I just listened to hellevator (in this video) multiple times and in both parts I hear HAN not Woojin or Lee Know…. I mean I hear the difference in literally ALL of them EXCEPT Hellevator…. Am I hearing wrong or…???
@@jasminvalladares5758 honestly i agree with you. but i went by the music video and performances. so in those parts he was singing and in the new performances of hellevator Han and Lee Know took the parts 🤷♀️
I joined SKZ right as SKZ in 2019 ( casually ) sorta saw the whole thing go down I wasn't fully invested yet ( Was invested in SVT Nu'est, and BTS lmao ) but when SKZ 2020 was released I felt the songs ( and 2021 vr. ) were my preferred version than to the ogs, and it's when I really got into their sound I think WJ has a beautiful voice, but their new versions truly shows the difference between " I worked with what I had " vs " I did everything I wanted to! I'm so proud. " because the thing is I always felt Wj's voice despite it's beauty felt very forced into the sound they were developing. WJs sound is very 3rd gen Kdrama OST powerful ballad, and his music now just shows what kind of music he wanted to do and he's thriving in it. Re-recording 90% of their discography, changing choreo's, and working out new concepts was probably so insanely stressful but I'm proud they put that effort in to create the vibe and sound we Stays love sm
I think woojin really suits mature songs more because his voice sounds sooo like mature idk how to put it LOL his style is kind of like Jungkook with americanized vibes. He's the best at riffs and runs dude's a beast at it. His accent sounds so fluent when he sings english which is definitely on the more pop size and not rock/experimental like skz. He was the best singer among them but his voice didn't suit the straykids style or kpopy songs in general.
personally for all of these I prefer the skz2020 vers I don't have anything against Woojin don't get me wrong, I wasn't there when he was still in the group so that probably explains why but I just like Stray Kids as 8 both in voices and as a group. I don't think his voice really suits the kind of songs they make or even made but that's just a personal opinion.
I don't know why, don't take offense of this, but his leaving the group was kinda reminded with how Jessica leaves the group (SNSD) but in a very different way😢😢
man i wish they didn't cut woojins part in behind the light but instead gave that part to someone else, that part elevates the song so much its so good
@@christianebretschneider5346 bro I've been into skz way before predebut and I'm giving out my own opinion about woojin's voice. Why so defensive? If you can't handle constructive criticism then that's not my fault anymore. Did I even say that woojin is inappropriate in the group? My comment is only one sentence but you are wilding in your reply like I k*lled woojin 🤣 And if you are not provoked why the long defensive reply? Again I'm stating my own opinion about his voice. Don't be butt hurt and don't even say that my opinion is criticizing chan's ability. Bfr "kim woojin would've stayed" now let's think about that in this time. Did he stay? No right?
i personally don’t think his voice fit well with the other members. his voice is very mature and he knows exactly where to place his voice unlike the other members who’s technique wasn’t as advanced and they still have their boyish tone so they sound so much younger. it’s no insult to woojin but i do think maybe skz held him back as a vocalist and in turn he sounds out of play in some songs, he’s a very safe vocalist too which doesn’t rlly fit skz style
@@seelesims WooJin seems like a member of Day6 (Or a SM idol) rather than SKZ's member because of his very younger tone & beautiful vocal style as an individual (which doesn't suit the darker & stronger style of SKZ's music) but I'm happy that he found himself (even as a soloist) and even as a soloist, he had still the full support of all STAYs
I think we need to give credit to Chan for having to go back and rework all those songs and getting them redone and they still sound good. I know it was a lot of work but it came out great. Chan really is the hardest working leader in K pop lol
@@Nat_0218I didn't discredit them but I know he does a lot of the actual arrangements. They all had to work hard for it of course. Praise of one isn't discredit to anyone else. If that were the case then everyone is discredited for everything.
@kitabootforever yes it does, because how do you know who does what? Why are you giving only one the credit for all 3 of their work? Your example doesn't make sense because everyone else in the world wasn't involved in making the songs.
