Could be located a little better and still be safe because every time you cook it seems as though any smoke would set it off where it’s located. Or just use the microwave and don’t worry about it.
We understand the sales contracts to be weighed heavily in ITH favor with an open ended delivery time frame. Maybe someone who has bought one can chime in…
I nearly bought one like this...there is no room for any storage and a small bedroom....the only thing nice is that porch I own a Amish custom made tiny house fully loaded u puts this to shame in many ways. Get rid of that loft ...a waste of space
Frankly don’t remember the exact comment you were referring to or how you may have interpreted or misinterpreted what we said but our point was that people in general have a negative view of Alabama and the US South in general but we LOVE Alabama- the places, the people and the politics.
Ok I guess. Pretty good space. A community of these would like nice, and a lot nicer than those RVs all over the place, and I always hated the striping on RVs. I don't know - doesn't seem like a nice area - kinda lonely too.
Not sure. We were there several months ago and hadn't been back. These are near Orlando and north central Florida, so I'm sure they did fine. Despite all the news stories, Floridians are quite used to hurricanes; big issue is skyrocketing insurance rates.
If you are into the topic of Bigfoot I highly recommend the RU-vid channel The Facts By How To Hunt. No BS on the topic, just honest truth from those that encountered Bigfoot and didn't ask for the encounter and it's changed their life forever. No affiliation to it. Just want to find out the truth about them like thousands of other people too.
You could contact them. I’d assume they would but it may be costly. It would likely be better to find something similar closer to you. It can run 8-12 dollars a mile to ship beyond their typical shipping radius.
If you have mobility problems that loft would finish you off! I retired in great health and boom, unexpected health problems. Retired to a 1 Story Coastal Cottage and thank God it did. This is a stunning tiny house BUT NOT FOR SENIORS.
Randy Jones stated in one of his video he was going to outsource some of his homes to the Amish for mfg that sent a flag to me and the pricing can be up to $370 a sq ft ? The lot was cheap $200 but do you see how small the lots are and how close to the neighbors. I have concerns on hoa and the contracts that they have are very restrictive. I guess when your very poor and have poor money management these places look attractive. I fear when Blackrock makes Randy a offer he can`t refuse and the rental lots triple in price. Property looks in disaray to what they purposed all improvements. He has lost his business liscense under ITH. I would hope he can resolve his issues so the people can have security !
They are apparently going through some more difficulties currently, if you keep up with the local Newport, TN news. Issues over permits and plans for infrastructure in their mountain and creek properties with the county. We, too, read that their business license had lapsed, but as a previous license holder myself, that could be a simple clerical or oversight error. Last I read, the county was leaning toward issuance of a stop work order on the developments, but we haven't heard anymore. We did see a video a week or so ago where some shiny excavators, a skid steer and a dump truck were "working" at one of the properties; however, if you watch the equipment "work" during the first five or six minutes of the video, you only see about 1/3 of a bucket of dirt actually picked up and dropped and the skid steer is shown back dragging. Not exactly "working", let alone "moving mountains"! Perhaps the stop work order is already in effect and they are trying to pretend it isn't for the benefit of the YT loyalty team. We've debated making another video about the latest article in the Newport Plain Talk, but quite frankly, we don't have the time right now, or else we would.
17:34 padded floors because you're going to be crawling up there. This is fine for younger folks. Not older people with back and knee issues. Beautiful though!
You two do a great job showing these homes. I always wonder why you make such a deal about the toilets though 🤣. I’m old enough to make you two look like spring chickens but still have a regular toilet. A regular toilet is actually so much better for you. It helps keep you young (move your muscles or lose them) and facilitates easier and more complete movements. Anyway, another great job!
Knee surgery for Tammy and sciatica for Paul. Just a pet peeve we guess. Squatty potty works wonders though! Thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching!
If you don’t have an end table can you fit a king or California king ( longer but less wide than a regular king? Was thinking you could put in a small overhead side wall shelf instead of an end table.
Possibly but it’s been a while since we toured these homes. In our newer videos we have made it a point to measure rooms, doors, etc. and discuss bed size possibilities. Thanks for watching!
Be careful where you move in TN - make sure tiny homes are allowed. Newport just enacted an ordinance forbidding tiny houses in city limits unless stick built on site I think.
If I had that one, I'd leave out the bunk beds and turn that space into a pantry and coat closet. I like how they built out a small owning over the back window. Clayton has some of the better interior color packages. I like their cabinet colors, counters, and backsplashes better than most.
