I've seen much better trains, and they are not even "luxury" or "first class", lol, the only cool thing is the "panoramic " view and Switzerland itself of.course.😂

Slovenia and Croatia can afford to buy the newest Swiss trains, while in Netherlands (known as a public transport heaven) they keep on operating some outdated shitty trains. So embarrassing
@SuperalbsTravels
@SuperalbsTravels 6 часов назад
Slovenia and Croatia also have a lot of older trains in services, though generally they are well maintained. In fact, in Croatia many of the new trains are very unpleasant, with modern commuter trains (think 'Sprinter') being used on 4hr journeys or longer... once a day is a bit disapointing considering that when i'm on holliday in croatia i'd totaly do a rail trip to some random military museums when they are connected enough
@dannyboy-vtc5741
@dannyboy-vtc5741 9 часов назад
Oh you got local trains for that for sure, in season probably seasonal trains, shouldn't be a problem. I bought a train ticket from rijeka to pula, somewhere in 92, was used to trains in flat slavonia, didn't get it that those two don't have a direct connection thru istria, got gobsmacked when we showed up on the border, luckilly even in 92, you could pass it with just an i.d. card, so they told me i had to change trains in pivka and divaca again, and after 6 hours, 2 border crossings and 3 trains i got to pula finally - it was definitelly an experience haha!

@@dannyboy-vtc5741 yeah, but 6 hours of traveeling one way is a bit much for a daytrip
@dannyboy-vtc5741
@dannyboy-vtc5741 7 часов назад
@@DerZocker2000000 nope it's not 6 hrs, that was in 92, rijeka pula connection, and they cold blooded sold me a ticket not warning me what it is for, i've got half way to ljubljana then back thru entire istria to the point of istria where pula is situated. To that military museum you have maybe an hour ride, hour and a half at most. I went from one croatian city to another thru two train changes in another country, like a verly long v path instead of a short straight line, as the railway tunnel thru ucka mountain does not exist yet, only a road tunnel, i think that trip was also longer by mileage than this one bwtween three countries, pula is not connected with the rest of croatia, except thru slovenia, and that is also the round way. It's a curiosity, i like those trips arpund thru local trains when i have time, like here when i went to zagreb, i'm on the northern line along drava river, but sometimes i'd go down south thru one local and hilly line in slavonia, and then via southern slavonian line, along sava river toward the west and zagreb, later in late 90s they reconstructed the third line, a local one that goes thru the middle, also bit hilly for this part of the country, which is rare for a line that was closed down already in yu times to be reconstructed later when railways generally had less funding due to war and other expenses, but i've got technically three routes to zagreb to chose from my town, and that is a lot compared to southern parts of croatia like dalmatia or istria. Sorry for a rant, but yeah, no you don't have 6 hrs to that museum, it's a misunderstanding, an hour or a bit more, google it before you go to your vacations.

Just made a return trip From Truro to London for 2day hospital appointment. Up in 3rd class(aka standard) I found the seats in Burmese hand me down more comfortable than the horrible 3rd class seats. Got a first class upgrade return using Seatfrog. Lounge at Paddington was disappointing. Quite small, and seats not all that comfortable and only limited supply of snacks. Nice selection of drinks though. First class on train was more comfortable than 3rd class but the rough ride of the train brought back memories of the bucking and rolling of a train trip in Myanmar from Pyinoolawin to Kokteik viaduct. The trolly service was disappointing.as in the lounge drink choices wre fine but snacks very limited just biscuits crisps and fruitcake. No sandwiches. We were on 18:00 train and it was fortunate we had had a late lunch. I wondered at first why one passenger came on with a Burger King bag...didnt take long. So agree with everything mentioned in video. 3rd class seats that are worse than developing countries trains. 1st class seats adequate but inferior to those elsewhere snacks in lounge and train very limited esp in 1st class. In travelling over a meal time eat beforehand or bring your own food along. You wont get much on the train. Total distance they have no buffet car in either class and only an expensive meal service on a very limited number of trains. That's progress for you. GWR were hoodwinked getting these trains

@dannyboy-vtc5741
@dannyboy-vtc5741 9 часов назад
Omg, another dumb serbian, nope, in fact italy and croatia signed a treaty, before croatia entered schengen, some year earlier during the preparations, treaty about eternal non changing of the border lines between our countries, in other words they give up on istria forever, we give up on trieste forever, and in that treaty we also split entire adriatic in half on our two respective exclusive economic zones, just our two countries. Anyways you don't have nor will ever get such a treaty with hungary, and they already have vojvodina by realestate they bought and their political party there, in the first crisus that happen it will only be formalised finally, and kosovo, well that's long time gone already - but nice try serb, from the new year electronic visas if you wanna enter civilisation, think about that for a change.

The new ICs are not that bad but that's because the new REs aren't bad either. The problem is that an IC ticket is more expensive than a RE ticket, even for the same distance, so you should get a lot more for your money and that's just not the case. It's not dramatically faster, there's not a lot more space or comfort, so what are you even paying for?

Nice vid as always. Haha I also bought the same bag and got a t-shirt and quick dry towel, and a coffee mug from an associated shop that sells SZ stuff at the main stations and also the Railway Museum in Ljubljana when there in Oct last year. Grem z vlakom! I hope once all the big track works are done, these will also run on another Slovenia-Croatia cross border route, Ljubljana-Pula, which is also a gem with some great scenery esp up on the ridgeline going down the Istrian Peninsula, and Pula is well worthwhile for a visit. It's a shame none of the rail youtubers have ventured on this route (though the past few years there's been extensive rail upgrading works on the Slovenian side of the border as i encountered last year). I have also "crossed"this path, or the part from Italy heading towards Ljubljana and onto Zagreb/Belgrade/Budapest back in 2009 when I took a seat on the Casanova Euronight night train that used to run from Venice. It would be so cool if that international night train was re-established. I agree that if they were going to use the Flirts for regional and international routes of 1.5hrs +, then they should've been fitted with seat back tables. That"s pretty poor by today's standards. However like you on the plus side, when I took these flirts on domestic services last year, I found them pretty comfortable.

The train is only allowed to go at that speed because they realised too late that it will fall off the rails at higher speed on the curves. Also, those trains have a veeeery bad Aircon cause they wanted to save money and they usually do not work anymore above 30°C. If they would have installed a better one (which they never do because those are heavier and more expensive and so the train will also be slower) the IC would be slower than an IC. So this train is nothing more than a RE with carpet and nothing more.

China also built the world's first desert high-speed railway, the Mecca-Medina high-speed railway in Saudi Arabia. It opened in 2018 and served millions Muslims going to Mecca. Max speed 360 kmph, normal speed 300 kmph, same as much touted Indian bullet trains built by Japan.
