Happy birthday Seth!!! Not been running for a few years now due to health problems, every so often trying to see if i can get back into it, so haven't been following the channel much, but you have an amazing family, growing up fast. Great to see how you're doing and will check back to see if you beat that time you set for the mile next year (maybe earlier as well from time to time)!!!
Happy birthday Seth .Run my first sub 3 Mara in London at the age of 52 .Been pushing for it since my first Mara in 2020 when I ran 3.04 in the Demoor Global running virtual event, thanks you Seth ❤
Every year I run my age in miles. 29 now, started this when I was 15. Each year, I invite a bunch of friends out and do a 1 to 3 mile loop. Lots a folks join me a for a few laps or try to hang for the whole thing. Then we do drinks and party all night. Last year, I was told to slowdown and to start counting back down so I don't hurt myself...in response, this year, I decided to do my first 50 miler, got 10th place and just set my half marathon record..all with a bum knee. I'm taking some time off from running to focus on lifting, but gonna keep the tradition alive and keep pushing. I learned a lot about myself and what not to do when trying to stay healthy. I'm sure at some point I'll transition to biking the whole thing, but till then...just keep quitting on quitting. Cheers and happy bday!
I like this kind of tradition. For me, as an average runner who really started less than 10 years ago: can I do my 10km in less minutes than my age? 48yrs-old now, and done it for 5 years in a row!
I think shoe reviews have to consider the shoes' use case. We choose our shoes on any given day based on the conditions and what we hope to accomplish. For example, if I want speed and precision, I will use my Kjerags. If I want to just get miles in -- and that may include pavement -- I will use the Caldera 6. [And when I mean miles, I mean miles.]. The funny thing is that the Caldera 6 is a lot like the Speedland GS:TAM -- which means it probably would work for some ultras (and costs half what the Speedland costs). That doesn't seem like a 6/10 shoe to me -- it just means it is a shoe with a specific purpose and use case.
I have got this injury recently. It's getting better now. How much can I run with this injury. I used to cover 10-15 kms per day before injury. Can I go with about 5 kms (reduced pace and no hills) with some discomfort. Or will it get worse?
What the difference of the vaporfly 3 of women vs men? I am tempted to buy women coz it sucks that several months have passed and there’s no volt colorway for men…
Loved the 1 and 2, hated the 3. I felt like my Achilles was literally going to snap running in them - I sold them on ebay. I'm getting a pair of 4 from REI for $135 - they discounted their colorway, so I'm hoping I'll like them as much as the 2's. I did try a pair of the 4's on in a store when they firt came out and initial impression was tposititve. I'm crossing my fingers they feel as good as the 1st 2 Speed versions.
How would this be for long distance backpacking - Which would you choose from La Sportivas' low cut trail shoes. I hike on compact trails, soft sections and a lot of rocky (wet) trails - from Canadian Rockies. * I have the Bushido II and its nice as it has great grip, but not enough cushion
I’m just coming back to your channel today to look up old videos (because I buy old models of shoes) and I’m seeing videos that you posted after this one. I’m glad you changed your mind and didn’t stop posting videos. You’re one of the people whose thoughts on running and running gear really help me make my shopping choices. You also inspire and motivate me to get out there even if I don’t run anywhere near as fast as you or anywhere like the beautiful locations you hit. I run 9s and 10s and live in an area with very little foliage and grass. Keep posting, even if it’s taking a walk. Sometimes it gets hard to get out there. Your videos help.
Still considering glideride is a good shoe compared with all the technology in the market nowadays? It is interesting that the product after a couple of years of their release, are still pricy...