New subscriber here, the last home is a really really a good deal now a days..i remember my doublewide i bougth back in the 90s including all brand new appliances curtains etc i only paid $70K, brandnew was built fr Colorado and delivered here in Arizona with ny acre ground
The only thing I don't like is the double sink in the bathroom. I would like it even more if the upper windows all opened. Only other problem that I have is, I don't have the money to buy it. 😢
Just found out the other day that Clayton Homes is owned by Warren Buffet and they do NOT treat the customers right; their product is GARBAGE! ... Not saying don't buy one just saying buyer beware..
Yes we've been talking about how Clayton is owned by WB and his company and how Clayton owns nearly 85-90% of all mobile and manufactured home companies. They have various levels of quality based on the individual company and product line - from economy to luxurious, so you have to do your homework. Likewise, with RV park models. However, the Clayton RV Park Models appear to be of more luxurious / higher quality than some of their economical lines of mobile homes.
Hiw is it possible to move a tiny home with sheetrock walls, and not have the rock Crack? Gypsum board is nit flexible like VOG. and where in AL are there tiny home communities to put one of these (that's not a mobile home park).
It's done all the time with single, double and modular homes. Once the home is delivered and set up, the dealer will have a crew come and fix any issues that arose during transport such as patching any cracks.
You have to seek out communities that either sell or rent land for the buyer to place the home on. Or, a buyer can purchase their own land and place one, if local regulations allow. There are a handful of communities in Alabama (and other states as well). Around Mentone, AL (near Ft. Payne) there are several communities set up by a company called River Ridge Escapes. ITH also has a community in partnership with someone else just outside Huntsville.
I've loved this model since the first time I saw it at RRC. I was hoping you'd measure the width of the interior doors going into the bathroom and bedroom. The floor plan only shows the measurement of the sliding barn door, but it is much wider than the actual door you walk through. If I knew the washer/dryer unit was a 24" or a 27", I'd have a clue since it had to fit through the doorways to get it in.
@@50pluslife360 Thanks, that would be helpful since no one else shows measurements like ya'll do. People in small wheelchairs would love that info, because it would let us know what models would work or not. I know I can get a plain model that allows for wider doorways, but I'm trying to find a model I actually like that will work for me. So yes, a lot of people would love it if you measured the doorways. Thank you so much.
ITH likes to claim they don’t owe money. But what they owe are houses to people who’ve already paid upfront. Why would he layoff people when he has a backlog of houses needing to be built? Why does he keep offering houses and properties when he hasn’t fulfilled the contracts he already has? If ITH puts your money safely into escrow, why won’t they say so?
He's using the most recent money he gets to pay for overdue bills. The money deposit/full payments he's getting from clients today are being used to build the houses that were paid for a year ago. Like a ponzi scheme...
I don't like the mini split right over the headboard of the bed. I agree with the wife about the window, so get rid of that, and put a small mini split there. I live in garden apartments where the AC units are mounted in holes in the walls below windows. One in the bedroom, and one at the opposite end of the apartment in the living room. I can't stand the on in the bedroom running at night so I let the one in the living room suffice.
I'm still getting used to these dimensions. I just moved to an apartment which is a bit more space than I need. 730 sq ft. My bedroom 12 x 16. These park models tend to be tight unless they are long enough like close to 40 ft. At least the one shown here has a safe stair case, and the unit does look nice as well. A lot of small park models, and small shed homes are only good for Air B&B or campgrounds which is fine of course.
@@50pluslife360 Right - so I'm still getting used to this. I saw a video about a guy who built a 600 sq ft apartment in the backyard starting with a shed I believe. It was perfectly livable - no problems. I saw a similar video this morning about a couple living in something like 14x30, and they did it just right. All small appliances saved a lot of space including the wall mounted on demand hot water heater. For the unit in this video, R13 is good for the walls, but I believe some of these Amish built park models have no insulation, and the R values for wood aren't that great, but for a small place, that might not be a problem.
Yes some of the homes we see aren't insulated very well. You can get off into the weeds calculating R values for drywall, wood, siding, etc. but as you said, in a small home, insulation values are not AS critical (still important) but I would definitely get as high as I could afford if I'm going to live in it full time.
Good afternoon ! I just went to this company’s website and I am very confused. I don’t seen any tiny homes . Says manufactured homes and when I click on Park model the page is blank. Sales only show manufactured homes no tiny homes . Please help .
I don't think Atkinson keeps up with their website since they have a lot of turnover - they sell a lot of homes! If you want to see the info on the Clayton homes per se, try the Clayton links in the description of the video. If you have specific questions for Atkinson, just contact them by phone.
