I've been riding motorcycles since 2006 and just love the relaxation, therapy and overall enjoyment that comes from riding. Over the years I have improved my skills, learned more about riding in general. Gear is one thing that is constantly evolving, and also a huge part of riding and comfort. Technology continues to improve and cool gadgets come along that help riding, or even help me bring content to you. Safety is another huge item that seems to be a growing issue with more and more motorcycle involved accidents. All these things I wish to share on my channel in the forms of reviews, tutorials, educational videos, safety videos and more.
I hope to continue to grow and learn and help other riders grow and learn as well. Another big component is bringing motorcycle awareness to the general public.

Thanks mate. I'm looking forward to doing some ongoing maintenance on my 2015 Ninja 1000. To date I've been lazy and just paid for everything to be done, but being moderately handy at other things, I'm going to give it a shot Really appreciate the work you put into your vids and big cheers from your newest Aussie subscriber - Dave
Excellent video, thanks for this. Could you please let me know the exact name of the mount you used for your garmin. Thanks and regards from Switzerland
Which mount are you referring to? The wind screen mount? If so link is in the video description as well as the other components. Here is the mount: www.aliexpress.us/item/3256801571445019.html
A little more responsive, better gas mileage, and seems like it pulls a little more in the higher RPMs. You won't experience the full performance impact unless you improve the entire flow of air, in other words, exhaust. More air in means more air out, and if you have the stock exhaust like I do it won't let you feel the full potential of a higher flow air filter.
I should add that I am planning on replacing it with the Olympia Airglide Jacket sometime in the near future - it's due for a replacement. The problem I have with the Joe Rocket is it seems a little short. Everything else fits perfect, but it just rides up my back. I like the Olympia Airglide pants, so hoping the Jacket is the same way.
YAY HOO HOO. that’s funny. Cagers drive me nuts. Great point about watching your back. ALWAYS factor in where’s your escape route in case you’re about to be plowed into from the rear.
Is there a product out there that would cover over the rear seat. Like a seat cowling, hiding the passenger seat? I had one for my ZX12 and was always impressed with how it looked. BTW, you should, if you’re not already, an instructor. Your tone, pace and humanness when you blooper is very comforting to watch. Just bought my 2023 with 4000km's on her but came with no owners manual. So these vids are VERY helpful. Cheers
Thanks for the kind words. Being an instructor would be kind of fun, just not in the cards at this time. I am not aware of a seat cowling that covers the seat on the 1000sx, just replaces it. It is possible someone makes an aftermarket that would cover the seat, but at this time I have not seen any.
Unfortunately I do not. I haven't go to that extent yet so do not have a video. I may be able to offer some guidance though, unless you have already figured it out? I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
No I do not. Even though Kawasaki calls for them to be replaced at very low mileage, they are NGK Iridium - they can go 100k miles, though I would change them at 50k miles. Since I haven't put that mileage on I haven't done them yet.
Great install video. Just finished installing this system on my 20' SX. How has the fasting system held up securing the top plate and mount to the rack? I had the Givi rack system but was not to real big on the weight of the system bolted to the subframe. TIA Ride safe!
@@BlueEyedRider84 LOL You are correct about the lock access😄. It is a really simple setup I was just a tad concerned about the plate mount to the rack. Thanks for the conformation and ride safe!
I prefer the Zumo XT and keeping my phone on me. If you're in an accident, you may not be able to get to your phone to call for help. You also don't need to worry about having maps downloaded to the phone when you use the Garmin if you are in an area with no cell reception. The height with the screen mount is also better. You don't have to look down as far, allowing you to keep your eyes toward the road while riding.
Just a quick note. Phosphate is bad for aluminum engines as it promotes scale formation. If youre going to use pre-stone get the bottle that says max European teal since bmw requires you not to have phosphate in your coolant so its safe for motorcycles.
@@BlueEyedRider84 the shop I work at uses regular prestone coolant for atv but thats because atv guys dont keep their coolant longer than 1 year. If you change it often than regular is fine but for street bikes that do it at 36,000kms like you said I wouldnt use prestone “all vehicles”. I do mine kinda earlier around 10,000 to 15,000kms
I only have issues when I am low RPM. 2->1 is probably the one where I have the biggest issues while slowing down if I don't shift early enough because of slowing down. Never have a problem while in higher RPMs though.
Will the INOPE USB C Car Charger Fast Charging,[PD45W&QC45W] iPhone Car Charger DC Aux to USB Adapter work in place of the 30W you mention in the video? The 30 w is out of stock everywhere
You risk blowing your fuse if your phone ends up pulling more than 36 watts or if you use both ports at once. The aux port is on a 3 amp line, so that only allows for 36 watts.
As per @hz2189 comment. Ordered the ninja 650 oem socket and can confirm it fits. 33 quid instead of 95..... 😆 glad I saw the comment before I ordered one!
hi. i have a new motorcycle and every 600-800 km i cleaned and lubricated the chain. now i have already ridden 3 thousand km and tried to tighten the chain. my question is how often should i do this? excuse my english this is a translator.
