Flip locks still work fine, and I use it outside all the time. It holds an R6 w/ RF 24-70 no problem. I’ve even used my 70-200 with it. As long as you use the lens mount with the 70-200, it holds position just fine.
I have put this tripod in my Wish-list and subscribed, since you left me no choice 🤣 Now my wife can keep her crappy tripod for her real estate photos! I have my first wedding coming up in August. After 15 years, I had the opportunity to start my videography again!
Was legit excited that you were gonna share what could make it lighter - ready to buy! But what you had to say was so much better. Totally got me hhaha. Thanks for the honest input!
Hey. I'm back. Lol. So the issue with the weird blue tint on peoples lips and skin has miraculously disappeared. Is it true that if legal is cut on that you cant use the full functionality of the Atomos? I know thats a broad term..I have listened to so much that it all runs together but something in regards to color maybe?
@@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo don't get upset, little man. I know it's hard to accept that lifting weights can't change the fact that you're 5'8 but don't take your frustrations out on me.
I ran a test in a 35c room yesterday in 4k25p. Camera was already hot to begin with but via the ninja v still managed 45 minutes of recording time before i got bored and stopped the test. As far as I can tell, the ninja V almost entirely solves overheat issues in 4k 25fps. I dont think i'll ever get worse conditions than that room and the camera still managed loads of record time.
Do you know why I'm seeing blue and green hues on my footage? I replaced my cord with the $62 Atomos 4K hdmi and I've tried out different lens and the result is the same. It seems like it's worse when the subject is further from the camera. I'm recording in Rec 709. I'm using CLOG3 and my cameras are R6 & R6M2.
@@sjcproductionsandmedia I have the same issues with mine; except super orange and yellow, but only while recording. It hasn’t transferred over on my footage. My have to play with adjusting the tints within your camera, or if you’re recording externally, try recording log and with a lut to fix the problem.
@@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo That’s really interesting - so you don’t run into jittery-video issues? Or do you normally shoot everything at 60fps, where your “perfect” shutter speed would be 1/125 anyway? Also - I saw that you fly this on a Ronin S. I’ve been trying to get my 28-70 to balance on mine as well… Do you lose range of motion with yours, or did you figure out how to do it with this monster lens? 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks again!
@@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo Definitely. I have a Nikon D750, with the battery grip, and the 85mm f1.4, and 70-200mm f2.8 which might be too heavy for it despite the 33 lbs. load capacity. I'm going to test it out to see.
Yeah i picked one up last week aswell . Oh quick question . I took off the base and put it back together but now it wont screw in properly from the top can anyone help please?
Hey, How did you get the 4k 60 to continuously record? Mine keeps skipping at 4k60 and I tried multiple HDMI cables and drives and even downloaded new firmware updates.
So I set my camera to always stay on, by turning power saving mode off. Other than that I just record to the monitor. If you have that set up, I’m not 100% sure; may be an issue with your particular monitor.
@@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo I know this old video, but are you saying you can record 4k60p on Ninja V.? Mine is skipping with the kangaroo symbol every 2-8 mins, and it ‘loses connection. I am now using Black Magic video assist with no issue. I have a lot of SSD drives for Ninja V and wish I could shoot 4k60p.
@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo I tried it again and discovered that the issue was on the SSD card. I have both a QVO and an EVO card from Samsung. Samsung QVO cards will stop writing in about one minute or less, but EVO drives don't have any hiccups. I will discard all my QVO cards. I appreciate your response very much. My Ninja V was about to be discarded.
I agree, the R6/Ninja is just not what I was expecting it to do. A lot of misleading info online. During my tests I reach the full 30min recording limit without overheating, cool. But that’s if I trigger the recording from the camera. If I press the record button on the Ninja, I get the skippy kangaroo symbol every 2-8 mins and it ‘loses connection’. When I initiate the video from the camera trigger, it’s totally fine!
At least your content is filmed at edited perfectly! I can't do shit! Ha! I'm watching your stuff like, I need to hire Brandon so I can share my story and eventually write that book!
I'm considering selling my R6 due to the overheating. I bought the Ninja V also... it's nice to get an additional 20-30 minutes video before overheating... I've been considering the new Panasonic s5 mk2 or the Sony FX30... Thank you for the video!
Ya I love my R6, I was hoping the ninja would help and agree to maybe 30 extra minutes. I may upgrade to R5C, or C70. We will see. Thanks for the comment!
@@mergefilmproductions honestly it’s a pain. I have 10 SSDs 25 total TB. I’m going to be selling the monitor; it’s a fine tool but I’m just not using it the way I thought I would. I can’t shoot an entire wedding on it due to it taking over 500gb. So it’s started to collect dust.
There is no designated hook for weights; however the piece the head is connect to has a large area that you can hang weights from. Crappy explanation, something you’d have to see up close
Brandon, I do wedding photography and videography. I just ordered this lens after renting it twice for two wedding photo jobs. I’m considering using it for wedding videos (I currently use the RF 24-105 and some RF primes). Do you use ND filters for videos in full daylight?
I personally don’t use ND filters. I always just crank my shutter to get the look I want. This is technically incorrect, so I’m sure someone will reply and tell me I’m wrong lol. But I prefer not to put more glass in front of my glass; I feel like it softens the image.
Light, durable, looks nice and only 159 dollars. Ultimately gear comes down to the user and their opinion of it. For the price, this is an amazing tripod.
@@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo We've been buying gear for decades. Credibility is paramount. This sort of headline won't help your cause. "Amazing for the price" we may agree. "Best tripod for weddings" is a blatant lie. One more question, if I may: how do you know it is "durable"? Don't get me wrong: I wish you nothing but success.
@@dantolino1093 I know it’s successful because I’ve shot 10 destination weddings since getting it. My Manfrotto is falling apart, because I beat the hell out of my gear. But, I also never said you have to agree with my opinion.
@@dantolino1093 sounds like your being a passive aggressive pretentious prick but hiy thats just my opinion i do apologise its just i have 15+ year’s experience dealing with assholes 😃
Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 is the better all-round wedding lens for me: Cheaper, lighter, quieter, much less focus breathing, and yet greater zoom range (35-70 f/2-2.5 and 70-150 f/2.5-2.8 in one lens)
@@BrandonWilsonFilmsCo I primarily shoot Sony and would never spend over $2k on a standard zoom lens unless it is perfect to which imo 24-70 GM ii and above-mentioned Tamron 35-150 are very close.
