We already know what the U.S. Navy discovered around the time of the incident. They had sonar & sound readings of an implosion @ the time, depth & general location of the Ocean Gate sub Titan. The real tragedy of this is the people he deceived into thinking its safe. So they would give him money & sign their lives over. If he was the only one in that sub when it imploded, i would have more respect for him. People would say " at least he went out doing what he loved". He would of still been called a dummy, irresponsible etc but people wouldnt hate him & call him a scammer.

Whatsmore, some very rich people couldn't be bothered to do an internet search of safe submersible characteristics and realize this wasn't a solid piece of titanium hollowed out and was little more than a plastic tube with a couple of metal caps glued onto each end. The damage to the carbon fiber was accumulative every time it dived it lost some strength. They heard popping sounds on previous dives. With carbon fiber compression is not its best situation. Air tanks are often made with carbon fiber but the force is tension not compression. Stockton Rush was over confidant and did not take instruction from other people it's too bad he had to take others with him. He should have been alone in that tank.

Why did they use carbon fiber? “Carbon fiber can be difficult to detect signs of damage that indicate it's about to fail. When it does fail, it can shatter suddenly and catastrophically, unlike other materials that bend or buckle. If damaged, it needs to be replaced instead of repaired like metal. Carbon fiber's complex fiber architecture can make stress analysis and design more difficult. Designers and analysts may need formal training in areas like finite element analysis, polymer engineering, and fracture mechanics.”

“Imploded without warning”??! They had plenty of warning. Experts all over the world warned them that it was not safe. Also the loud popping and banging of what was most likely carbon fiber threads breaking was another warning. And there were a lot more. The game controller is frequently brought up, but ironically that was probably one of the safer things of the whole operation. The whole problem was the hubris of the person in charge who thought he knew more than all the experts and thought he was a good engineer - who didn’t know the difference between compressive strength and tensile strength. There are a lot more errors made in the design but suffice to say it was a accident waiting to happen. It is surprising it took as long as it did to happen. This presentation offers nothing new that was not slteady put out over a year ago. Clickbait.

Trieste was designed by Swiss engineer Auguste Piccard and built by Italian Acciaierie Terni. It was BOUGHT by United States Navy. Notice the distinctive lack of involvement in designing or building. You Americans really tend to gobble up the credits. Even its name the "TRIESTE" - you know just a major city in Italy - should hint at that. But no - it's a US Navyyy vessel built by some imagined company.

Exactly correct. Mr Piccard built it right. The US Navy just bought it.

If this is about Oceangates Titan.... it wasn`t a SUBMARINE it was a SUBMERSABLE ok. Look up the difference and stop producing misleading videos. I didnt bother to watch this stooopid vid, but I would wager that there were many other misleading comments and assertions made that are JUST NOT TRUE.

The Navy heard banging. It is my belief that one or more escaped the Titan right before the explosion and found an air pocket in the Titanic and was trying to signal for rescue.

If there were 4 hours worth of tapping noises not attributable to non-human sources, how could it have been an implosion?
