Dear Sedgwick County officials: I don’t know if you’ll see this, but please, PLEASE hold on to your Thunderbolt sirens for as long as possible. When compared to the FS 2001’s, the Thunderbolt seems louder, more distinct, and does an all-around better job of alerting the public of the very real danger that is approaching. Johnson County has long replaced its Thunderbolt sirens, even if it wasn’t necessary. Don’t make the same mistake.
But yet, your website says cooking fires and backyard burn pits are ok. Which is it? The nicest month to make a fire in my firepit and enjoy the weather is a yes or no? If it's no, you need to change your web information.
Cooking fires and backyard fire pits are allowed under the ban. The ban applies to large brush, trash, and lagoon burns - the kind that would normally require a permit.
I'm excited to hear we need some consolidation, as long as it preserves the uniqueness of our communities. The Mental Health Hospital needs to have the capacity to expand beyond 100 beds unless this community is willing to explore and embrace non-traditional approaches as peer run crisis homes.

Would you want the psychiatric facility in your backyard? Would you want your children or grandchildren walking to school or playing in their yard near this acute mental and criminal institution? Would you want your property value going down because this asylum is in your back yard. Are these town hall meetings just to appease the poor people in this district to tell you that they are frightened. You saw an opportunity for donated land. So is it about money? Why not the vacant field south of your home? Why not put this facility next to the prison, away from town homes, women, and children? Easter...shame on all of you. Are these mentally and criminally ill people staying in this facility forever? No, you're going to put them on the street, aren't you! Why, why, why, and such a bad decision. None of you will get my vote again.

respectfully, you risk drowning yourself. it is not a question of bravery, but to recognize that attempting to rescue the initial victim in this situation is futile without the proper equipment and teamwork. consider how much training and resource you have on hand when you were not expecting an emergency vs the first responders who have a team of trained individuals.

The more lanes you add to the roads the more traffic will come. Just remember that when it comes to maintenance time. But im for making it safer to cyclist on S Webb. It is one of the only none "busy" streets to ride south. And by busy i mean its worse than Rock Rd honestly. Actually stopped riding on Greenwich because too busy but when i have to, I'll risk my life. Asked about putting 3ft passing rule sign on Greenwich and haven't heard nor seen anything. I guess the county doesn't care about my safety
