Well, on your recommendation, I got both a Quad Lock mount system and the DMD2 app - absolutely awesome, thanks. Had no choice about using a Universal Adaptor and a cheap waterproof phone case... I don't have an iPhone or a Samsung, so I had to go with a generic _fits-all-phones-under-6.9"_ case, anyway. Works a treat.
Cheers mate. Really good review. I was hoping it would show me how the 3P frames are supposed to be anchored, since I would have to use the "Universal" fitting kit. Your video was extremely useful and gave me the information I need. Earned you a subscriber.
If the S22 really is harder then for me the M( is going to wear out in mere hundreds of miles. I wore out my OEM S22 on my brand new MT-10 super fast and THAT was during break in on the bike! By 600 mile oil change I was already to the wear bars on rear....I tried very hard to push tire to 1000 miles but it was not possible to do and maintain any conscience/se;f respect! Bu 900 miles they were edge to edge BALD and the carcase with tire off was so thing wobbly flobbly the only evidence of it ever having any tread were some shadows of shallow grooves more toward the outsde....agai this was BREAK IN! Now I LOVED the tires I really did and was immediately leaning edge to edge....ALL my miles btw save the 100 mile commute home from dealership were in the mountains by my home meaning 90% thard core twisties ....ZERO burnouts or any such foolishness I am an old man not a hooigan I think the M9RRs are cheaper at the moment so if they can last even 3/4ths as long as S22s then they may still be worth it....btw I got I think 1300miles on the S22 front...which was only bald on the sides not the middle....but the sides were PATHETIC
These are great tyres especially for sport touring or street - they offer good grip, feel and good wear.. agree 9/10 all around is fair and getting a 10 is really chasing race tyres with low wear life or unicorns, I will definitely use Angel GT's again... although I only got one season out of a front but I think that was due to the inspector being a d... the workshop said they should have been fine for another season, bad luck... when the rear tyre flattens out with wear there is a slight edge you can feel off the flat spot when leaning, but this is really only near end of life and only noticeable when changed to a new one which rolls much easier Road feedback is far superior to Bridgestones which I think felt numb in comparison..
Old vid for commenting, but I just compared this with your S22 review. I've had M9RR previously, and I'm going to try the S22 next based (in part) on your comment about the harder rear center compound. I have to ride a full day of US interstates to find mountain twisties. Maybe I'll get some longer life? Hopefully the rain won't be problematic.
Or you could try the Pirelli Angel GTII. They are excellent in the wet, have a long life up to 10k km, dual compound and great in all conditions. I just did a review on them.
Been using Metzeler for over 20 years. ZX12R and for this it has been the only tire that gives a good steering and confidence with predictability. Now with silica tire the bar has been raised again. ZX14 and 200/55 (stock 190/50) M9RR seems to give all you want. Taller tire for better steering and grip with lean angles that makes this big bike feel like a liter bike.
Well, this video is 2yrs old but still spot on. I’ve ran Q3+ on my Ducati 1098 since they came out and they were just discontinued over the last year so I was looking for another go to tire. Saw a tire shootout where the S22 outperformed much more expensive shoes by quite a bit and were much cheaper to boot so I decided to slap a rear on to see how they handled. I distinctly thinking after that first ride that they had pretty awesome grip and I have never ran a tire further out on the edge than these. Definitely my new go to tires!
I got only 6000kms only on the front on my S1000R but the rear much longer. I don't know why such low milage compared to other reports on them. A local bike shop stopped stocking them because of "uneven tyre wear" I can only guess he had similar reports to mine.
My friend has a Super Duke 1300 or whatever and rides like an absolute idiot. Love the guy. He runs S22 after running many different tires. Loves them. Highly recommends them. Your tire life 100% depends on what you do with them.
I really like these tyres. I'm on my 8th set on a Superduke. Routinely get 9k out of the front and 5k to 6k out of the rear riding in the hills with full confidence. The wet weather performance is the best I've ever experienced.
I came here from your review on the M9RR tires and wanted to say, bloody fantastic. I wish there were more ppl as articulate and focused on the point as you, great job.
I had a set of these tires on my GSX-S750,,, total GARBAGE tires I got about 3500 miles on the set and I was pushing the tire wear limit. I don't ride hard. I ride mostly cruising the mountain areas lots of curvy roads. after about 2000 miles the rear tire started getting flat spot in the center. after about 2500 miles the rear tire started wearing out quickly. most defiantly would NOT recommend these tires for any street bike. I have a set of Perilli Angle ST's on the bike now..we'll see if these last, but they no longer make this tire now the are making the 'angle GT II'. again,, BRIDGESTONE tires are garbage,, you'll be lucky to get 3000 miles out of a set.
I live in Singapore , similar weather conditions with Thailand , constant rain and I'm constantly on the road .. which tyre would you say is best for both dry and wet weather conditions ?
I think the M9RR. I'm currently trying the Pirelli Rosso IV Corsa, and I'm very impressed, but it's dry season here, so I can't say how they are in the wet.
