But... The example you used was just the equivalent of opening a scene file and using the extrude command to knock out part of your object, which doesn't require the "derive" command. Not quite getting it.

I have a question: Is it possible to change the look of the break on the 3D view projektion to a jagged look like the 2D projektions instead of the flat cut? I am hoping for a reply even though this tutorial is three years old. - Thanks in advance!

At the end you get a Style Conflict briefly but just go through it. Does it matter? I get that alot in mine and some people say not to ignore it. What do you think? Otherwise I liked the presentation.

You would go with the first option naturally right so its parametric? If the bolt holes change spacing at the sketch level, the fasteners should adapt to those changes right?

Whoah, I'm studying technical design and at my place of work where I'm a trainee, they only recently started using Inventor. So, I know the program better than they do since I had 6 months at school; but there's also a question of age here. The people who are supposed to educate me can't speak or read English, nor can they wrap their fully head around simple features like double-clicking and extruding.. Yeah... I haven't gotten a single assignment this week, so I spent my time on RU-vid tutorials and thanks to channels like this (SUBSCRIBED BTW!!) I might actually learn something. Thank you <3

after 3 years Hi ! well anyway , i have not seen all your video , but I think you should have started with an explanation with the Ribbon and how to customize it to appear like the way it appear ! , because my inventor apearance is not like yours (i mean the icons) !! and i dont know ho to custimaze it to appear exactly the way it looks yours , so i must do things differently so that i may have the same result as your ! Man ! Autocad they really do not good jobe when it comes about the appearance of the Ribbon!

Good evening, I am currently doing design work from a reverse engineering process for mechanical parts. Usually working in the Autodesk suit, the parts I am studying were developed in Solidworks. The function I am writing for is "thicken", which in inventor allows to select a direction (even different from the normal to the surface) (which obviously implies not being able to recreate the same component) I can't find an equivalent in either Inventor 2023 or Fusion 360. Do you have any ideas?

How do I increase the number of possible characters in a line? I can only type in a limited quantity of characters before it enters the characters below my intended line "wraps around". Is there a limit?

When mirroring entire assemblies, is there any way the relationship between both can be kept so that if a component of the assembly is repositioned it will do the same to the mirrored assembly?

Hello Alex. Your videos do initially look to be very useful. However, most of the videos have been done in Inventor 2021 and there seems to have been quite a change in the GUI between your 2021 release and what I am seeing in my 2023 release. I hasten to add that I have been using SolidWorks for a number of years but have just recently, this year, starting trying to use Inventor 2023 and am a few problems. One of which is the quick access toolbar seems to disappear when I'm trying to create a drawing! Help please?
