Struggling to pass a specific Praxis subject exam?
Unsure how to study effectively?
Unclear what is on each Praxis exam and which one you even need to take to qualify for your next teaching position?
We answer all these questions and more. Thanks for tuning in.
This video specifically covers the Praxis Core Math Exam (5733). It assumes up to a high school level of math understanding and is used broadly for admission into teaching programs and as a baseline pre-requisite for many teaching jobs. It may not specifically apply to the job you are looking to pursue but is still often asked for in order to establish a baseline level of competency. If you are looking specifically to teach Kindergarten Special Education - you should also review some of the more specialized exam codes such as Praxis Special Education: Core Knowledge and Applications (5354)
I just took this exam a month ago They Do not give any formulas and now I must retake it! So please don't tell people that you don't need to memorize the formulas you will fail
Thank you for sharing your recent experience. Praxis 5003 does not provide a formula sheet but in our experience individual formulas are typically given on questions that require them. Could you share more about some of the questions that you encountered where a formula was needed and not provided?
We are very happy to hear that you found this video helpful. If you are going to a testing center for your PRAXIS, you are allowed to request scratch paper and pencil. You MUST use their approved materials though and you MUST return all of it to the proctor at the end of the test. You will not be allowed to bring in your own scratch paper or writing instruments. Please let us know if you have any other questions and good luck on your test!
We don't offer 1-on-1 tutoring at this time but please check out our channel for test code specific overview videos and sample practice problems. Which Praxis test are you studying for?
Best of luck and feel free to check out our playlist specifically on Praxis 5003 tips and sample practice problems. ru-vid.com/group/PLKp13uNv0Y5692eosPiAQNPQUVPUTJJY0
Thanks for the feedback. We are recording new videos every week and will prioritize some 'task of teaching' problem walkthroughs for you! Please check back soon.
Generally I recommend starting to study at least 2 months prior to the exam but it really depends on how comfortable you are with the material. Start with a practice test and then work backwards from that based on your score. Good luck!
