These videos were the best when they came out. You really should have continued to make these through the years to give us hope that there is really is good in this world. Hope you're doing good
From Vancouver...... I was working in Australia. Made it home just in time (20 min before the puck dropped) to watch the gold game. Jet lag was cured instantly. ;)
What a moment. I was way too little (like five at the time) but I was well and fully aware of how pivotal these few minutes were. I was overjoyed upon learning of the news of our iwn the next morning. The national anthem hit just a little harder then, just as it did several minutes following Sid's unbelievable goal that caused every street corner to just erupt.

Hey @jeanLouisNguyen. Thank you for making this almost 12 years ago. Wherever you are, I hope you're doing great. 2012 was a high-water mark in the history of the Internet. Something broke in all of us after this year and while we were all connected, we just weren't coming together anymore. We've been so divided. It's tragic.
24 years later, this still gives me goosebumps. The significance of the moment I think is understated. Despite the politics, our differences and any issues going on at the time, for that moment, we were one nation, united. Not a lot of that going on these days.
That day will go down in history for Canadians. The energy in Vancouver was nothing I have ever felt before. No matter who you were we were all 1 big family.
I worked at the airport that day and everyone was in the lunchroom watching OT, all the planes were waiting at the gate to be parked and no one cared. Even the managers and OPs left their posts to watch it. Literally no one was working
I was at the Yukon Inn bar downstairs in whitehorse with my brother and his buddies when sid the kid scored the ot winner i was jumping up and down then 5 years later I went to Vancouver with team Yukon and my teammates and I won gold in a shootout against new Brunswick at the 2014 special Olympics canada national summer games my parents and my brother were there to see it happen
Of course we'd all be celebrating no matter how Canada got the men's hockey gold that year on home soil, but I feel like what makes this winning moment especially visceral is the fact that it's in OT and it's literally a GOLDEN goal- and after an American comeback at that. Like the moment they score, it's ALL over, and you can't see it coming till happens. It's not like the period coming to an end and everyone knows the period is ending and you all celebrate once the timer goes off. Instead it's just a blink of an eye insane fucking moment. Very epic 😆
I feel like the world would be a lot better if we could bring back these yearly reminders of what was good about the year before. All this focus on the negative has got us fucked up.
As a Canadian part of me wants to thank Zach Parise for tying it, sure if he didn't and Canada went on to win 2-1 it would've been awesome on its own and probably saved us a lot of stress but because the US tied it, it allowed for the creation of one of the greatest moments in Canadian hockey history and a moment and a feeling I think every Canadian watching will remember for a long time, those 2 weeks in Vancouver were special and this moment caped it off perfectly
When Sid does this again in the next Olympics as someone who will probably be on the 3rd line as an angry Nathan MacKinnon has already scored a hatty and drove everyone through the boards is going to be amazing
The GG, being from Haiti, says alot about Canada being the World's 'Becon of Light' to all people in need, especially refugees and groups like Native Taiwanese. Now Armenia needs help and more... Let's get to 40+ million and make the Yankees look awful! Heck Australia would be lucky to get to 25 million. Who is with my opinion?
