Talladega National Forest is a good place to do a day trip if you live in the area. Several good backroads lead up to Skyline Road (Hwy 281), which is well paved with lots of good sweepers. Good exploring along the side roads to camping areas, and several gravel roads for adventure bikes or scramblers.
