The way Ishikawa's dream demonstrates how scared he is of being hurt by Yamada and also how scared he is of hurting her is just genius. Not a word was said, but the full meaning is there.

The confusion about the pads is partially due to a mistranslation. She isn’t saying that the pads aren’t for periods, she’s saying they’re not for HER period. They’re for her mother. Also, don’t think anyone pointed this out, but his pajama pants change from when Yamada is there to when he’s awoken by his sister. Yamada’s the only person around at this time, so you can put the rest together.

I like it when the community points out aspects we might miss out on. People have pointed out the weird folds on the letter Yamada left, Yamada's misuse of phrases, and the meaning behind his fever dream, adding more to the episode. I also love that when Ichikawa's mom was asking about a really pretty girl in his class, Ichikawa, without hesitation, knew that it was Yamada his mom was talking about. I agree that there is something about them that makes them feel different compared to other anime couples. Thanks for the reaction.

There's a japanese proverb called "baka wa kaze o hikanai" that translates to "idiots don't catch colds", so Ichikawa's last line ("Even Yamada catches a cold sometimes, huh?") implies that he doesn't consider her smart in general. I though that was quite funny because there are so many moments in this show which clearly demonstrate that she's clever in her own way and that she managed to hide her embarrassement without Ichikawa knowing it. ^^

I found the scene when kyo's mom reacting to what yamada's mom was saying to her pretty funny. Also not personally a girl, but I'm pretty sure those were sanitary pads, which afaik are used more commonly in some countries compared to tampons. Btw idk if it's just me but I find kyo's sister quite cute in her own way xD

Such a great episode. It's been pointed out that the folds of her note resemble a heart when folded. She probably chickened out last second. If you notice he has a different set of clothes when he wakes up, looks like she took care of him while he was unconscious and didn't want him to get worse. Love this series. Take care.

This show avoided a lot of the typical anime romance tropes, but it did use the 'caught a cold' one. It did it just about as well as you possibly could though.

This is the best romcom this year. ♥ Kobayashi sure is clueless. Also wonder what that dream with a giant and a mini Yamadas mean.

sheeesh yamada is taller than ishikawa's mom!!!! this is one heck of a weird way to hit a new level of wholesome, i wonder where it'll lead to next. the breakthroughs are slowly starting to crack, it'll blow our minds isn't it....

i feel like its unique because most romcom out there are made by guys. This one is rumored to be made by a female mangaka which could add to how a heroine would act. The reasons why she likes our MC is just so similar to what a friend of mine would like about a guy and its done so well too.

My second favorite Romantic Couple now, only Gojo and Marin beat them in terms of favorites.
