thanks a ton for taking the time to make this man. the peg makes perfect sense now (..haha now that i blew the capacitor in my fan motor! lol!). i decided to go back to old faithful, my wiper motor. but it's MUCH faster using the bike sprocket/wheel setup, compared to the single pulley i used last year. i plan to get it up there now (so we at least have something for halloween!) then circle back to the motor and maybe be able to replace it soon enough. maybe find a fan at a yard sale or something and swap the wiper motor. otherwise definitely noted for next halloween. thanks again! excellent vid. had no idea the home improvement stores will also thread the pipe for you. that little tidbit of info is a TOTAL game changer for next year's plans! ;)
+Magen Emberton - Did your ceiling fan come with a long 'down rod' from the motor to the lighting holder (shown about 1:54 in video)? The Ceiling fan I just has a stumpy little 1 1/2 " rod where the lighting housing attaches. There is no way to get the bicycle wheel and the lighting housing on it. Any suggestions?
Great video! Are all your wheels at the same height? Are there any drops? I'm wanting to do one, but I've been driving myself nuts over thinking everything. I want mine to come down off my roof, and I don't know if this one will be able to stay on track though.
+foxjena axworthy is super finicky. Get ready for hours of frustration. just setup and dialing in this year was 7 - 8 hours. 2 days. Amazing prop. Most popular prop. Ours are all same height. 22 feet up from the road.
Mayhem On Nassau "finicky" HA! That's saying the least! I started on mine just a couple days into October. Won't say I worked everyday on it, but just about. And then on some days, they went into overtime. I even recruited help of all sorts, refusing to give in to defeat.... Needless to say, it never flew. The week before, I had wiring problems. Got'em fixed a day before Halloween, but couldn't keep it on track. The worst part was that on Halloween, It rained....ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT......had to take down my motor. I still have it up. I refuse to give in....but yet, I don't have the desire for the headache and stress..... Think maybe I may just try Santa and Reindeer.......
