The CCTV Security Supplies RU-vid channel is a free resource to explain via video how to run cables, the right cable to run for a particular piece of equipment, how to connect the equipment, and basically everything else you need to know to get your CCTV, alarm system, or intercom system (plus lots more) turned on and working properly. We have 'How to' tutorials going through the settings for everything we sell....whether your doing through a live view monitor of TV, or through a web browser on your laptop or desktop. We also have product reviews, in-depth technical discussions, best practices, tips on things to avoid, and most importantly we provide ALL the resources and information anyone needs (including electricians and installers) to absolutely get an amazing professional job done while being extremely price conscious.
Have you noticed that the min/max detection is different than usual, as you are inputting on a 4:3 preview, while the camera feed is more like 32:9? I'd expect the detections at the side would be skewed compared to ones in the middle?
Ive tried to install the app on another phone, as an existing user i can log on after installation but when i click on one of the camera windows(which is blank,) i get a prompt to enter an encryption password...is this my wifi password or something else? It's not my log on pass. I've tried that. Any ideas,?
The symbol alarm is not present on the application hik-connect, i don't know how to set up this event on the area ? Now, is the symbol of notification.
Hi there. I have a DS-7216HUHI-K2 (DVR) with a few BNC cameras and recently added a DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL IP panoramic camera to the system and much as this DVR supports IP camera connectivity, it doesn't seem to like the image format/resolution from this camera . It connects to it and all the settings are available.. but the image from the HDMI/VGA output just remains blank for this cam (only) but I can view it thru the app. I believe it's possibly a resolution issue.. something to do with the decompression of the stitched images or in inability for the DVR to process the stream but I'm not sure. Have you seen this before and if so, what's the issue? Also, if there's no "fix" for this, would you please recommend a DVR (for 4-8 BNC & 16 IP), that works with these panoramic dual lens IP cams? Thanks.
Hi Jo I have seen this many times and I think you'll find that your live view can't display the panoramic camera in mainstream. At the bottom of the image if you switch from mainstream back to substream I think it will display the panoramic camera for you. The limitation is usually the display resolution of the monitor or TV. But it can be a resource limitation of the DVR as well, or a mixture of both.
@cctvsecuritysupplies5304 mentioned in a comment below that this is 2 x 4MP ? The camera is 8MP but because of 2 lenses it's 4 Each ? - I need to buy 5 new cameras and DVR - need advice if all 5 panoramic is a good idea or not
Hi Thomas apologies for the delay. I think the NVR we were using at the time was a DS-7608NI-I2/8P. The M- Series NVRs are available now and they have even more processing power.
Hi Sue hopefully your recorder (NVR) has a monitor plugged into it? If so go to System -> Network -> Advanced -> Platform Access and you will find the verification code on that screen. You might need to click the little eye to show you the code.
Hi Sampath, the SADP software is just Hikvision proprietary software we use to find any Hikvision device connected to your LAN, or home network. So the NVR doesn't connect to the SADP software, but the SADP tool will find the IP address of the NVR 😊
Hi! Thanks for the video! I have an issue, i can not playback from my NVR because the camera's resolution is too high 5120x1440? Is there a solution or just the local connection to the NVR from the web interface is the answer? (or hik-connect which seems limited to 2min videos for downloading)
Hi Cristi, we either use a live view (monitor/ small tv) plugged into the NVR, or if we're using a Web browser we generally use Chrome. I personally have the panoview on my home and have never had a playback bandwidth problem. Do you have H.265 and especially H.265+ enabled. This data compression is awesome but it CAN create some anomalies. We've found this with remote playback over Star Link. H.265+ and Star Link protocols don't seem to be aligned just yet. But any local connection (over your LAN) should never have bandwidth issues. As for Hik-Connect.....it is one of the really good vendor apps, but I use it in moderation for playback. All the other functions are fabulous, as is the playback, but we're in Australia, and the internet in the country is appalling. Much smaller and less developed countries have internet services about 15 to 20 times better than Australia. Sad but true😔 I would try adjusting your H.264/H.265 for starters.
