Not to dig an entire industry, but I’m an aerospace engineer, we all talk overcomplicate like 95% of the stuff we say. It’s just habitual. To an extent overcomplication is needed to present a full picture/concept/important notes so a 14 year old isn’t gonna self medicate themselves, tbh feel it’s better to give them tons of info and let them get their own deduction instead of limiting what’s present. But thanks for the Goodluck
I mean I’d agree, peptides aren’t unnatural but can’t be gaslighting high schoolers or college athletes or anyone in a tested federation to use stuff, WADA standards are dumb but consider it to be a doping agent
I believe generally not, but if you reach out to customer support or schedule a consult with one of the coaches they might be able to give you a better walk through and info. (marekhealth.com/team-marek/joshua-smith here’s a link for the guy I work with, Josh is amazing and should be able to answer any of your questions and really say if marek would be a good fit for you) but was there stuff in the VA blood work that was concerning? Or what’s making you think about Marek?
Good question, I ordered through Marek Health which I work with for most of my stuff and bloodwork. Although I have no ties with any of the companies and assess the product and safety to your own level, heard good stuff about Researchem and Amino Asylum
So it’s an Intramuscular (IM) injection, really just where ever you have enough muscle to pin it and it’s safe to. So it could be glute/quad/delt/lat. Personally, I would recommend a larger muscle grouping so it can be more dispersed and is easier to pin. I did ventroglute (but got sick of that) and now just primarily rotate between lats and the occasional delt pin (I have small delts but feels comfortable to do)
Good question and not at all really, first panel is the big one. ($670 or so for an extremely extensive panel) then depending on the results from that dictates follow up blood work cost most of mine have been like 47-250 cause we only cared about a few markers. Same with the medication and treatment depends on what’s needed or you do. Overall $675 every 3 months is a high bar, I’d say realistically $250-350

***Disclaimer: this is not medical advice*** depending on how bad it is, I think a 6-8 week usage cycle at a proportional dosing relative to body weight and effective dosages (there’s some good online resources for the, muscle and brawn(?) has a really good article I could find if you want) then just regular dosing over that timeline and reassess for effectiveness and potentially extent
@@hektik1978 I would recommend reading this article about BPC 157 muscleandbrawn.com/peptides/bpc-157/ and this article about TB-500 muscleandbrawn.com/peptides/tb-500/
I personally don’t think antibodies isn’t the effect but I think you’d be fine up to 3-4 months without stopping. I think at a certain point it’s a logarithmic graph of returns, it can be pretty stark in those first few weeks but then you get used to it and the effects start to feel “lessened” similiar to like regular caffeine usage but it’s not a tolerance building up it’s just effects seem more muted
That is correct, it is a supplement and it is also naturally occurring/present in the body generally. It is in red meats, granted not at the level as supplementing it depending on the form. But there is no reason that a drug test should be testing for this. 100% a natural/natty supplement should not cause a failed drug test unless it is tainted.
It was a hook in the video, but I think it is stupid its not a natty supplement but understand why. If you’re in a competitive sport (BJJ, Boxing, Bodybuilding, Powerlifting) it would or could technically disqualify you from being able to compete or have a future in the sports, so wanted to make sure it was mentioned that. But thank you for the engagement and yeah my physique is poor, we’ve got something else cooking up after some health issues get sorted.
You looks natty/normal bro. I dont really think it matters unless you actually look like you're on something but really natty then it makes sense to claim natty. But overall i dont think anyone cares anymore unless you are competing.
Thanks for the engagement bro, that was part of the reason for the engagement. But as someone that was active in the powerlifting space, and has no idea what lies in the future, felt like it was an important statement to mention for 2 reasons, 1 get that engagement up (thank you for that) 2 to acknowledge / put out the information that using these peptides would be grounds for dismissal in competing in BJJ/Bodybuilding/Powerlifting/Any sport that follows WADA guidelines (think any uninformed highschooler or college kid that could watch this). Personally, never cared about Natty Cards.
