Thinking of getting this exact size of machine. And this exact year. I know it is used but having any trouble getting parts or any major problems with this unit?
no problems here and parts are readily available, did a complete undercarriage last year on mine (normal wear) and had no trouble finding parts. Still a great machine, wouldn’t trade it for two new ones.
My Wife bought me a Kubota BX sub compact tractor with a 3 point hitch and a front end loader for my retirement gift and I have lots of fun plowing snow and as I have several neighbors much older than me I enjoy plowing out their mailboxes as well. Some try to pay me but I refuse but I can never turn down Grandmas Home made Cookies and Hot Cocoa. Great video and you live in a picturesque area for sure.
Now that is what a blower should be...BIG! Front mounted, duel auger, and it has a rotating drum so you can cast the snow farther by not sending out the chute, excellent.
Myself personally, I would sell the plow and front mount that blower so it is comfortable to use and it so the overall tractor length is shorter for better maneuverability. Is the plow quicker in the long driveway section at the end of the video, yes. But it cannot push frozen snowbanks back. Yes the blower is a bit slower, but there are many benefits to the blower: your driveway does not get narrower with each storm, you can put the snow exactly where you want it with ease, you can snowblow bankings, and by front mounting you can get close to objects where as it is harder when mounted on the rear, comfort, and its just fun. Nice video! I miss NE, I spent the first 39 years of my life nextdoor in NH and I love winter
When you get it spray some penetrating lube on the hinge pins on the break pedals.I didn’t know this was an issue and because the pedals were slightly stuck on my breaks were not fully released and it wore my breaks a lot and heated my axles. That was almost 5 years ago. now every couple months I spray a quick shot of WD40 on the pins and keep my floor spotless. No issues since. It has been a great loader. Hope you enjoy yours.
Do you have an idea on how much pto hp is being output at the front? I know that it's less than the rear (from what I've been told), but how much of a difference.
I’m sorry but I don’t know what the difference is. The front PTO is direct right of the crankshaft on the engine and mine is geared to 1000 rpm. I stopped running my blower on the front because I wanted to be able to carry the blower and snow plow at the same time. what I have noticed is that the rear pto has noticeably more power but not a huge amount. I’m sure that the power is more manageable through the transmission than it is directly of the crank. I’m currently looking at getting a front mount flail mower.
@@TB-jj9tu I bought a 2015 6115M out of Quebec with a front 3pt and pto. I may just remove and sell it. Previous owner did have an 86" blower on the front.
TB, great to see you’re still hard at it👍🏼 The Deere sounds just as strong as ever! Hope to see more videos in the near future. Good break in the day to watch Mother Nature 🦊 at her best. Curious little creatures!😊
I have not been able to upload any videos since the last one. I have tried several times with different devices but nothing is working. I don’t know what’s going on but on a different subject we have not gotten any good storms this year at all. An inch or two every so often, and rain. Unfortunately we really need snow or else it could be a dry summer for the area. I’ll keep working on getting my up loads working, hopefully soon.
unless one or both of my 6430 tractors have a catastrophic breakdown or parts are no longer available I will never get rid of them, luckily I don’t put a ton of hours on them and they are always stored in a heated garage so they should out last me.
I have a Laforge front three pint hitch and I just modified the original headgear on a 10 foot Fisher plow, I have a few other videos that show it a little more closely.
It is a Meyers plow, I don’t know much other than it’s 7 foot, full moldboard trip and really old. 😄 I got it at a yard sale cheap and built the mounting plate myself.
it is a curtis cab, it is a nice system because you can remove any panel you want without tools. it does seal up pretty well. i don’t use a heater and most trips to camp I usually have to vent the front windshield to cool off the cab just from engine heat coming from the center console. the big down side is that the engine sound is loud with the cab all closed in but just being out of the weather makes it all worth it.
I’m really interested in buying a 6430 for my farm. How have these tractors been for you? Anything I should know before buying? I’m wanting this size with no emissions. So this tractor has been at the top of my list.
I have had good luck with mine. I have two that were special order. I have the IVT transmission, it works great for boom mowing and plowing snow. The only issue I had was that they came from the factory with light duty hose clamps on the cooling system. some of them started to leak. I changed most of them myself with high compression clamps, it was not a huge job. The fact they have no emissions is exactly the reason I will never trade them in but yes they have been great tractors so far.
@@TB-jj9tu How are the 6430's working with you so far? Still happy with them? They are on my short list for my next utility tractor and am curious what kind of experience people have had with them.
@@christophersteves I have had good luck with mine, the above comment where I mentioned the hose clamps but no major problems so far. I am happy with them. I got mine new so I am lucky to know the history behind them, it will be hard to tell what a pre owned tractor has been through and how well it was maintained.
My family and I came up from central Pa and spent a week in the Bethel ME area this past July. Went to Grafton Notch and later Umbagog looking for Moose or bigfoot. Didn't see anything, but we had a great time. Tha'ts some very nice country up there in Western Maine.
This operator KNOWS this road , where the problems are , notice he adjusts the wing hight here & there . I also used to do this 71-74 in Canada , Champion grader , my Wing (14ft) was post mounted , more to the rear, & when I came to a power pole I just dropped the heel of the wing & immediately lifted , but it would not lift , due to snow load ,this would cause the rear of the grader to slide sideways , correcting for skid with steering wheel , & as the wing started to clear it would lift , missing the pole , then reset for hight & keep trucking about 15mph
The road in this video is around 2 miles long. The other gravel roads in town are not as long. This is the only one I drag and only once and a while. most times is is done with the town truck and a York rake.
I love my 135C, a machine that size with a blade and zero tail swing is just about perfect in my opinion. I rarely run into a situation where I wish I had more rear counter weight. I had my thumb built to my specs because I wanted a lot of curl and long shanks because I knew I would be moving a lot of brush. I think flat thumbs are useless. A 130 would work great for what you want but I would spend the money and get a blade and at least have it plumbed to run a thumb or tilt bucket, even if you don’t put one on at first it is worth it to have the factory auxiliary boom lines just in case. not sure if you saw it but I have another video where I set roof trusses with this excavator with a 15 foot job boom. Best luck with your decision on the 130
Good video, that's the perfect setup IMO, plow/pusher on the front and blower on the rear. I just bought a rear blower last week, it will be nice to be able to clear the snow without making monster piles that don't melt until mid May.
Yeah it's been a pretty easy winter so far, hopefully March and April don't do anything stupid like a couple years ago. Been loving having my tractor home this winter for the first time since I'm done with my contract in Portland. Some of my driveways close by the house are so much easier with the blower
I remember that you use to have a setup with the blower in the front of the tractor. How come you don't have it setup like that anymore? Great videos by the way!!!
It is the same blower and tractor. Last year we had a big storm coming and I actually put the blower on the back with the plow on the front just in case. The tractor seemed to handle the weight of the blower much better on the back. The only change was the length of the hydraulic hoses. Because the blower takes more power and uses way more fuel to operate I don’t use it as much as the plow so the little bit I do use it doesn’t bother me to have to turn around to see it.
