My family is from Poland, and I am from Warsaw. You can still see bullet holes from World War II on some buildings. These are mostly civilian buildings. Walking around Warsaw, one sees many, many plaques hanging on the walls, reminding people of the mass extermination of veterans and civilians. Reading the news about what the IDF is doing in Gaza reminds me of the massacres carried out in Warsaw, especially after the Warsaw Uprising, or the Ghetto Uprising. Both, completely doomed to failure due to lack of support, weapons, everything, but the people resisted against the occupier. Warsaw was destroyed 85-90% in an act of retaliation by the Nazis. What is the IDF doing after October seventh? Retaliation, right? After the Warsaw Uprisings, there were special brigades of Nazis to blow up or burn buildings in Warsaw, namely Brandkommandos and Sprengkommandos. What is the IDF doing now? Don't they have groups specially created for this as well? They wanted to break Poles, Jews, and other nationalities, like Belarusians or Ukrainians living in Warsaw. That they would move out to introduce a new order. and they almost succeeded. But Poland would not have existed, and the world order would have looked very different if the leaders of the time had not reacted. I feel disgusted by how the leaders of the Western world reacted to this by continuing to give military aid. Especially Germany, which adds its own brick to this massacre by sending almost 30% of total military aid to Israel, knowing full well where the red line is. History has come full circle, and we have not learned any lessons. Shame on the Israeli government, who use the same methods of pogrom that they themselves experienced as a nation. Disgusting.
