So nice to see a local photographer here on RU-vid. We are blessed with so many great shooting areas in and around Charleston. Me and my wife come into Charleston regularly from Goose Creek, and love shooting in these areas. Perhaps one day we might run into you near Charleston place or the battery! ☺️👍📸

Hope, Im going to take my step son's senior photos in a couple weeks. I was hoping you would send me the link to the editing software you use. I'm so nervous and want to do this right.

This is so exciting! I use Lightroom Classic to edit and you can get it here: www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/campaign/pricing.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAzc2tBhA6EiwArv-i6dGWVAEGwzWdtxMSm5VvXgANjIBmXA0CA9jQCpHc5I-ZDr1U5IavcBoC4IIQAvD_BwE&sdid=KKTJE&mv=search&ef_id=CjwKCAiAzc2tBhA6EiwArv-i6dGWVAEGwzWdtxMSm5VvXgANjIBmXA0CA9jQCpHc5I-ZDr1U5IavcBoC4IIQAvD_BwE:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!3085!3!677050899108!e!!g!!classic%20lightroom!1712238382!67643557860&mv=search&gad_source=1

Is kelvin white balance just used for cloudy days or will it work during golden hour as well?
@HopeTaylor
@HopeTaylor 5 месяцев назад
Kelvin is essentially like "manual mode" for your white balance - it will work anywhere and I highly recommend it!

Have you ever worked with a 35mm? Thats what I’ve been using but it’s so hard to know if I should switch to a 50.
@HopeTaylor
@HopeTaylor 7 месяцев назад
I have! I used a 35mm pretty regularly on wedding days, but I personally prefer the 50mm for seniors. I find that the 35mm creates some warping/distortion for any images that are closer than full body.

Is it not better and more practical to invest in 28-70 instead if you use f2.5 anyway ?
@HopeTaylor
@HopeTaylor 6 месяцев назад
Not necessarily - it completely depends on your style and preference! I prefer the sharpness of prime lenses :)

I have the 50mm 1.8 Is that still good to take my sons portraits?
@HopeTaylor
@HopeTaylor 5 месяцев назад
Absolutely! I used that lens for a long time :)

Why bother with white balance if you're shooting in raw? You have full control over the WB in lightroom and can adjust it however you want.

It saves me a ton of time on editing to get it as accurate as possbile in camera!
