A little late to the party here… But the size of your strings are very important with this pickup system. I was using 10s and the pickup would do a horrible job on the high E string. Additionally I would get nasty high end distortion that would really cut through the PA. Moved to 12s and this guitar is much better.
Hi, I have a IH 454 also. It is a very good tractor. I have a problem concerning clutch. I have no idea where I could order parts for that. The clutch parts I did found on the internet are half centimeter bigger than the clutch on my above mentioned tractor. Could I please get some help about this?
Hi, yes it is :) I have ordered parts from these, agrilineproducts.com/case-international/54-series/454/clutch and www.tractorparts.co.uk/international-1970-1985/74-series/454/454-drive-train-and-brakes?page=5, sounds very strange that the difference only is 5mm when the clutch kits are 280mm or 305mm, what is the size on yours?
beautiful job. im just beginning on a 574 the family has had since new, could you tell me the best source for things like instrument panel and grill etc ?
Serious, my father bought a new 354, I was born in Nov 1970, I can remember them delivering to him, it was a 1974, 4 cylinder desiel, had glow plugs, exhaust out through the bonnet, no cab.
Very nice bike :) would like to have one What other tanks than GS 550 -78 would fit the ES? And is there issues by ditching the original airfilter box, how to get engine to run smooth?
Thanks! I don't really know what other tanks who will fit, the 550 tank did require some mods too, when the original airbox is replaced the carburetors needs to be re-jetted because the increase of air, also good quality pod-filters helps and a way to restrict airflow otherwise the carburetors won't function as they are designed to
@@henric140 I guess you did everything right :) any change you could give me the specs on the jets/podfilters, cause I'm gonna do the same with my 1987 gsx 750 ES?
I highly recommend this podcast to anyone with ES2. It is very informative, the first half hour is other topics but they go into detail after. ru-vid.comkDzuh6mbdDc?feature=share
Hi Richard, Thanks! to bleed the brakes there is a bleeder screw on top of each rear axle, Require clean bucket and 1/4 or 5/16 inch clear tubing that will fit over bleed screw nipple. To bleed the brakes run the tractor until the hydraulic fluid reaches operating temperature. Run engine at fast idle , block rear wheels. 1)With tubing connected to nipple on bleed screw and other end in clean bucket, loosen bleed screw and let hydraulic fluid drain until air bubble free, then close bleed screw. Repeat on other brake. Do not pump brakes while bleeding. Top up hydraulic fluid with fluid caught in bucket, make sure transmission fluid level is full or over full. Also check for leaks by bottom of dash and along top of transmission cover. Brake lines run from under battery box along top of transmission to rear axles. You may have to repeat bleeding. /Henric
How is the output volume on your ES2? The reason I’m asking is that I find mine to be way quieter than, for example, a Stratocaster with vintage-style (i.e. fairly low output) single coil pickups. It’s still usable, but I find that I have to add quite a bit more gain on the amp to get equivalent volume. That’s also the reason I’m keeping mine adjusted fairly tight against the saddle. I know that piezo sensors don’t produce a lot of output on their own, but there’s a built-in active preamp. Just wondering what’s considered normal.
I think it's a little bit quieter if I compare with my other electro-acoustic guitars but I don't have mine adjusted too tight against the saddle, if I do then I do find the sound too bright and harsch, some say that there are 2 kinds of ES2:s, one low output and one with higher output but I don't know if that is the thruth...
Thanks for the video. I have the same guitar and have been struggling with the sound from my ES2 pickups. I love the dynamic range that I get from the pickups but it seems overly bright and harsh where I am hearing too much attack from the pick. I will definitely try backing off the pressure on the pickup screws slightly. I am also wondering how much effect temperature and humidity impact the pressure not he pickup and if it needs to have slight tweaks when the weather changes like you do for the neck.
For me it helped to back off the pickups a bit, adjust in small steps at the time, also to try different pics is a good start :) the ES2 is so sensitive compared to the other acoustic guitars that I have so to back off the pickups a bit was the right thing to do for me :) well I think the humidity affects a lot and is one of the most important things to monitor... I live in Finland so in wintertime the air is so dry, I keep the humidity at about 50% all the time with a humidifier
I have a 414ce-R which i believe is of similar construction, and I have not been 100% happy with my ES2 either. I was experiencing some harsh overtones and pick squeaking. I did back off the pressure for the pickups and it helped some. With the new V bracing Taylor uses, it makes the top more resonant and I wonder if this contributes to some of problems. To combat the harsh pick noise, I settled on using Dunlop Primetone series of picks. They are expensive, but they are the only ones i use on it now.
@@karrickhutchinson5258 ok, I have been tweeking around a bit more and I have to say that the guitar sounds better and better, I'm really pleased with how it is sounding now, I also purchased a new Taylor 224ce-K dlx and that sounds amazing too, a bit softer in the tone, I also tried Taylors own picks and they work great too :)
