@@epickites unless you got a real fortune cookie the wind will be strong enough to unfold the kite but you can use the board this way to anchor yourself for more resistance to the kite. I’ll keep that in mind when I’ll get in trouble 😉
It is amazing what folks are doing on wings these days. There is a channel called JD'Followcam' and he is out in Maui. He flies a tiny 2M kite and a Mauiskimmers board on a foil and he shoots video of wingers and what those people, especially the groms are doing is mind blowing. They are setting the bar daily over there. Jumps that are crazy high, incredible distance, one-handed backflips where the wing never changes orientation to the wind, linking tricks, it is really the history of what is possible with a wing being written over there.
Dimitri quand vient tu nous rendre visite en France je fais parti d un club de landkite (nom du club BKT)en région parisienne dont le champion de France de mtb en personne est le président. On a quelques vidéos sur RU-vid pour te rendre compte BKT Kite. On aimerait tant t accueillir sur notre home spot et partager quelques rides , et pourquoi pas nous faire une journée test epic , nous sommes principalement équipé en ailes à caisson FS si tu veux test. Dimitri´s Videos always are state of the art and much more interesting as most of the other "Pro" Videos with their endless kiteloop- and rotation stuff, backgrounded with ADHS music.
I've been struggling too with getting up on a high aspect foil kite.... having come from LEIs. The foil kite generates a LOAD of power when it is moving but very little when it is static. With a small hydrofoil often I need to do a second sine to get a another injection of power but turning the kite quickly chokes it and it stops before building the power again - meanwhile I sink/fall in. Definitely the up stroke is more powerful and the backstall to up-stroke through the power zone as you describe will be my next step. Thanks!! Looping the kite I have been trying but is tricky though as there are degrees of looping a big slow loop creates GOBS of POWER and jettisons me over the top of the board (I am strapless) .... a tight quick loop not so much - my kite almost spins with very little power so I need to play with the loop radius to create just the right amount of power to get me up and potentially multiple loops to keep the kite moving until I am generating the apparent wind to keep me going. Not much success yet - I will master it though!!!
