- Computers I recommend to anyone who wants to jump into coding/controls head first is to take advantage of the Arduino. You may need to make a small investment in purchasing these parts, you can find an Arduino UNO for $11 from HobbyKing.com. Much like electronics, there is a lot of good content on programming the micro-controllers with examples, I will link these in Mega Mechatronics playlists. I will provide supplemental content on this topic to fill the voids on youtube.
I watched your complete series, I've got a W203 C32 AMG with 3.2l M112k supercharged motor and going to add twin turbo's from a W204 C43 AMG to compound supercharge it. Wish me luck.
Thanks for the video! I have to undertake this lower gasket change on my '99 4.3L engine becasue of internal coolant leakage. Doing this job did you line up top dead center compression stroke on #1-cylinder, other videos I've seen show folks doing that but if a guy marks the distributor position it shouldn't really matter is my thoughts.
You are welcome! For the distributor, certainly don't rotate it once you remove it otherwise static timing will be off and the engine probably won't run. Setting it to TDC cylinder 1 compression stroke with the cap off the distributor and you can see spark plug #1 is over the rotor sounds responsible with some extra steps. Some call me lazy, some call me efficient.

I recently purchased a case of Berkbile 2+2 Gum Cutter and boy was I shocked. They changed the formula and it is not as good as the original. I have been suing 2+2 since the early 70's and have had a can in my arsenal ever since. The latest acquisition may have changed my opinion of it forever. It does now work as well. I guess our government is again protecting us senselessly. The EPA has more authority than Congress and what they do with regulations imposed should actually go through Congress for a vote. Who gave them this much authority? I believe they just usurp it as needed and no one has objected to date other than those that were fined. Talk about herding sheep....
For the cruze mounts I used a 2 part urethane fill with additives to make it last longer and pigment; vacuum degassed prior to pouring. Stuffing the mounts full of aluminum scrap was effective. 40 durometer is a pretty good compromise harder than this you'll need to up the idle speed as there may be a harmonic causing a shaky idle.
In Alaska we would buy the -40 washer fluid, but that's for alaska only (says on the bottle. Been buying snow performance boost juice since i had to move down south to Maine. Used to be 50 bucks for 4 gallons of boost juice, but now i went to buy some and it's freakin' 75 dollars. in Alaska I paid 3 bucks for a gallon of the blue juice. It went to 4 just before I left in 2021. 18 a gallon is insane, i'm looking at mixing my own but having trouble sourcing anyone within an hour of me who sells methanol.
@@MegaMechatronics I already bought 5 gallons of methanol and i'm mixing it myself. I made the 1 hour drive up north to buy it. car seems fine. no knocking so far. $65 bucks for 5 gallons of pure methanol isn't too bad IMO.
How did u get yours off , I'm struggling, I removed the 3 long blots and the 2 studs. I can wiggle the bracket but it won't move forward . Any suggestions
@@atownda_realesttv5585 did you get the ones as shown @6:33? I did what I said above, I removed the compressor and cut the bracket for the intake to clear and gain access. I wasn't going to go through all that nonsense removing the entire bracket just to gain access. IF there is an issue, then I'll make some support tabs (so far all is well). The A/C compressor does not need that much support! I work with buses and specialty conversion vehicles, one bus has 3 A/C compressors and they are only held on with 2 bolts and are just fine!

Run power from battery to inline fuse holder to switch.. power from switch to power on accessory.. accessory ground to negative terminal/ground. Doesnt need to be that difficult.
Please don't listen to this guy with the silicone yeah it plugs up the screen then it starts the engine of oil and as far as Transmissions go they got a filter in the pan this guy wouldn't work on my motor
I'm about to do this on a blazer, I'm going to cut that corner off the compressor bracket, such a horse shh design! It certainly don't need 4 bolts to hold the compressor
Been compound twincharging since 2007. No clutches on supercharger, no bypass, straight compound turbo feeding supercharger. It works flawlessly, with a nice phat powerband the whole rev range.
@@Zubin019 it hasn't been on a dyno for over 5 years and had some issues when on the dyno then, which have been fixed. It did a measly 232hp to 5500rmp with a boost leak and 375nm of torque. It never went back onto the dyno, I adjusted tune myself after rectifying the issues. I'd have guess over 300hp and at least 400nm torque now on what is still a safe tune. Torque was what I am after more so than outright HP. Twincharging isn't done for outright HP, torque and big powerband through the whole rev range. Would make more outright HP with turbo alone.
@@Zubin019 Thanks. The whole car, engine build, ecu install etc I did myself in the shed. Very budget orientated. haha But somehow even with my shitty driving the car wins it's class in most events I enter.
Good video, good info. But setting aside the "industrial" requirements for service life benefits can you tell me how glass bead blasting by a DIYer in his garage at say 60-90 psi compares to real shot peening? I realize you can't determine the exact energy transfer in such uncontrolled environment, but is glass bead blasting even in the ballpark of kinetic energies required or would we have to bump up the pressure to above 100psi basically destroying glass beads?

I have to replace my intake manifold gasket on my 2000 Bravada 4.3 is thisbthe swme motor? Reason i qsk is when you popped the intwke manifold off i didn't see wny soider injector? Ive never had one off so just wanting qs much information qs possible thanks rorbthe video
The delta s4 still has the best application of a twin charge setup They blow through the super charger yes but they dont spool the turbo with the super charger(which is a better set up to me) The ideal set up for me when i have the means is to use the super charger to feed the engine at low rpm. With its own intake path. Then the turbo comes online and has its own path. And feeds the engine. Maybe declutch the super charger like lancia did to reduce drag on the engine but i will not but blowing into the super charger or vice versa
Just stumbled on you and your content I can tell has a lot of work. Between setting up the camera, film the content, edit, presentation… dude ur killing it. I hate filming, but love teaching. Looks like ur the same. I have a quick question if you could help. Starting a twin, I was debating on how to shut of sc when getting turbo. Post pressure in the high rpm…. What did you use to switch where pressure is coming from? These sc have a clutch on the snout I can utilize. Just wondering your thoughts.

some formula one teams have electric motors to power the turbo directly , i wonder what system is really better , this would keep heat away from the electric motors which is better maybe ...

I owe you all a lot and I feel ashamed sometimes. Right now I'm very unconfident and I haven't been putting hours on this twincharger engine developing it because of personal problems and looming economic implosion and the 3rd W, I don't want to ruin the car or engine driving it, testing it and pushing it to the limits, which was my attitude all along and got me this far and I've spent a lot of hours and money rebuilding engines and acquiring transmissions, drive shafts and rear ends. I care deeply about my engines and machines, very weird however I'm not alone. This is why I ended up being an automotive engineer.
@@JSprayaEntertainment Hybrids have their place, I'd imagine the energy sustained in the long run with a combustion engine exhaust is going to win the endurance competition. Where some applications like you brought up formula could be superior with a hybrid system.

It would totally work. The downside is someone else could trigger it if they're right next to you firing the same caliber, however with some really good characterization and tuning, it may become reliable.
Great Video Have a Jimmy 2000. Helped tremendously, first time doing intake manifold. Must the distributor be removed and getting to the fuel line is a miracle. I notice on Chevy they did not have to remove the distributor.
The distributor goes through the lower intake so it must be removed. I hope you research distributor removal resources so you know not to spin it after removal, otherwise it'll never run.
