Ich denke der Mann hatte einfach ein organisches Leiden. Z.B. Niereninsuffizienz, was zu "Wassersucht" und Wundheilungstörungen führt. Vielleicht hatte er auch Durchblutungsstörungen in den Beinen. Das kann auf einen genetischen Defekt hinweisen oder aber auch das Ergebnis einer Infektion sein. Mag sein, dass eine strenge Diät seine Krankheit etwas abgemildert hätte.

Second, if dueling big guns is the standard, then the last battle was at Surigao Strait in October of 1944.
