extract the mmx mod zip file inside the mods folder, so your file structure becomes: mods > mmx > all the content (main.lua, etc..) Look at how other prebuilt mods do it. Next open sm64ex coop or coopdx then right before starting a game, click on the Mods option ingame.
Hi, I played the X and Vile mod with a friend and loved it but I have a small suggestion. Do you think you could give them a way to crawl under tight spaces? It's impossible to get into the igloo in Snowman's Land without switching back to Mario.
Sadly RU-vid refused to notify me about this, I had to look this up... but now I turned notifications on, so that shouldn't be happening again any time soon
Yay! everytime i see an update from you it brings a smile to my face, this looks so good! Reminding me to maybe hop off the Lethal Company brainrot and go back to playing SM64 with some mods, especially yours! best of luck and hope to see more updates!
@@ganewatch honestly it is XD i been having fun playing with friends, while streaming it on twitch, but also messing around with mods and customizing the experience hehe. Yet i still think about SM64 since the modding community is making amazing stuff :3!
This is a fairly big topic but the possibility is there. I plan on having one more update (v1.3) for the ex-coop/dxcoop version before considering a romhack port, with console compatibility in mind.
I know some people are expecting for Giga Armor, but I honestly see a lot more possibilities and unique stuff to be done with the Max Armor (especially with Golden)... Just imagine the double upwards dash, and the Head Chip to recover overtime ... speaking of HP, have you considering giving characters from 16 to 32 HP? That and giving projectiles different dmg values would be a good way to make PvP feel unique and more MMX-like, but that's just the XOD fan in me talking, imma go get the mod ASAP
The Arena mod currently exposes little functions for external mods to use. For example, I cannot make the custom projectiles (X-Buster, Vile weapons) carry the information about who hit who. So if you kill someone with the projectiles, you won't get any score points for it. I don't know if they let you change HP from external mods either. I am thinking of making an XOD 3D mod for sm64ex-coop, with upgrades like the Max Armor or special weapons.
as someone who's recently beaten X 1-4, this mod is honestly the best COOP64 mod I've ever played. Hands down this was so amazing and fun, it made everything a blast to play through.
Love this mod! Though some animations are still unfinished, like how X is supposed to hold the Baby Penguin as the mother is thinking him, but it just shows his idle animation with the baby penguin still there. There is also no walking or sneaking animations, and X just uses his standard running animation when pushing objects. I hope this feedback can help make this mod even better than before.
