My name is Holly and I'm RU-vids biggest crybaby. I've been watching Shoujo/Magical Girl/Slice of Life anime series since I was around 8, some of my favourites include: Fruits Basket, Lucky Star, Tokyo Mew Mew, Toradora, & so many more!! I wouldn't call myself cosy but I often indulge in the comfier side of Anime & related films.
I'm a sucker for cartoon romance and heartfelt feelings, and wanna share that w/ you whilst also exploring other kinds of anime! I've had minimal experience watching anime movies (aside from Ghibli) so it's also a great opportunity for me to explore all the films I've had recommended to me ^-^
Aside from RU-vid, I'm a full-time streamer over on Twitch, streaming all kinds of games 4x a week. In my spare time I like to also play games (usually roguelikes + other similar genres that need my full attention) (ง •_•)ง I have a chronic illness which makes it hard for me to always be up and about, which is why games and anime are my happy place. 💚
Historically, the United States of America built up after killing an uncountable number of native Americans by white-skinned poor Europeans using guns and stealing the vast continents from California to Florida without payment of even one dollar. For 100 years, Europeans killed 56,000,000 native American families and stole the big land. During the Second World War, Tokyo was attacked by a total number of B29 4,900 and 130 times dropped an uncountable number of bombs over the heads of Japanese babies, children, and women just before the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings. The USA was attacked by airplane suicide only on 9/11 2001 and until today, American people every day every time talking many times about it exaggeratedly. Anyway, the US people historically do not take care to kill civilians, especially babies and children using guns because the US itself consists of a gun society. Japan was built by the first emperor Jinmu 2,683 years ago. The USA was built 247 years ago after the slaughter of native American people without payment of even one dollar. The number of people killed by guns in the USA in 2022 is 48,117(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics) The number of people killed by guns in Japan in 2022 is 4 (Japanese Government Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications
Read One Sunny Day: A Child’s Memories of Hiroshima by Hideko Tamura Snider. A powerful retelling of the author’s life before and after the atomic bombing, who was 10 years old at the time. One of the books we read during my Japanese history class during university and met the author whom we invited to speak on campus. *We also watched Grave of the Fireflies in that class and I’ve never watched it again since. I just recently finally a journey to Hiroshima and the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park and HiroshimaPeace Memorial Museum. It’s an even more powerful experience after Graves of the Fireflies, One Sunny Day and The Pacific War by Saburo Ienaga (I could name quite a few more books and movies as well).
This film remains in my mind as one of the best made films of all time. I saw it when it came out (on video) but I don't think it is something I need to watch again.
if you‘ve experienced long distance relationship you’ll know that feel , that era no smartphones no Internet many relationship become farer and farer , broken by distance. You can’t near with your lover when she need and you can’t grow up with her , the memory are getting blurry , That's torture. Now, people have smart phones and the Internet, but many people no longer cherish the relationship between lovers.
in the end, it is all that teatchers fault... he didnt do anything to try and adapt the classroom for a student with a disability... he was a terrible teatcher who didnt care at all about the kids...
Bless you Molly. Maybe at the time learning those sign language might not have seem that significant, but I'm sure the girl was ensured a better life just because you all put in the effort. It would've definitely meant the world to her, I'm not deaf, but I do have anxiety, and tend to block people out too, so in a sense, I can understand what it would've meant. Thank you again
the first scene where shouko was singing you can see the girl with blonde hair tricking her by making her think shes singing but she just moving her mouth
At 9:49, she wrote H since Sasaki and Katou asked for his first name and not his last name, so she put H as saying “Hitohito” which is Tadano’s first name
ishida simply thinking "did i ever actually apologize for that?" as he's holding onto shoko still makes me cry just a little bit more every time i watch this movie... as someone who's been bullied to hell and back i don't think a lot of bullies realize just how much the person they bullied would appreciate a simple "sorry"
Vi as she is now can't truly accept Jinx as she is now. For them to get back to their loving sister relationship, one of them will have to change who she is on a fundamental level, but neither is willing to do that. Jinx likes her current life much more than she ever enjoyed being Powder and doesn't want to become a better person even for Vi, and by not killing Cait, a topsider and enforcer like the ones who killed their parents, Vi proved that she won't become a worse person for Jinx. They've both just changed too much to get back what they once had With her final act, Jinx shows she has now accepted that, but Vi is still struggling to
Nice! Glad to hear the game had a much more meaningful impact for you and your fiancé. I think I joined in late 2007. That bgm definitely triggered some memories haha. Last time I played was during the burning event of last summer. Wondering if I should give it another go this summer
@brokenglue4457 hahaha yeah :D oh man, it's so different now *but* still kinda fun. A lot of the old schoolers play private servers to preserve the good old days 🤣
People who only see snippets of Horimiya on RU-vid that show Hori being "abusive" to Miyamura get annoyed and call her a "big red flag." But if you've seen the show up to this point, you'll know why she has quite an attitude. Her parents were hardly around and she had to care for herself, Sota, their house, and her parents when they arrive from work. She's overworked from her academics and her student council duties. Miyamura isn't exactly the perfect boyfriend either despite being an ideal guy. She has serious abandonment issues and couldn't enjoy being a carefree teen because of all of her responsibilities. But later on it will be shown that she is actually very aware of her flaws - to the point of insecurity. Thankfully, as Hori exposes more and more of her vulnerability, Miyamura is also beginning to step up more and more himself. They really do complement each other.
