We love riding that area! We try to get over there once every couple years. Babcock is a beautiful park, especially in the fall! Thanks for a great video
Lovely 3rd gear road with no traffic; I am envious. Lovely bike but I am biased with one of my rides being a 2017 R9T Pure I morphed into a cafe racer. Good luck with your channel. Kind regards from Vancouver Island BC Canada 🇨🇦
60 and 16 is some of the best riding in WVa. You missed the best part of the bridge run. Riding under the bridge and across the river on the old bridge.
my husband and i ran from michigan to virginia and road up all these roads all the way north to allegany new york ,,all 2 lane roads only way to go we did this about 87 pre internet life... it will never be like it was again ,,, all the good places are now full of tourist posers ,, what a shame .. our best was 936 miles in a day when we road santa barbara cal to michigan . cb 750 E honda bike was 10 years old when we left,, not one issue the whole trip with the bike ..zero ,,we road double on a 10 year old honda and had zero issues with the bike ,,, california to michigan with a big pack of gear zero issues ,,,
inflatedmann Glad you enjoyed it. The old Bond Beemer leans better than most cruisers but I got nearly all it had on that descent trying to keep up with sport bikes (much steeper downhill and tighter curves than the camera shows). lol
This is an awesome video - it has actually inspired a buddy and I to take a similar trip this summer. Is there any way you could share the exact route you took? We would also be leaving from Atlanta and think this entire route looks great.
I rode in the New River Gorge many times. I highly suggest heading down into the gorge and across the Fayette Station Bridge, the old bridge. Also a visit to Grandview and to Thurmond are highly suggested.
I really enjoyed this. Even the music fit well. Being from New England, I recognized some things. Especially in New Hampshire. BTW, Maine is "ME". Massachusetts is "MA".
Great video! I live in far Western Massachusetts and am familiar with many of the area's you visited. Acadia NP is my favorite on the entire East Coast. New England has so many areas to ride. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
This was the week before Labor Day 2015, so last week of Aug to first days of Sept. I got great weather - was a lot warmer than expected in Maine that week. I would say early September would be perfect. Plan it, do it, and you won't be sorry! The whole area was great for riding.
Hi Paul, my name is Shirley Heath I work for the Council of the Southern Mountains, Welch, WV. We are a community action agency and nonprofit. The council has been working on a tourism initiative for McDowell County and southern West Virginia to help rebuild the devastated economy of this area. So far I have done two brochures, one completed website visitmcdowellcountywv.com. I am now working on a new website for a new project which is called "Head of the Dragon" a motorcycle ride that will complete the body of the dragon series in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and now WV. This event will take place Sept 16, 2017 starting in Welch, WV and will take in 91 miles of McDowell County two lanes roads. All the videos and photos rights to use for the promotion to help the people of southern WV. I am asking if you will allow me to use your video of New River Gorge motorcycle trip. I can be reached at these address. I am working at home today trying to get the site done (headofthedragonwv.com). shirleyheath835@yahoo.com work. Shirley Estep Heath, hi, I logged on to your websites with intention of sharing them on my Facebook page. I look forward to making my way down to WV on two wheels this coming summer to experience as much of the beauty that West Virginia has to offer. Thank you!
Looks awesome. Might have to make it out that way someday. I've been around Seneca Rocks but thats a bit farther, might try it though. Looked like a good day of riding. Keep safe.
+Loosie Boosie Thanks! The Gorge area has some good roads & sights. Will get up there again and also head further north to Seneca Rocks area too - WV has some good roads to enjoy.
