It’s always more of a pitcher’s league but it’s especially bad this year. Okamoto hit 41 home runs last year but right now no one is on pace to reach 30
if canada gets another team, i'd put it vancouver since that puts one team on the east and the other in the west. I would not go to Montreal since it failed once, plus Montreal is an hour plane ride away from Toronto
I'm an Orioles fan. Never take in a game from the 3rd deck in left. Once was enough for me. I could not see the warning track/wall (well before its current distance).
new York should been staten island university hostipal ballpark home of staten island ferryhawk former staten island yankees with bectuful view of hudson river and nyc behind outfield
In the playoffs, too many of the larger market, favored teams are being eliminated early on. So less national interest in teams like the Rangers, D-backs, etc. That explains the lowly rated WS to me. If the playoffs are perceived as a crapshoot, I also think it may lessen interest in the regular season, but am not sure.
Tampa Bay should move to Montreal, the A's should stay in Sacramento, the White Sox should go to Charlotte, and SLC & Nashville should get expansion teams.
When 99cents only store changed their logo & simply became "the 99 store", that really sent the whole thing spirling down to oblivion. This is why Ross Dress For Less will never even think of changing their logo. It's a psychological thing thats hard to explain.
Yeah idk my parents got Dodger season tickets. Its not obvious that there's less attendance but my only guess is tix are just expensive. And with more high profile starters (this will only get more expensive when Ohtani starts to pitch) people might just find it too pricey. Dodger games were never cheap but they definitely were far cheaper than going to the cheapest Laker or Kings game for example. If the cheapest tix are matching that? That's not great
Good Day Baseball International, can you please feature a newly created Professional Baseball League in the 🇵🇭 Philippines? It is called LIGA Baseball Philippines. They also have a Official Facebook Page of the League. (Sorry I couldn't put a link here including the news because my comment will be deleted by RU-vid. I am just one of the Baseball Fan in the Philippines. Thank you for spreading ⚾ Baseball in the world.
If i am mlb i expand out to 36. If you have 6 owners that want it doit. And toncomment on after 32 it takes a while...once the owners taste expansion money i think it becomes tempting to keep expanding
There seems to be a bias here in favor of professional baseball. Kentucky Proud Park on the campus of the University of Kentucky has to be the best in KY, not the minor league ballpark in Louisville. The setting is great. Kind of a secluded feeling with the arboretum surrounding much of the facility. Brand new--only in its eighth season, or something like that. State of the art. Also, as I recall, it was designed with sustainability in mind and won some kind of award. A large percentage of the building materials used are recycled materials. A large percentage of them were sourced from within a 500-mile radius, or something like that. Easily the best place to see a ballgame in the Commonwealth, I'm sure. But I have never been to the Louisville minor league stadium, so I could be wrong.
I've been to a lot of ballparks. Not nearly as many as you, probably, but I have to say I prefer Great American Ballpark in Ohio, despite it being cursed. And I'm a little more fond of Oracle over Petco, though those are the two best. Maybe its the giant Coca-Cola bottle in left and the kayaks camped out in the bay. Texas is tough but I was quite charmed by the Alpine Cowboy's nearly untouched since its construction in 1946- Kokernot Field. That place is a pilgrimage, though hard to call "The best". Perfect choice for Florida, though Steinbrenner Park is a fun replica of Yankee Stadium. Honorable mention for Pennsylvania: People's Natural Gas Field in Altoona. Roller coasters in the backdrop of Right Field and the mountains behind home plate where you can catch a glimpse of the Altoona Curve railroad portion for which the team is named. Great work, thanks for doing this! I've seen a couple of your videos now, and I will be subscribing!
The best ballpark in Georgia is historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah. One of a handful of parks left where both Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron played, and now home of the Savannah Bananas.
I disagree. Here's my 4 picks for expansion MLB teams: West- SLC or Sacramento. East- Nashville or NC. San Antonio: Nope. Texas teams LOVE to limit other new teams competing against what is already there. Especially Dallas/FW. Very fan possessive. Nashville: Not as likely as you think, but strong candidate. It could likely be in NC somewhere, just my opinion. I say 'somewhere' in NC, because, although Charlotte is an obvious option based on population, geographics and CBD (Central Business District), Baseball is VERY popular in Raleigh, and have proven they're a serious sports town with the NHL Hurricane; consider the "Triangle". SLC is also a baseball hotbed, and they're now getting the NHL team from AZ. Sacramento may likely be the current frontrunner in the West, but only because they're hosting the A's for 3 seasons. It'll be 'make-or-break' for them however, as if they don't properly prove success with the A's, they're definitely out. It's like a test-run, which the MLB is most inclined to. If they nail it, the MLB will definitely want them in a front running. My take? SLC vs. Sac for a West team, and Nashville vs. NC in the East. If Sacramento nails it with the trial run with the A's, they'll likely be the nod. Puting new sports teams, in new cities, is a big risk. If a city proves themselves with a trial run, they're in. NC (probably Charlotte, possibly Raleigh) I think will likely get the East team. They're best situated and 'team ready' in many ways.
It should be renamed to the Northern Hemisphere Classic, unlike the former IBAF World Cup and the Intercontinental Cup it will never be played elsewhere.
Portland has recovered from the dark days of the pandemic. If you ever visit here you will seen a beautiful thriving city. I think it would be the best bet for MLB. Our NBA and MLS teams have incredible attendance
I'm sorry, did they forget how the Dominican Republic has a big presence in baseball? They could have dropped Houston, and let's not forget how the country has the facilities to accommodate fans. San Juan or Puerto Rico is still recovering from all of the destruction of the hurricanes and earthquake.
He’s not crazy, the current Durham Athletic Park doesn’t hold a candle to that beautiful park in Charlotte. DAC is just a bandbox stadium with the snorting bull on the left field wall, not the classic stadium of the movie
Still too many variables. With the waning popularity of baseball there are probably at least a half dozen current franchises that could be on the move.
For the state of South Carolina, in my opinion. The University of South Carolina stadium should have been #1. As much as I hate to admit, being a Clemson fan but giving credit where credit is due
Should eventually consider bidding for the Quarterfinal and Final Rounds... like you can still have your Pool Play Destinations around the world but the Quarterfinals and Beyond would be played at the Host Country. As far as pool play... I'm tired of seeing 3 US cities picked every time... Miami is a good choice, and Tokyo is the obvious choice... Houston should've been Mexico City (or Caracas), and San Juan should've been Santiago or Santo Domingo. I think maybe (for the European Clubs) Toronto could work as a host city (I know it's March, but Rogers Centre has a roof and it's a much shorter flight than to Houston, I don't even like Canada and I'm recommending them). I would've liked Taichung or Taipei, but obviously they haven't qualified, so maybe for the future. Also Australia maybe could host in the future.