Hey man I either very badly strained or slightly tore my left major pectoral muscle months ago I went to the doctor he basically said there was nothing he could do for me and it’s gotten better for awhile but still flares up atleast 3 days out of the week. I work manual labor so there’s not much resting. I’ve quit doing weights involving the movement of that muscle. Would you recommend the Bpc and TB combo? I’m just ready to feel like myself again
I would definitely say so, in terms of it being a use case. Commonly people use BPC/TB when it’s instances where time off isn’t an option (in stuff like bodybuilding, powerlifting, competitive sports even though it’s banned by WADA) it aids in the quicker recovery and return to a good or better baseline. I personally would recommend it, I recommend doing your own research or clearing it with medical professionals but personally after using it to repair my shoulders and triceps if I had similar issues that you described I would use it
Great question, I can recheck my protocol but I think it was TB every 4 days (my research showed it was active in the body for 4-7 days based on metabolism), and BPC daily. If I recall my items right. Will confirm when I find my protocol tonight. It was more so overlap dosing not so much divide schedule
Hopefully it works out well! Let me know how that duration and dosing goes! I think I had a total usage window of about 3-4 weeks. Is there a reason for that amount of BAC? And is that what you ended up mixing? 200IU seems like a lot to do personally.
I can absolutely agree with the decision to buy that, I think an integra is a fantastic daily and car IMO. If I had the budget would love to buy one as a secondary. (My first car was also an RSX, so Acura hatches have a special place in my heart) but hope there’s thousands of amazing miles ahead! Did you cross shop anything else with it?
I can review my diagnostics after work today, but if I recall correct it was either the TCM built in to the unit that died, or it was a shifting mechanism failure that was believed to have failed resulting in me losing like gears 4 and above or something. I would like to disclaim that 1. It is a sealed unit that Volvo is sourcing from Aisin (spelling may be incorrect) but it is the same unit that has been used for most production years and is present in Toyota/lexus products as well. So it’s not inherently a failure of Volvos engineering from my standpoint. 2. It seems like a relatively niche failure especially for this mileage (50-60k), discussing with technicians and service team this seemed anomalous and they were unaware of this occurring prior and especially at this low of mileage. If you would like I can release more details on what was removed, replaced, cost and failure analysis from Volvo when I find the paperwork
@@picatog Hey, thanks for the reply……..you don’t have to give more detail into whatever went wrong, I was just curious. I didn’t know that Volvo sourced their transmissions from Aisin ( a transmission popular on Toyota/Lexus). Those transmissions are pretty much bulletproof. Had to be a freak-thing. Like you said, it’s not a common failure point.
Of course, always happy to reply and give more. Definitely dove deep into the forums and part list while this was going down since I had a month to do research. Seems niche, so hope it doesn’t affect other buyers since it was $$$
@@picatog Hey, Thanks again……..it sure does look like the vehicle has treated you fairly! It even appears that the Volvo service techs are doing a half-way decent job of keeping you satisfied……
Thank you for reaching out, I am glad I can provide insight. I will say been testing the Rhone commuters a lot, away from the length issue I called out, seams are wearing well and material is aging nominally
Although stress does play a factor in suppressed hormones, I do think there’s a lot that can be physically done to aid in production like reducing stressors in the body and maintain a good homeostasis. I would also argue to an extent that life needs stress, although mine has been compounded with moves and work and other factors, i think stress can lead to fulfillment and achievement, so avoiding some high stress isn’t going to be sustainable long term in a career.
I have towed lighter loads in a T5 XC60 and it was fine, obviously it would be load dependent, and condition specific. I live in Colorado and spend more time in the mountains so I don’t really tow with my personal vehicle. If you’re frequently towing regardless I’d probably skew towards something more built for it, probably not a 4banger, and something just more built for the task at hand.
I have thought about it, and talked to some dealerships. Got quoted alittle high at ~$3k I think awhile back, not sure how accurate it was, seen some discussion on forums. Have you had any experience or know anyone to do it?
Honestly not sure if it would work or not but hope it does for people that want to. I use Berb for other reasons but mostly heard about people using garlic supplements to counter the negatives to oral L-carn!