You should check your chain slack at a minimum every 1000km. It is better to check it once a week as it will indicate if there is an issue if you are always having to adjust (you shouldn't need to adjust once a week, but check it). If you find it is going out and needing to be adjusted weekly then you need to double check the torque on your bolts and make sure that alignment is right. Check to make sure you are not overtightening (it will cause premature stretching). As a chain gets older it will stretch more quickly, so for an older chain this is a good way to tell if it is time to replace. Bottom line, check once a week or every 1000km, whichever comes first. If you want to be very proactive, check before every ride or every time you stop on a ride. This is where the BPA slack tool is very helpful.
You went into fast forward mode right at the point of connecting the device. It is not at all obvious which connector on the main harness is the right one. Is there a ‘cover’ on the one I’m supposed to use??
Freeze frame at 3:16. It is the connection my ring finger is resting on. It is plugged into a blank female end - you can put terminals in the female end and make your own connector if you go with after market.
Hello, what program and what device can I use to read this motorcycle in more detail? For a year now I have been suffering from the lack of cruise control, after turning it on it does not respond to the buttons for decreasing and increasing speed, therefore the cruise control does not work, I would like to look for the error in the motorcycle itself
That's going to be a tough one. There are tuners out there that you can tune motorcycles with - sort of like HP Tuners for cars, but I don't think it's going to get you into the stuff like cruise control. I will have to dig more on this one for you to see what I can find, I just don't know anything off the top of my head.
Change your sub frame bolts and get the Shad rack and top box the SX 58 is brilliant used it with the OME side panniers for a month long two up European trip. No issues with either the sub frame or stability.
I got the Ventura mount - it redistributes the weight so the bolts aren't as necessary. I will still probably replace them just for peace of mind, but otherwise the setup has been great. Thanks for the input!
Final notes are awesome! Great video. Thank you. I have a 2016 Z1000 and was wondering how to bleed the ABS pump and couldn't find anything on it. So much appreciated from So Cali!
Great video thanks however I unbolted the bolts that hold the seat lock mechanism now I have a cable with the mechanism on the end floating about any idea on how to replace can’t even work out which way up it goes 🤦🏻♂️
Wow - I don't know how I didn't see this comment. Did you figure it out? If not I will have to pull the cover off and see if I can help guide you into reattaching it.
These are holding up great and I absolutely love them. I have the V2 non-vented in my wish list with a plan to purchase soon just because I need something warmer in the cooler weather, but as of now I have not tried them.
So, in regards to anti freeze, for those of us that live down under, the temperature here, even in the coldest days of winter (right now for us at time of writing) never drops below 0, is it still a necessity to use it??
You must use some form of anti-corrosive/lubricative coolant alternative. Racers use stuff like redline water wetter: amzn.to/3WgIuuZ If you run plain distilled water your system will eventually corrode and the water pump will fail.
Hello, great video! I got a question regarding installing the Quad Lock 12v to usb smart adaptor, where would you feed the cable from the front of the gas tank to the battery??
Under the tank. Undo the front two bolts and lift up slightly and you should be able to run the wire under there without it getting in the way of anything. Let me know if you have any issues.
I bought these this week and they are okay slow speeds. At 70mph they are not good. I cannot hear my music and the wind was horrible. I got home and I was deaf. Just buy disposables
I think something happened to the quality as multiple people have reported issues with these now. I don't have any issues even at 70+ mph. I don't know if it's the quality or if helmet comes into play.
You need the relay - whether you use theirs or someone else's is up to you, but otherwise you don't need anything else unless you want the feature. For example, the turn signal splitter is great if you plan on using other signal indicators as well as the integrated signal. The control switch is only if you want to program the taillight for different effects: 1) TURN THE STARTUP SEQUENCE ON/OFF. 2) SET THE BRAKE ALERT PATTERN (SEE SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAMMING MANUAL AT HTTP://WWW.CUSTOMLED.COM ON PRODUCT PAGE) 3) SET THE RUNNING LIGHT BRIGHTNESS WITHIN A PRESET RANGE. 4) SET THE BRAKE LIGHT BRIGHTNESS WITHIN A PRESET RANGE. 5) ENTER DEMO MODE. (USEFUL FOR BIKE SHOWS AND DISPLAYS) 6) RESET FACTORY DEFAULTS (SAME AS WHEN THE TAIL LIGHT WAS MANUFACTURED). The only accessory I got was the relay, I didn't get any of the other items.
The only gripe I have with the Nolan N100-5 Plus is the fitment. I'm normally a L on AGV, Shoei and MT Helmet, but the Nolan's N100-5 plus fits too snug with my chin barely caressing the chin bar... oh wells.
That's interesting, I haven't heard of them running small. I fit large in most helmets including Nolan and have no issues. Chin doesn't touch chin bar and even has room for mic.
I have seen many reviews on this helmet with many saying to buy one size up and I did that as a small fits me but I ordered a Medium and will be getting it this week via the mail.
Your review has now sold me to buy this helemt. One feature I was hoping it had was the ratchet chin strap. I find almost all high end ones have that Double D chin strap and I find that to complicated to use and maybe I am to dumb also. Thanks for that great review.
It really is a great helmet and I love the strap. Found myself having to fasten it the other day when I forgot to do it before my ride and it makes its so easy that you don't even have to pull over like you would, or at least should , with the double D.
For anyone looking for a cost effective and OEM solution. Look at the ninja 650 12v socket, it’s the same thing with the same quick connector to the OEM wiring socket that is behind your front cowl. It’s just significantly cheaper than the one sold for the ninja 1000sx.
