Hiking, trail running, camping and the great outdoors
My channel is based around the great outdoors and you can find videos of me walking in places such as the Peak District National Park, wild camping high up in the hills and reviewing some of my favourite outdoor gear! My aim is to encourage more people to get out and enjoy the great outdoors!
Love watching your videos Alex, but I can confirm, you’re totally mad!! The only time snow is nice, is when it’s on a Christmas card, or falling gently on the Christmas Coca-Cola ‘Holidays Are Coming’ advert 😂😂

Yet another amazing episode Alex, thanks for these 👍🏻 Joss Naylor was an amazing man, did so much to keep my love of the Lake District alive. He sadly died recently, 28/06/24, R.I.P The Iron Man ❤
Following in my dad and his friends footsteps about 70-80 years on….it was at this point Alex had to move out of the family home 🤣🤣 Brilliant video as ever, I’m having a short ramble around Malham this weekend, and if the weather stays fine, it may be time to give the Peak District a try, your certainly painting it as a beautiful picture 👍🏻
I’ve only walked in Derbyshire once, a little place around Matlock, but after watching this, I think I may have to stop over for a few nights and try some different places! 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing Alex.😊
WOW! STUNNING! Thank you SO much for making, and sharing, such an amazing video of such an amazing mountain. I have driven to North Wales, and back home to Swansea, a few times over the years - using the two Cadair Idris roads - and the scenery is outstanding… But nothing like what I’ve just experienced by watching your video. Thank you… DIOLCH.
Just did the route up Grindsbrook Clough today, amazingly good fun. I was lucky it was very dry. Thought it was going to be tougher, but in honesty it was just an enjoyable level of toughness for a novice with loads of route choices. Views for days as the sun blessed me with its presence!
Hi buddy..just watched your vid where you hicked cadair idris in snowdonia..which I'm hoping to do wild camp at tomorrow....you mentioned in the video about paying a farmer a small fee to camp there..do you know which farmer an how to contact him please?.
Tryfan is a fantastic mountain. The North face is great. I did a wild camp the other month next to the tarn at the bottom of Bristly Ridge, Llyn Bochlwyd I think it is. Great spot for a camp 👍🏼. Great video mate.
Great video, Alex. Stunning drone shots as well. Have you tried the chilli and lime Graze nuts? They are my go to snack for wild camps 👌🏼... I keep meaning to try those smokey BBQ ones, so my next camp, I'll give them a whirl 👍🏼. ATB, Mike.
So glad I came across your video as I'm looking to do Kinder Scout this weekend! Mermaids Pool is where I am going to try first and go from there! Can't wait to see more videos from you! :D :D
Did the Coledale horseshoe somewhere in the 90s. Came back in 2003 and discovered that I suffered from agorafobie, so I felt quiet uncomforetable. A pity beacause I always loved the Lakes.
Planning on walking Kinder tomorrow, going up via Jacobs Ladder and towards Kinder Downfall before coming back, across to the woolpacks and down Grindslow Knoll. Not sure ill be trying find offical summit though 😂
Great vlog 👍.. we're both 64 ,still active hill walking, although I said I'm done with the bigger stuff after the Glyders did me knees in (you'll find out in years to come 😂) Cadair Idris still beckons though.. which route down did you take as you seem to have avoided the skree .. thanks in advance
lovely video. im so excited to have time to do a multi hike in your lovely neck of the woods mon tue wed next week. its starting to feel like a home from home. hope youre doing okay. life is tough at times.
Amazing video. I’ve recently just done the langdale pikes and you’re so right that view from the top of pike of Stickle was just breathtaking! Good job +1 sub 👍🏻
Great video, lots of useful information 👍🏼 we did the kinder circular last year and loved it 😊 thanks for posting 👏 liked and subscribed, got some of the peaks on my channel too, great place
Respect for getting those early shots - the back and forth to the camera is like double the hike. Also loved the shot just before the Drone footage of eating looking at the Great Ridge. Really is what it's all about - content, quiet and peaceful man. I miss it but love these videos to take me back.
Great video, always love the music choices and the drone footage, I've not done any real running, injured my right achilles tendon, rested totally for 2 weeks which nearly drove me insane, now walking but not far or fast.
Another great video which brings back happy memories for this Yank of my time living in GB and hiking around the country. The videos look so effortless but I know they are a lot of work to produce. Thanks!
Nice video again Alex 👌That route up and down from Grindslow to the perimeter footpath is a tough little one and more of a slide than a walk when its wet coming down but i like that too . Did you not find that pitch a bit on the slopey side ? I have always dismissed that one even though the views are fantastic because its not what i would call ideal but that might just be me getting on a bit 😉
@@alexcripps.outdoors I think it was me, lovely pitch up there on a beautiful day. Wish you had popped over to say hello, I was there again yesterday going up Grindsbrook and thinking about the video when you told me there was an easier path on the right in the comments!
I was there two weeks ago. Went straight up from Edale to Ringing Roger and then headed east, mainly to get away from airplane noises lol. Am in love with the place. Good video as always Alex!
Wonderful video as always mate, I was there only a few days ago and I agree there’s nothing better for clearing the head than being there. Thank you for sharing