I feel like it is absolutely under rated, I think I am a changed man after using it. And now would rather easily recommend it to anyone non-competitive or with no reason not to utilize it for injuries or other things.
@@markwolves9498 I feel like it would be questionable to provide cycles and dosing but thse articles would give some good insight under dosing and other sections muscleandbrawn.com/peptides/tb-500/ and muscleandbrawn.com/peptides/bpc-157/
I would say so, tried both injections and pill form and injection works a lot better IMO. I wouldn’t say its an end all be all but works quite well and I have noticed a difference. Which magnesium form do you take? I take quite a few forms including Glycinate (prior to bed) L-Threonate (during the day). Personally have not tried regular usage of ginkgo, do you notice it?
When you start the process are you asked about existing medications and supplements that you already take? Just curious if you got feedback to either increase dose of an existing medication or lower dose of an existing medication
Yes to both of those. During the initial, that is one of the items I had to do which was listing out the full list of everything I am taking (whether it is over the counter, prescription or it is ‘extracurriculars’) so they can make sure advising is done properly. Then following blood work, dosages were either adjusted, suggested stopping (IE I was told not to supplement in some vitamins and minerals as my diet contained plenty or my bloodwork was showing high levels), or new supplements were added.
@@picatog Thanks for the reply. Did you do an initial consult before beginning? If so, did you continue to meet with a coach afterwards? If so, how many times or is it ongoing?
I did an initial consult, blood work, 2 reviews of that (1 with health coach, 1 with Doctor, then reviewed suggested treatment and then discussed treatment with coaching). Since then had a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month meeting with my coach, switched coaches. Then with my new coach we’ve met 4-6 times I believe, to discuss another panel of bloods, effectivity of treatment, path forward after it/items to monitor and improve and training. It’s a rather ongoing thing if you choose to make it so. I would recommend making it a continuous improvement effort to keep health optimal all the time. In my experience too the health Coaches are regularly accessible by email for questions that come up/can meet.
Short answer: Yes, something did. I went from total test at 294 ng/dL when starting with Marek (LOW) to 645ng/dL (last round of blood work, which is OPTIMAL reference range but could be higher. Longer Answer: Do we know what it was fully? Not really but Zinc, Boron, D3, magnesium, selenium and iron are all important for maintaining and providing sustained deployment of test. Like multiple items consumed and supplemented with were a role player in raising levels, not just a singular supplement. With that being said, the supplement stack has somewhat been modified, and will release soon.
Nice review! With a son in M.E., it was interesting to see a pants review and comparison from that perspective! I have both and never realized the length difference in their respective 32” length but you are correct! Thanks!
Being in ME it can definitely change you perspective on construction and force displacement and wear point properties, hope your son finishes out his degree and loves it! If there’s ever any questions about it or when its career time, if questions come up always open to discuss it as a new comer to the industry with 1+ years of full aerospace/space industry experience and 3 years (of internships) in higher volume Manufacturing Engineering. Honestly I am a little disappointed in the size difference being present for other people, I was hoping it was a poor QC issue or just an anomaly, but apologies you got it too. Wondering which one is TTS
Small suggestion when doing car experience or review feedback. ALWAYS start with what model you have and specs. Is it petrol, diesel, hybrid ect. What are the engine specs or exact model, B5 ect. Or if you want to be lazy put that info into video description. So many make mistakes and start giving feedback but no mention of trim level ect.
Hey thanks for the initial feedback and any more to give? Thought the intro through 0:12 would have covered it decently with mentioning it is a 2019 (MY) T6 (Engine/Spec) R-Design (Package/Trim Level) but I could see more in-depth on engine specs IE 2.0 (although all are 2 liters) but explaining T6 is a supercharged and turboed engine could be mentioned earlier. Will look to update the Description later to discuss it better but I agree it could be better presented maybe. Let me know what else you got.
