I’m so glad i discovered your channel. I’ve played guitar for many years and am just so regretful that i never learned much theory. All i wanted to do when i was you was simply learn songs. I find all of this so fascinating and fun.
I always get something from even your lessons that are not too technical or cover subjects that may sound pretty basic. I also love it when you demonstrate something and I can honestly say “Hey! I’ve been doing that for years! Is THAT what you call it!?”
Another amazing lesson that I have to learn! Love the licks & turnaround & playing with the drum track really ties the song together. This should be pretty easy for just about anyone & sounds so good. Thank you Brian! 🎸
I know almost all there is to learn about music theory and visualizing the fretboard and I still can't come up with such fluid ideas like this. Idk how you do it 😭
Hey Brian, you'll never know how much I needed this RIGHT NOW in my life. Im 65 years old and have been playing for many years. Im in a bit of a slump and needed your "spot on" advice for more productive practice. I did play today. However, I will begin tomorrow morning with a strong cup of coffee and a better plan with specific objectives for practice. Thank you so much!
Another Terrific lesson. Every time I watch your videos, I feel like the guitar knowledge door creeks open just a bit further. I don't know how else to explain it. Players all around certainly feel the same. Thanks Brian. I would have never came up with that five chord embellishment. Brilliant.
Hi Brian, I got alot out of what you said and it's true. Some of your lessons I would see the label and think ahhh but that's exactly why I love your melodic country lessons. In fact I look for them now, lol, because their like you said, sounds more like someone singing and sounds great and makes you play different, better. Makes me get into it more, I feel it more.
Another great track, looking forward to getting this one up to speed. I'm struggling to think of any constructive criticism! Last week's lesson was titled something like 'learn this to play like a pro..' which was a little clickbaity. Glad you've gone back to the usual simple straightforward title this week - just my taste, I dislike all these videos with silly titles like 'learn this one thing to MASTER the guitar!'
I’ve viewed many pages of guitar lessons but none of them have been as inviting, motivating and as encouraging as yours. Please continue to share your love of music!
I have tried to play and what you have shown is very helpful, but my problem is with using the pick, is there any kind of learning tool to help with using a pick. I am a former Bass player, but would love to learn to play blues guitar, any advice would be greatly appreciated
This has a great sound, Brian. Which guitar ya playin'? The bass tone is great for this. Love the idea of playin' with a drum track, too. Actually never tried it, I'll usually add percussion by tapping or slapping the gee-tar. Sometimes slappin' dem strings works, too! Anyhoo, thanks! As usual! 👍 👌 🤪
that classic blues walk down utitilzed the root and itt 6th, I've notied... it sounds really good, my question are there other variations that sound good? i tried the rooth and flat 7th but it wasn't nearly as satisfying
Thanks Brian, this is a fun lesson. I was first inclined to fingerpick it which does work well, and once I've got it down will work on hybrid picking it w/flatpick since that's one of my weaker skills. Great balance of muy stealable licks backed up with theory, as always. Understanding why something works is so darn important IMO - Mark
Hi Brian, again a delicious one! 😐 didn’t see aaall of your videos, of course, but I would be curious to ear you talking about the « before the time / in the time/ after the time » notion of play… 🤓 Wish you the best. Please go on.
