Hey, thank you. I've not checked the exam guide specifically for a while but I've had a couple of people thank me in recent weeks as it helped the to pass MS-102 so I'm thinking it must still be largely valid.
Hey Peter! I'm in the middle of creating a SharePoint site for our company. We've tried a couple of times before (last time about 5 years ago), but our users didn't really engage. Much has changed since then though... our files are now stored in departmental SP sites, so there's much more content and so many ways to display it. I'm also rolling it out through the Viva Connections app in Teams. Hopefully the integration with Teams will encourage our users to get involved! Looking forward to more SharePoint content 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing your story, Adam. And thanks for keeping the conversation on mental health going Peter. I thought I’d chime in with a few thoughts. We very much need to break the cycle of men not talking about how they feel. Education of course has to play a part, but it’s a generational thing too, older men need to set the example for younger men. We need to pass it down that it is ok to not be able to cope at times. No one can or needs to be perfect! I also like the physical comparison, no one expects to get off the sofa and to be able to run a marathon without any training, but we fail to see that our mental strength needs to be developed too. Many experiences can be overwhelming, like the 1st time you have your heart broken or lose a loved one, but with age and experience we become stronger. No one questions the need for people to have glasses or hearing aids, so if your brain chemistry is a little off, then take what you need to fix it and live the best life you can.
Hello Pete, I respect you as a parent of a autism child. Have you thought about too much protection on Oliver right now might not be a good idea for him for a long run. At end of day, he needs to face the world by himself, tough love needs to come earlier when you still have strength to fight it both physically and mentally.
This is something we ruled out long ago. The principles of tough love just don't work on a child like Oliver. He can respond to the mildest of criticisms very negatively and often with violence. He can be a danger to himself and others. If at any point we ever doubt that, the professionals around us always reinforce and validate the way we approach things as they too realise that this sort of approach just won't work with him.
Peter, you and your wife are true warriors. May God give you all the strength to face your daily battles. I don't know you personally, but it's as if you were an old friend. God bless your lives and those of your children.
Yes the main policies in Adaptive protection are separated from the specific DLP ones which show up in their own section. Thank you for the kind words. 🙏🏻
Peter, that is a great video. I have a question for the compliance manager, Is there any way to invoke assessment via API? I have a requirement to execute any specific assessment and show the report. I am looking someway to do with the API either Postman or somehow with PowerShell
Hi Peter, thanks for the explanation of the SharePoint Advanced Management Features. I have a question about the license. Do we need to license the SharePoint Advanced Management Plan 1 for each SharePoint user or only for the admin users which setup and use the Advanced Management Featuress?
Passed my MS-102 with a 942 ! Your video was amazing! It was more concise clear and on spot than other courses. Study material I used was this course along with microsoft learning path. Also I did a handful of practice exams by S-killcertpro for a week and reviewed the exam notes provided by them the day before of my exam. Nearly 80% questions were from these sets.
Hi Peter, I wanted to ask if you some tutorials about power automate to pull all the open cloud alerts. I have a simialr setup but its does not only pull open alerts. Thanks for this materials.
you did not test the sensitive info type .how do you know if it works ?. i was searching a tutorial to see real situation how it works. but here you just create and that is it.
@@peterrisingM365 from a sales point of view. You convince someone to move to 365 and then the costs stack up with all the premium add ons. I think they'd sell a lot of some "premium addon bundle" Or another edition to M365 for business
I have this set up in my tenant, but the user also has SMS set up and that is their primary and I would like it to force them to use Authenticator and get rid of SMS
Working through the video. Really awesome introduction!! Could you do a video series on connecting multiple services, like setting the conditional access policies in Entra for a share point site?
This is wonderful content and very helpful. I have no doubt it's maddening for you to try to keep up with Microsoft changes, but I figured I'd ask to see if you either have an updated video explaining the newer Tag templates section, or if you would consider making a video about that topic. Regardless, your video has been a huge help to me and I'm certain many others. You've explained in 20 minutes what would take days to figure out by clicking through the multitudes of Microsoft help topics. Thank you so very much!
Hello Peter! Thank you for this video. I’m still watching it and am about halfway through. Did you get a chance to include links for maintaining the initial creation date, when email is migrated onto M365?
I finished the whole playlist for MS-102 and I will be taking the exam soon. Leaving this comment to show my appreciation of your effort, as well as boosting "the algorithm". Thanks for the content Peter!
at 58:13 one suggestion - the issue with applying the label, this is most likely caused by co-authoring , by default co-authoring is not enabled for IRM the user must use desktop version of Word/Excel etc. this can also create conflicts within OneDrive sync.
Thank you for these thoughts. I have co auth on so perhaps it was the need for desktop version. I did get it working in the end actually and I linked to the solution in the video.
Hi Peter, I know this has been 5 months, and I'm also following your vids regarding M365, but because I have the same situation with you. I'm also a father with ASD severe diagnosed son, and we have similar experiences with my son was younger. He is 12 now in year 7. He is way much better now. It's a journey to us Dad's having our sons who have ASD, but it will get better. My son is still having challenges verbally but at least he can now verbalize and have an idea what he wants. School plays a big role in his development, and sometimes we have to step in to fight for inclusivity. More power to you and everyone who's in the same page as us.
Hi Peter, I have been doing a bunch of testing also on Global Secure Access and one specific item is not clear how to understand the network connectivity and so hoping that you might be able and ok with this one, or even any other viewers can also interact. As with Private Access Forwarding, whereby a Policy Rule were enabled to allow SMB traffic ( 445 ) to an "On-Premise" server that is AD-Doman Joined ( not AAD ). Let me explain the scenario bit A Computer / Laptop is located on a Public Only Network / Internet connection that is AAD Joined and no direct connection to the Remote Office network, so completely remote. With the Global Access Client and installed, the policy for Private Access is enabled with the Conditional Access Rules and network traffic allowance set to allow on TCP connection to the remote destination server having port 445 enabled ( SMB TCP ). From the remote workstation using the GSA client, the SMB File Share is accessible no issue. What cannot get to figure out is, looking at the Network Traffic using the GSA client Advanced Diagnostics, it does not even track the SMB traffic, only all the other Internet Traffic (443) and M365 traffic. So, then doing a Telnet to that same destination server on that SMB connection 445, then only does the GSA client log that network connection traffic happening. What we trying to understand is, if none of AD Kerberos / DNS traffic is allowed specifically within the Enterprise Application Rules, how or where is the traffic allowed and logged?
Do you know if TAP is available when Entra Connect with Pass-Through Authentication is in place or does this only work if Password Hash Synchronization is used?