It absolutely doesn't take away anything from what they do. Praising one isn't to the detriment of another. I simply stated my opinion and also I see the credits on the songs and look under arrangements and most songs say Bang Christopher Chan in that specific area. I like looking at the credits on Amazon music. They also have other people's names there but I didn't list them either. I just know going off what they say in interviews, Chan's Room, other lives and looking at the credits. Have a good day. I won't be responding again, respectfully.
@@kitabootforever It absolutely does when you presented as if he did everything himself. Trying to give him all of the credit for all of their work is discrediting. Erasing their contribution by acting as if his contribution is somehow more respectable or bigger. Chan akgeas always do this. Solo stans.
You're such a weirdo. You should be ashamed of creating narratives to suit your need to victimize them and vilify him. So you mean to tell me they watched him in their videos from district 9 to double knot and were laughing and smiling, but suddenly seeing levater era made them remember they hate him? You would rather forego logic than admit you're just a narcissistic bully. Have you considered that what happened TO Woojin is why they have a hard time watching levater era??? 🙄🙄🙄
i still think that woojin was the strongest vocalist out of everyone, it's a pity because the songs we could've had will never be realized. it's also the fist time i've heard a group so eagerly try to erase a past member's existance to the point of re-recording.
@@slowedmp3what copyright issues? none of those songs legally belongs to woojin. if using songs after members leave the group is such a hassle and needs adjustments, then why no other group rerecorded their discography? i’m not criticizing skz, they can do whatever they want with their music, but i think it’s more likely that re-recordings were their idea and not a necessity
Even though I didn’t knew straykids when they were 9 I still loves Woojin’s voice and seeing people saying that Woojin’s voice never suit skz make me sad, his voice is really unique but I really think he suited skz, even for me it’s kinda hard to not listen to the ot8 version bc it’s like something is missing when he don’t sing. Anyway Stan skz and wj as a soloist
People here will be biased, as they may directly say that the SKZ 2020 sounds better just because they are still influenced by the drama surrounding Woojin's departure. woojin 's voice colour is really unique and i prefer the old versions! However, as someone who attended two SKZ concerts and a Woojin concer, I believe Woojin truly deserved more lines when he was in SKZ, especially when it comes to singing live without relying on pre-recorded tracks. same goes for Han, remains stable in both rapping and singing live even while dancing. His live performances sound almost identical to the recorded tracks, which is incredible.
I hate that people discredit his vocals, he was amazing, I think the boys did great doing his parts, overall incredible, whatever their path was I’m supporting them as well as WJ, they are successful on their own and that’s what matters, stop being haters and calling him talentless.. because never was he that.
Both versions are great! I started being STAY 1 year ago or so since I didn't have the chance to see a comeback with Woojin. I hope Woojin is happy being a soloist. Seungmin and Woojin's voices are quite similar (in my opinion). I LOVE HAN'S VOICE
KW is an amazing vocalist but I think his vocal tone just never fully harmonized/complimented with SKZ’s genre. His voice often stood out like like a sore thumb? Not saying it’s a bad thing. I think his vocals def suite his current genre as a solo artist and I’m happy for him but I def prefer the re-recorded.
I remember watching the gone away teams howl in harmony where IN mentioned he thinks he's worked hard to have a voice that fits the team and I didnt really get the concept/hadnt really thought about how much of an issue groups might have with this, but it completely fits the way I feel about Woojins voice in their older songs. It has nothing to do with his talent or how good he sounds I dont think anyone can say anything negative about this at all, his voice just doesnt fit. The energy he puts into his words, the feelings they protray feel really lacking compared all the other members, it just feels like theyre at completely different levels. its so noticeable especially when Han Seungmin or Chan takeover his parts. My pace, District 9, even I am you are so much more impactful I feel and I cant listen to the originals without feeling like its missing something.
Its so hard for me to listen to any of the mixtape songs without his voice idk why especially spread my wings it just doesn't sound right maybe its because of the survival show
