrectly. It shoukd be 8000 RM. As displayed it is misrepresented and indicates 800 ORM. The standard size plare can take 4 characters on one line as most plates have 7 characters. I would get them to change that for you asap. Cracking bike BTW
You'll love it! I wasn't speeding on purpose but if I had accidentally and momentarily had an extremely slight excess of speed, I wouldn't want to find this used against me, especially having shown the registration plate.
I thought the Akra would be noisier, but it doesn't seem to make that much difference? I have a full Akra system on my Kawasaki ZRX1200R and love it. Looks wise, your Akra really will look good! I stayed away from the 719 Options list, partly because I needed a shorty clutch lever due to finger amputations and my gloves now getting trapped, and sadly the 719 Options don't seem to include one. So Wunderlich got that gig along with the side stand base enlarger.
Bloody hell I really thought you'd bought it there. A reminder to us all to treat other motorists as idiots. I guess you mainly stick to 4 wheels now?!
not sure if your showing the car or a close up of your head, wrong road to show this car, sweeping mountain roads would be best but that would mean going out of the M25
Well, Richard, I think you may have you months mixed up. There's no way you did that ride in June with that much snow on the ground. I'v been to Andorra several times. Twice to go snow sking. An 3 other times to check on a house that I was planing on buying. By May all the snow is gone. This was most likely shot in Last February or March. But still nice video coming into Pas de las Casas.
Well unless I was mysteriously transported there without my knowledge - along with my friends - you're completely wrong. It was indeed June 2013 when I was in the Pyrenees: see my blog entry here www.zrx1200r.com/2013/06/12/ear-popping-pyrenees/
I have a feeling the guys I was with did that on the day I was getting tyres fitted in Andorra. I've not been there before, but I don't think that's the usual!
Wow! There wasn't a flake of snow up there on either of the occasions I've been up there in July - Is that kind of snow in June normal?? If you'd gone the other way from Andorra towards Barcelona, you'd have found the epic N152 Collada de Tosas, which I think is the finest road I've ever ridden!!
Back then it was actually running stock intake - jets and airbox - just a slip-on Akra: see the video of it on the mobile dyno at Brands from the following summer.
Seen the dyno chart for 'May 2011' on your website. Impressive results. There has been questions about the accuracy of the Dyno at the Ace. Tho not far off results from both. So it's gas flowed (Stage 1 with K&N or similar), full exhaust system, and Dymags, (I glean from my limited knowledge ;) ). Would recommend (a small easy mod) titanium disc bolts all round and sprocket nuts as you now know the advantages of light weight wheels.
