My name is Hope Taylor and I am a wedding photographer, educator and speaker located in Savannah, GA. I began building my business as a 16 year old high school student, and made the decision to pursue my business full time directly out of high school (and I revoked a college admission in the process...this is just the cliff notes version) ;) Now, I am a full time photographer and business owner with the privilege of pursuing my dreams each and every day. I travel the world to photograph weddings and speak at industry leading events, and this channel is where you can follow along with my adventures! I am so honored that you're here!
Do you typically edit all photos before uploading to the client gallery? Or do you use the gallery for them to choose their selected photos, then edit only those, and then reupload for them to purchase?
This is why i feel men dont have a chance with certain genre because i could never be this chipper but i know it makes the client feel so happy... im so mono toned.
This biggest issue I have with this approach, is that using a bounce reflector from below is not showing how light naturally works. The main light source here is the sun filtering through the clouds. It would be more realistic if the reflector was being held/clamped from above. One could also, if the equipment was available, mount a speedlight on a stand and have a helper hold a diffusion panel in front of it. Again, this would have to come down towards the subject to look the most natural.
I cannot tell you how much this video helped me. I was about to give up and use Tave and this video made me fall in love with Honeybook. And your code worked for me!! Thank you again!
I have been so resistant to newsletters and entering into this space but I actually loved your video and learned a lot. Thank you! Actually excited now to write my welcome email. And it's going to be so much better now.
This was especially nice to see as it’s a very feminine set-up. I’ve been watching tons of RU-vid videos on lighting / studio setups and most are very techie, dark, masculine setups - which look great, but not really my brand. Nice job! Oh- and it’s good to know (although disappointing!) that my Canon 7D or MK III aren’t going to be the greatest cameras to use.
Just curious, how much caffeine do you drink before a shoot? It's exhausting watching this ... And the high pitched voice... Seriously hurts my ears. No doubt some good information, but damn... I can't do it I'm sorry...
I don’t mean it bad but I’m really surprised that people actually pay for that it looks like an iPhone picture no background blur just minimum retouching and artificial positions which many people may consider not being represented by but apparently there is a market for that in your area :)
I can assure you that the Canon R6 and L series lenses do not create images that look like an iPhone and absolutely have background blur and retouching :) thanks for watching!
Do you have just one master email list or do you have categories based on the content they want? (Trying to figure out how to have a wedding list and a separate boudoir list if possible!)
I personally only have one - but you can absolutely segment your list! The easiest way, in my opinion, is to add the desired tag to each subscriber based on how they enter your list - then send emails to only the people with the correct tag :)
Hey Hope! Do you still use this app for Instagram and have you started using the pre-scheduled posts at all? I have been using a different app but having trouble with it so my instagram game is not great - needing to up it for sure!!
The only reason im looking at CloudSpot is because HoneyBook is not available outside of US & Canada 😭 hopefully CloudSpot can fill what I need as a freelance Photographer or maybe even soon a hybrid of photog&videog. Thanks for these kind od videos!
Hi there! Thank you for sharing this video. I'm excited to streamline my workload/editing time using Imagen, however, I keep running into issues trying to import my Lightroom Catalog. It shows the total photos, but shows 0 for filtered, citing the image files are jpeg or tiff. I shoot in raw and jpeg, but also, if its importing from the catalog im just not sure what im doing wrong. I have tried exporting the catalog with and without the smart previews. Do you have any idea what I might be missing or doing wrong? Thank you for your help!
"I'll just leave it right here cuz we're just going a couple steps" Proceeds to walk an eternity away from her bag lol. Where you shoot must have zero crime. In most places if you went far from your belongings for even 5 minutes, you'd never see them again. Great vid, though. It was great seeing you interact with Jasmine. You genuinely seem to love shooting and that's great to see. Great stuff.
It's interesting that you're shooting in front of houses, because it's Charleston. Here in San Diego people always go to the park or lake or beach. I like to take pictures of houses, so I think this is neat. Just not something I've seen. I'm still watching, now you're at the beach! lol
