Nuclear reactor is a big battery? Ballast tanks likened to ballons? What a bunch of horse- hockey... I dont know where they got their facts, but you have to throw them all away, and start using real facts. And dont call me crazy, because i build them...
The older I get the more I simply can not stand stupid people. So this whole thing was a real magic week or so for me. The idiot that made it and (mostly) idiots who paid him to kill them. God it was awesome. Of course I don’t want people to die. But no I don’t feel bad when you’re so stunningly stupid and ignore hundreds if not thousands of experts trying to warn you. This was a rare instance where you have no reason to feel for this moron. He knew this was extremely likely and didn’t care.
As I said before, don't go down in a plastic submarine. Rush did it Chinese style. "Proper materials? We don't need no proper materials!" Later... "THUNK!"
Knocking noises no way They didn't realise how much danger they were In one second they were alive then in a nanny second they were dead The navey knew they were dead soon as it happened
Here's the problem with videos saying they have "new information" on the Titan. There is no new information!!!! Here's the totality of the Titan. Descended way too fast. A crackling noise was reported. They attempted with no luck to ascend. The Titan imploded and the crew was vaporized. There is no new information and NEVER will be!!!
“Imploded without warning”??! They had plenty of warning. Experts all over the world warned them that it was not safe. Also the loud popping and banging of what was most likely carbon fiber threads breaking was another warning. And there were a lot more. The game controller is frequently brought up, but ironically that was probably one of the safer things of the whole operation. The whole problem was the hubris of the person in charge who thought he knew more than all the experts and thought he was a good engineer - who didn’t know the difference between compressive strength and tensile strength. There are a lot more errors made in the design but suffice to say it was a accident waiting to happen. It is surprising it took as long as it did to happen. This presentation offers nothing new that was not slteady put out over a year ago. Clickbait.
Nobody ever considers that the portal window was only rated for 1500 meters and the titanic was 3800. Maybe they found it intact, but I've never heard it discussed. It more than anything shows Rush' blatant disregard for safety. I think he had a death wish. He wanted to be famous to live up to his forefathers. He kind of accomplished it, though infamy and fame are not really synonymous.
Just the fact that you were bolted in that thing from the outside and with absolutely no way to escape, would have been enough for me to say no. I can’t think of anything more terrifying than that, even if it was never even put in the water.
Why did they use carbon fiber? “Carbon fiber can be difficult to detect signs of damage that indicate it's about to fail. When it does fail, it can shatter suddenly and catastrophically, unlike other materials that bend or buckle. If damaged, it needs to be replaced instead of repaired like metal. Carbon fiber's complex fiber architecture can make stress analysis and design more difficult. Designers and analysts may need formal training in areas like finite element analysis, polymer engineering, and fracture mechanics.”
The damage to the carbon fiber was accumulative every time it dived it lost some strength. They heard popping sounds on previous dives. With carbon fiber compression is not its best situation. Air tanks are often made with carbon fiber but the force is tension not compression. Stockton Rush was over confidant and did not take instruction from other people it's too bad he had to take others with him. He should have been alone in that tank.
Ya know? I think it might be safe for 1 (one) go. Actually, I would have googled deep sea submersibles, and would have found that the others were all similar in pressure hulls, and that this one wasn't made of the right stuff.
Terrible video title, anyone who thinks Somali pirates would even have a chance to gaze eyes upon a US Submarine knows nothing about our navy or how submaries operate.
Bullshit on the blue hearts. Even the tiniest fraction of the money spent trying to recover wreckage and remains of rich folks we ALREADY KNEW WERE DEAD would change the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. Hubris and more money than sense led to 5people flaunting physics and trying to dive to the bottom of the ocean like “heroes” taking along hapless victims (such as Sulemon). And think about how that recovery funding could have saved people drowning elsewhere such as the hundreds of Pakistanis that drowned in the med when a migrant vessel sank that very same week. But nooo, let’s “remember” these rich idiots that chose to take their wealth on a side quest and get imploded instead of helping people so poor that they risk an overcrowded boat to find a better life.
I would like to know if the Rubik's Cube survived the implosion, it would be just as famous as the rich Non-Thinkers that boarded the cardboard toilet roll. 🖤👎🖤👎🖤👎🖤👎🖤👎
That's what's crazy. If our own navy is willing to use game controllers to operate whatever the situation is like as if its a game, that nullifies its profession in my opinion. Playing life as a game only causes karma
When I was 11 years old, I'm 58 now, I had made two model submarines from household items for a school project. I used plastic pipe for the hull and I then glued pop can bottoms has end caps on each end. Long story short when I demonstrated in front of my science class in an aquarium, the end caps came off while submerged. True story.
Not sure how solving a Rubiks Cube makes you a “daring explorer”……….but it’s probably similar to how they weren’t “passengers” they were “crewmen” 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Anyone who has a fishing rod would know carbon fibre is BRITAL. SO just stick with metals like platinum throughout and the death of the crew and sub would not have happened
The Navy used to use SOSUS Sound Surveillance System which could have identified the sounds location, but it was shut down and replaced with something much better and more reliable.
