Man, I love this interview! I'm from Sapulpa and watched this man and his brother absolutely put on shows! With drivers like them and John Hunt, it was awesome times as a fan
I wish I had a million bucks sitting around to spend. I would bring Jac out of retirement and set him up with 5 complete engines, 4 complete rollers, & 4 complete rear ends. And a few spare wings of course. Then let him race whatever track however much He wants. Just so myself and thousands of others can enjoy watching him compete in the newest and best stuff out there.
That's just crazy! Jim rathman Chevrolet in Melbourne Florida. I stopped in there And talked to them a d and they asked me if I knew Bobby Allen. I said no not. Really but my brother built some engines he ran. Outta gaerte engines shop. I had no idea they had a connection. Damn it .I should have checked into better. I lost 5 years of my sons life because I came back to Indiana. But I probably learned more in that 5 years I could have ever learned in my life. I learned how to be me. Thank you God .
Priceless interview!!! It’s refreshing to hear honesty about what it takes to makes these races. Folks act like if you ain’t got tons of money don’t even try it but this man has given folks hope to make it until they do have the money. Good ole boys still wanna see folks racing and as long as you keep your word they’ll do you right.
I was at eagle raceway back in 2017 or 8 Jack and shots went at it for eagle Nationals and hell of a race but wild child ended up winning both nights because they called wild child and wow he's always been my driver same as Dallas cowboys
Great interview guy did a great job , hope you have many more I’ll be looking for them. And Bobby Allen good luck beating this , a great man and racer . God bless you both and I’ll be forward to your next one, maybe Doug Wolfgang ?
I grew up in Miami and remember Bobby well. I raced karts along with Bobby and watched him race the 1/2 midgets on Sundays on a track they set up on an empty parking lot on LeJune Road across from the airport. We recall his Dad, Joe, was doing everything he could to groom Bobby to be a big time racer. Bobby never won the Indy 500, but a lot of big time racers never did either. These interviews are golden and I wish only the best for Shark Racing.
In 1988 i was at Eldora when Doty got hurt and i have to say i have never seen a faster car run at Eldora to this day Then Brad Doty that day. He was lapping cars in his heat race which back then was not done at Eldora. But man i have never seen a car that hooked up at Eldora. Doty was going to stomp them in that A-main
Listening to this guy announce for the last couple of years without ever seeing him he sounds to me to be a little autistic. Seeing him on here for the first time and watching his mannerisms, I’m quite confident he falls somewhere on the spectrum. And there’s nothing at all wrong with that. More power to him!
Grew up in So-Calif & have a great friend from San Berdo name of Dave West. Dave & I raced together & ran the streets together for many years. He is a Master race mechanic who worked for Ed Pink & later for Keith Black. I always since about 1980 was a Kinser fan & always proclaimed him the best. Dave would always shake his head & say "Nope, Bubby Allen is the best" don't know why, but he always called him Bubby & so for quite awhile I thought Bubby was his name! 😂 Dave was a high strung guy & always kinda grumpy, but the happiest I ever saw him was when Scruffy Won Knoxville 😃!! I certainly got an ear full of "I told you so" after that night 😆 Haven't seen Dave since I left Cali & that life style in 92, but I hope he's doing well 🙏 Great to see this interview with The Legendary Scruffy Allen, really happy he's still kick'n! Thanks for posting this 💪😎👍
Two truly Great driver's & Legend's no doubt. Doty is great talking in front of crowd's & telling racing stories 👍 I bought my youngest Son one of Jac's wild child tee's when I took my oldest Son to a WoO race outside Albuquerque NM, my youngest loved that tee & wore it till it was atleast 2 sizes too small! He's almost 21 now, but that shirt has been tac'd to my bedroom wall for many years now 🤔...😃! Come to think of it, the Kinser shirt I bought my oldest that night is in my dresser drawer now too! 😂 Good memories, Good times for sure 😊👍 Thanks for posting this, really enjoyed it 💪😎
My fondest memories... racing wise ...was going to syracuse and seeing these guy's ...huge legends of racing ...all on one track defying death on the mile...scruffy, Doug ,Steve ,jac ,Kauffman both swindells ,davis jr,the famous brick car the 29 ,the 77 and on and on.... was like I died and arrived in sprint car heaven
I was a Roadie for a a WoO team...We were racing at Terre Haute and I was standing in the back of the trailer and Kenny Woodruff walked by and gave me the finger...I was new to the tour and had no idea who he was....
One of my favorite memories of watching Bobby race was the early 80s Ohio sprint speed weeks at atomic speedway and it was a nasty nite with rain showers off and on and all the heavy hitters were there at 2 o'clock in the morning on the low side he beat them all couldn't have been happier a very popular win the stands were all off their feet never seen anything like it
I think he's great. His voice doesn't sound bad at all and it had good volume and power behind it and you can understand every word he says because he enunciates every word.

Cool Interview. Bobby's right, I-55 is the best track in the country. Sit on the front row entering turn 3. You are less than 10 feet away. Might as well sit on top of the wall. Way Way Way Too Close. Wind is unreal. I-55 is a spectator tragedy waiting to happen. Good thing Schrader is rich. Because the day one jumps out of that joint, it will make the 1955 crash at Le Mans look like a cake walk.
