I know who ever posted this video probably won't see this comment but I wanted to comment on here and say Thank you for posting this video. I came across this video years ago and just out of curiosity for my dad. My dad went to Elvis's 25th anniversary concert and my dad also dressed up as Elvis Presley and I was amazed and so was my dad when we came across this video and seen him he is at the 2:30 mark in this video he is wearing a black jump suit and a blue scarf, my dad was so excited when he seen himself in someone's else's video. He thought he was like a celebrity lol. To this very day I still go back on RU-vid and watch this video I was 6 years old when my dad went to Graceland and im now 25. But I am also a huge fan of Elvis thanks to my dad. But Thank you so much for this video! 12/09/2020 Elvis Presley will forever be the king in our hearts and his legacy will forever live on.
i wish that everyone who misses the days of REAL street cars would tweet to the discovery channel, and street outlaws and tell them we want a show like street outlaws. except make it a class similar to F.A.S.T., but with no restriction on tire WIDTH! do anything you want to the car internally, but it must be on a treaded street tire!!
That 340 duster pulling a almost flat 12 second will beat alot of modern muscle cars. Vette, Camaro, mustangs, the modern mopars, even the Hellcat, its just too fuckin heavy. A body mopars kick ass
Lots of great memories of Dover when the likes of the HEMI-HONKER, RAMCHARGERS, COLOR ME GONE,THE UGLY DUCKLING, THE GROCERY GETTER, DOBBS FERRY FORD FAIRLANE, THE GREEN MONSTER AND OF COURSE GARLIT'S SWAMP RAT and scores of others all 'got it on' at Dover . . . those were the days !
@@soxfunny98 people like the street outlaws should be ashamed!! full bodied cars, with engines that are actually from Detroit, and turning mid 10's on a 7 or 8 inch wide street tires! plus these are just real cars, unlike the purpose built shells of the street outlaws. dollar for dollar. or pound for pound, the f.a.s.t. class guys are the clear winners!
My dad used to run at Dover in the 1960s. Had a '60 348 Impala, '63 327 Impala, and '65 GTO all in a few short years. I never got to go; I was three when it closed, but at least Lebanon Valley Dragway in upstate NY carries on much of the spirit of what Dover WAS like then. Same feel of an old track out in a nice rural area, and the annual MusclePalooza shindig is always superb. I hope we get to see more Dover footage and hope to get the DVD when it's completed. A book would also be nice!
I raced a friends banshee on the return road about 6 years ago. Had to navigate around the trees that fell on it, but I can say that I raced on the old strip!
This is easily, my favorite drag racing class, period. Having always loved sleepers, this is the ultimate. I so wish this was on the western part of the country. It is actually inspiring me to do my next several engine builds, with a very OE appearance, useing tricks these guys use internally to make up the difference, and then some. Who needs headers or slicks, not these guys. Amazing numbers.
Dover drag strip is completly torn up. the only thing left is return road. And the rumors of it being underwater are fake. there is no water in sight around that place.
From what I heard. This strip is now partly underwater now. Rumors have that they might drain the water and try and reopen it. Then again. its only rumors.
