@@Mawin1313 how brain damaged do you have to be to not only ask that question, but also only ask it for one of the levels this is done for? Almost no level in this entire video has all of its coins replaced.
0:00 Here the final slivers of pure memory recall fade away. Memories become very stretched out in a desperate attempt to remember every detail before the clouds become darker and it begins to pour. The patient's mood is very low during this phase. 8:54 The mood can rapidly shift as memories begin to tangle slightly and are recalled seemingly at random. The patient can be very irritable at some points and have outbursts for seemingly no reason. Obsessive behaviors such as wanting to do things that vaguely resemble chores and picking things up and putting them down over and over will show. As pieces of the patient burn away, the mist thickens more and more. 17:20 The first memory to be completely tangled and unrecognizable marks the start of the third phase, where memories truly begin to deteriorate and distort. The patient may forget what the name of their condition is, but they still know they have it. They are still very aware of what is happening. 56:24 The patient becomes child-like as their mood continues to rapidly shift and distort. They'll want to have toys, coloring books, TV shows to watch. It may keep their mind somewhat at ease. Some memories are completely tangled, and the ones that aren't are the core memories, the finest moments of the patient's life. These are the final clear glimmering memories.
0:00 The first symptoms start to show. It starts off with forgetting simple things, like locations, past dates or details about childhood memories. All of these can simply be passed off as old age. Still, they have no way of sensing or knowing that anything is wrong. It's like an overcast day. The sun may be obscured by the blanket of clouds, but you still know it's there. 10:04 During this phase the patient becomes what most would call senile or feeble. A slight sense that something could be wrong fills his mind as memory quality gradually decreases. Still, many will just pass this whole ordeal as old age or senility. These are the last of the glory days before the mist thickens more and memories truly start to be harmed. 24:45 Something is wrong. The patient knows something is wrong, we know something is wrong, and even the family starts to notice. Memories become somewhat faded, and details change just slightly. The mood of our patient hasn't changed much. 36:01 Upon being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, the patient's mood changes drastically. Memory quality continues to gradually decrease as they race to recall and keep things together. They'll keep bringing up excuses for everything. Denial seldom sets in, and the mood becomes happy once again, but more often than not, the mood is low. 1:01:50 Alzheimer's begins to erode at well-known memories. Desperation sets in. Our patient may think irrationally and also act irrationally. Not only are the patient's memories dreamlike by this phase but the world around them also becomes dreamlike, ever so slightly distorted to their perspective. 1:20:21 Late stage 2 begins to settle in. Instead of just forgetting where the car keys are, the patient forgets about the car and how to drive it. They begin to wander around their home for seemingly no reason. Names of friends and family slowly become a blur, and it is now very clear that our patient isn't the same person anymore. 1:26:15 Here we begin to transition to the third stage. The patient realizes just how dire the situation is becoming and their mood completely plummets, plunging them into a deep depression as they become hopeless.
0:00 Life is great, everything is clear, and everything is good. Things that happened ten to twenty years ago can be remembered as if they just happened. Alzheimer's hasn't even begun yet. 15:33 The mind is nearly as clear as the first phase. Memory is sharp and there are problems only with very old memories. A very light mist begins to settle in here as Alzheimer's sets its first foot onto their mind. 26:37 Similar to the second phase, a light mist has settled in, and the patient may be somewhat detached from reality. They have no way of sensing or knowing that anything is wrong during this phase. Alzheimer's rides into the patient's mind like a Trojan horse, planting its first seeds.
Yeah… I really dislike this. Comparing Generation Retro to this level is like comparing a fanmade Marvel movie made by two 14-year-olds to an official sequel; it’s incredibly obvious which one was made out of passion and love for the product and which one was made only out of desire to fulfill a contract and get money. Pretty much none of the charm of the original is left in (other than something that doesn’t even appear in the main level) and you somehow managed to make this more unreadable than the original. At best, this is generic, and at worst, this is insulting - the worst thing a level could possibly be. Not to mention, your responses to less positive comments come across as though you’re completely unable to take criticism. Feel free to try to change my mind, but this is definitely one of my least favorite levels in the game.
Not to mention, out of every level in the Poison Gauntlet, you chose to remake the only level of the Gauntlet to have actual effort put into it? WHERE’S THE LOGIC IN THAT?
@@masterdoge987 the things you say come off as pretty contradictory, and kinda feel like they're TRYING to cause a disagreement wth me. i'll answer your points one by one though. First, you claim that I made this level just to "get the bag", rather than as an expression of passion. I did not start this level to get it rated. It was genuinely something I started for fun after hearing that something I found incredibly fun in my childhood actually aged poorly. Later on, as the level was turning out unexpectedly well, I realized that it would likely be good enough for a rate, and I'll admit that it did become an important driving force for me. But this does not change the fact that, at the core, I started and completed this level to honor Generation Retro. As evidence of this, you mention that the level doesn't have any of the charm anymore, which strikes me as odd. Sure, I could have gotten a bit more creative, as most of the gimmicks are just recreations of things from Generation Retro, but by and large the level is still decently fun and lively. So I think what this "charm" means to you is actually just the jank present in the original level. The broken english, the empty and clashing 2.0 decorations, the 3d object pixels. Then you claim that "I somehow managed to make it less sightreadable." Fair enough, but at least here it's because the level is actually decorated and therefore it's generally tougher to see, and not due to blind jumps and wack hitboxes. The main reason I bring this up is that it's sending me mixed messages on how you even feel about gen retro in the first place. Briefly, I wanted to mention that you called this level "insulting". Please, name one concrete thing in this level that "insults" the original generation retro. And while I'm in that paragraph, I might as well mention that yeah, I'm not the best at handling criticism. Sometimes I really fail to collect my emotions, and people reacting negatively to my work really ticks me off. This is why I'm putting extra care into my response to you. Lastly, you ask a very stupid question. "Why did you remake the only poison gauntlet level that had effort put in?" The answer to this question is within in the question itself. The other poison gauntlet levels are bad because they're generic and unmemorable. Generation Retro is "bad" but it's the exact opposite, filled with charm and personality. I wanted to remake Generation Retro because I thought that charm and personality deserved to exist in a package that was more overall polished. And it kind of hurts when I read people's reviews of this level that claim I completely failed to do that.
@@TonklaK you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna keep a counter of all the comments pointing this out, and just reply to each new one with how many times I've already been alerted of this.
I feel like stages 1-3.5 are actually some pretty good music, but after the halfway point in stage 3, it becomes more dreadful and transient, until stage 4 and 5. Then its just pure confusion and frustration. Stage 6 is just empty
That ending is so harsh and climactic, like counting your last breaths before awareness ceases. Looming on with a sense of doom, for whatever follows you won't be here for it, not as you are now. Killer close to a CS4 album.