@@cctvsecuritysupplies5304 I have 3x Hikvision Panoramic (the bullet one) each 8MP and 4k, and the NVR is also a Hikvision which can output 4k and has 8 PoE ports supporting 8mp each. I can see them live on the NVR, but when i try to playback, i receive a message "IP camera resolution limit exceeded". I can playback them on the local network with internet explorer, or on Hik-Connect, but not on the NVR, which frustrates me.
What I highly suggest is getting a proper NVR solution, e.g. a PC with Blue Iris. It's more expensive, but man... I wouldn't know what I would have done without it.
only certain hikvision NVRs can display the minimum resolution of these cameras. your only options are to use the web interface or upgrade your NVR. but, as someone that just upgraded the NVR I can confirm that it does work but it still only displays the camera at 16:9 ratio. to view the proper widescreen format you still need to use the web interface.
Thank you so much🥳 It's a bit long but I'm working now on making new, better, and SHORTER videos 😂 Sitting here working on it right now actually....stay tuned🙏
Wow, thank you so much🙏 we're so busy doing what we do in business that making these videos is difficult to find the time for, but I'll never give up trying to find the time😅 There WILL be more.....thank you😁🙏
At 16:20, why would you WELCOME someone that is ON your property? Unless this was for a store front where you ARE welcoming people. Your choice of course.
Hi Rick, yes the "Welcome....." messages are not used very often. We have decided we're not too keen on any of the in-built messages so we have recorded our own WAV files which we also load onto our customers devices now. Uploading a custom message is really easy.
At 4:50, you are correct about disk savings with h.265 and +. BUT, BUT, the video quality of h.265 compared to h.264 is TERRIBLE. Straight up h.264 and h.265 compared is rather large. The more compression the poorer the video quality is. H.265 has MORE compression in macro blocks. Read up on it. Also compare the two IN YOUR OWN CAMERAS and see for yourself. Trust me sir. I did the 265 and + deal. As soon as you try to zoom in the video gets nasty real quick. You want CONSTANT bitrate type, H.264 with NO PLUS, HIGH profile and matching I frames with your frame rate setting.
Thank you🙏👍 I'm trying to make these regularly but it's difficult as I install, service, support, sell and distribute all over Australia for a living. Doesn't leave much time🤣🤣
Hi Andrew, thank you very much for the video, it is probably the best introduction to the world of HIKVision I have found on the net! What I'm missing, however, is an explanation of how to connect a standalone camera (i.e. without a VCR) via the Hik-Connect app over the Internet (i.e. while travelling and not via WLAN in your own network). I think this will probably require the DDNS configuration, which is unfortunately not mentioned in this video. It would be great if you could create a guide for this! Thank you very much and please keep up the good work!
OMGosh, I'm so sorry that I've only just seen this now. I was replying to another gentleman and I saw your comment - and my LACK of reply I'm sorry!!! You can indeed connect a single camera to Hik-Connect no problem at. Can I ask what model camera it is please ? I would be very happy to help you and my apologies again for the crazy long delay.
Don't worry about it! But as you can imagine, I was able to solve all the problems with the connection of my DS-2CD2T87G2P-LSU/SL myself for the time being ;-) Thanks for your feedback anyway
Hi Ishan thank you very much. I have about 30 more videos to make but we honestly do this job for real, so finding time to make videos is actually quite hard but we'll get there😀👍
I have had the 8 mp version and was not satisfied with it. I had 2 complaints about the camera. 1. My network was so heavily loaded by the camera that some devices functioned very poorly and sometimes could not even be reached. 2. The camera was connected directly to the NVR and was recording 24/7. As a backup, I always use an SD card recording of the motion detection by default. Just in case a malfunction occurred. Often the camera kept writing motion to the SD card even though no motion was detected, so it basically kept recording continuously, which of course was not the intention. Eventually I returned the cameras (tested 2 of them) within 14 days. I found this difficult, because the images were very nice. Thank you from the Netherlands
Hi Hielke thank you very much🙏 The 8MP Panoramic demo camera we installed still "seems" to working well, but we will definitely have a much closer look. The network bandwidth is easy to see through the NVR, but we can plug in to an isolated poe switch as well.we don't have a micro SD in our demo camera but we'll try that.
