If your fan has a remote to turn on the lights, try holding down the light on button for 3 seconds to control the voltage to the lights

It was a simple fix for sure! I did mine this week, Hint! replace your old hot incandescent bulbs with cooler LED bulbs. And take the light fixture off by unplugging unit! Much easier

Hi, i got 4 ceiling fans that came with remote control modules. I asked my electrician to install them bypassing the remote control module because i wanted to control them just by the wall switch. Guess what? All of them burned! I need help on how to correctly wiring them. The electrician says that the capacitor is on the remote control module, and when it was removed, then the fan didnt had capacitor and got burned. Please help!!! I already got new motors as replacement, but still want to avoid the remote control modules.

Positive temperature coefficient thermistor. It limits the current going to the bulbs by dropping resistance as they get hotter. It works like you girl friend, the hotter she gets, the lower her resistance is! Easy way to remember. They make NTC thermistors also. They work opposite. No fun there!

Did your fan stop working as well as the light?

I called Hunter because of this problem on a 2 month old fan. They said they would send me a replacement capacitor. So I suggest if the fan is not old, you try contacting HUNTER for the part.

Looks fantastic, how long is it? I am surprised that even new, there are problems. I was watching a video with a guy that bought a 2 year old Prevost with 6000 miles and he put $15,000 into it the first 6 months. The interviewer said it was common to spend money on even new units in the first year. I was surprised that within 2 years, lots of parts are no longer available. Have fun and follow the sun. My problem is that the light and fan dont work at all

I am so glad I searched this. I just installed a Hunter fan and I have power going to the sockets, but the lights won't come on. However, before I put it all together, I checked with my voltage meter and my main wires had power but the little wires did not. I was puzzled, but I kept on treading. Now I know. Thanks!!

Mine has a black box that's bigger than that it has some numbers on it idk what they are for i think its a regulation for power, idk what to do I just messed with a grey wire and lost 2nd setting to fan maybe I could use that to power it since it's spliced or no? Lol I'm so dumb

Have you tried using a lower watt bulb? Less watts = less amps @ 120V. Just wondering if this might be causing your issue.