@@cctvsecuritysupplies5304 I am very curious about the results of your test with the SD card, because somewhere I would love to have this camera. Please let me know the outcome? I had initially connected the camera to a POE Switch, then directly to the NVR, well one that can handle the heavy duty tasks of this camera (NI series). In both cases I could not set up the camera as I would like.
Hoi, wat bedoel je precies qua netwerk? Welke apparaten kon je daarna niet meer gebruiken ? Het is in principe toch niet meer dan 2x een 4mp camera, zoveel kan het toch niet gebruiken ?
@@marc8136 Hi Marc, you are correct. The load that 2 x 4MP cameras puts on a network (even a 10/100 Mbps network) is barely perceptible. But the ColorVu Panoview camera is new and who knows what a new product might introduce. Having said that, we have been trying everything to reproduce the problem but still no issues have found.
Hi Thomas, thank you so much!!! I have decades of IT and technical experience, but I still have my RU-vid video making training wheels on. I need to pedal faster 😅!!! I will start the P2P / Platform Access video today and will hopefully upload it in the next 24 hours. I really appreciate the prompt, thank you very much🙏🙏🙏
Hi Roman, yes almost all Hikvision cameras work on the HiLook NVRs. But not all features will work on the HiLook NVRs....yet!! The most prominent feature is LiveGuard and the ability to arm and disarm AcuSense and ColorVu via Hik-Connect. I don't know when, or if, that will ever be possible as the products develop.
Hi @gamsports9354 it's been a long year building our business and the next HUGE thing for us to do more 'How To' videos !!!! I'm genuinely working on creating our list of up-and-coming videos today (really !!) so they start appearing again hopefully next week 😁👍
ive got two of these acusense cameras on my dvr, the tech guys that set it up set them up as analog..with loadshedding here in South africa, I am trying to keep my cctv on or just one of these that face the road...how can I change this one to connect to network like an ip camera? The wires etc are all in the roof - would I need to go in there (sigh) or can it be done another way.
Thank you Mick🙏🙂 A bit long winded and missed a few details but I'm learning to make quicker videos with better advice and information. Hoping to make this channel a really awesome repository for everything to do with electronic security. The next few years are going to be mind blowing with what's coming!
Hi Seal, thank you....and you are 100% correct !! I need to edit this video and add in the max and min explaination but especially add in how to set up LiveGuard properly !!!!!!! Maybe a whole new video would be easier 😂 I've been a tech for many years but a novice at videos and RU-vid🤦♂Getting there slowly, thank you.
@@andrewbradley6903 you should try no wdr .. adjust contrast down a bit (40) and change exposure to 1/50 - then compare your settings at night to what i just suggested. no 265+ only 265. watch the diffence in motion blur
@@Corkhead75 Hi and thank you very much, I really appreciate the suggestion😁 I love these ideas and suggestions....it's interesting how different settings can alter the result so much. That's something I've never tried, but I'm definitley 100% going to now !!! Thanks again🙏🙏🙏
1/ Why won't you check Human checkbox in Basic Event -> Motion Detection? 2/ Does Basic Event -> Motion Detection need to be checked for Smart Event's Line Crossing/Intrusion detection to work? Or they can just work separately? 3/ How reliable is the acusense camera? My DS-2CD2347G2-LSU/SL with lastest firmware doesn't seem to be very reliable even when sensitivity/ect... set lower/higher. Thanks