Great review... just got a 2022 cpo xc60... Don't buy the family sedan branding... I've driven a lot of other cars including ze Germans... This competes with and in many ways beats out it's competitors. I see it as Jack of all trades master of none but a fab vehicle overall... Sorry to hear about your tranny issues! That's a crazy story with the insurer
A 2022 CPO is definitely the way to go, if I could go back now (or had a higher budget at the time of purchase/more time to buy) I would go CPO for sure. I definitely appreciate the stiffer ride of the Volvo compared to some other competitors in the segment but still wonder what it would be like if I went with the RDX/X3/X5 instead. There will be a follow-up/10K mile of ownership perspective video dropping soon discussing maintenance, cost to own, and everything though! Can definitely agree that is is a Jack of All Trades, fantastic road tripper, good gas mileage, quality features but not the top dog in any segment (except maybe safety and maybe that’s the only category that matters most once). The transmission issues were definitely an anomaly, dealership was confused on why Aisin transmission died that early but minimal issues called out in Toyota/Lexus/Volvo or anyone that uses the transmission, the insurer is crap though but alteast now it is Volvo warrantied! What XC60 trim/features did you get or like so far?
I personally think that it depends on what you mean by better? This video is primarily discussing injectable L-Carnitine, which is a higher bioavailability form of the L-Car compared to any oral consumption method. However, if we flip the script to discuss oral consumption and supplementation of L-Carnitine studies show the when it bound with tartaric acid is a good binder with L-Carnitine that can increase its oral bioavailability (still not as high as other methods of intake) and Tartaric acid is a strong antioxidant which definitely makes it better potentially than standard L-Carnitine, at least strictly in the realm of oral supplementation of it. Personally still feel like IM injections are still better in terms of bioavailability, absorption, less potential side effects, and safer (no TMAO conversion has been observed in studies).
Hey, as your video is now around one year old I wanted to ask if you are still using your Whoop and what your thoughts are now. Right now I am using a Fitbit and will continue using it, until it breaks. But I am very interested in keeping up to date with health tracking in general
Fantastic question, and I think a follow up video will be in the works soon, but yes I am still using my Whoop 4.0. We’re currently at a 1144 day data streak! It’s been used for a lot of background work as I’ve been working on some videos regarding certain supplementation, and mouth taping (during sleep), optimizing sleep set ups, and how to maximize HRV and other metrics. So having Whoop collect the mass amounts of data it has, gives me a really good baseline and data set to work with, so I can compare a new dataset (30-60 day experiments) and hopefully generate some meaningful results and conclusions. I think Fitbits are fantastic but not sure about the data acquisition or presentation but I think health tracking to any level is great to do! I think if you do every switch to whoop the journal feature is great and can allow for some decisive moves.
I do all my IM pins in the vastus lateralis and alternate every other day for last 6 mos. Occasional PIP, no scarring, no lumping - any pain I get is transient and subsides within 30min. I use a 27gx 1 1/4" needle with 5mL syringe - and I actually fill the entire syringe which actually holds about 6mL. I stack carnitine+BCAAs+arginine-citrulline+alphaGPC+ALA. I also have been using Actovegin+GAC+glutathione. No TMAO conversion. When I took oral carnitine/choline, my serum TMAO was elevated. I was having slow-drip IVs, but it got a bit too expensive. Maybe do those once every couples months.
Out of personal curiosity, what is the reasoning or what lead you to the full stack you are using now? Always interested in testing out new stuff but haven’t heard much about reasons to pin Arginine/citrulline. I have heard about injected A-GPC, and a few other ones having good effectivity but not too much for those, same with the BCAAs unless it’s an amino PWO complex maybe? I’m beyond curious how your lat can take on 6mL at once, maybe it’s a combination of injection depth, and lat development (I’m #smallLatGang at the moment) but massive props to you if that amount works. How has the stack made you feel? And what’s been your experience developing it with time?
@@picatog Additive/synergistic effect via this stack (increased vasodilation, for one). Big believer in parenteral nutrition since the majority of us, myself included, have compromised guts and cannot adequately assimilate AAs from foods w/o consuming massive amounts of protein. Quads are the easiest site and least PIP for an IM injection if you are self-administering. Do so many other compounds it's hard to know the subjective benefits, although I do think Actovegin helps with increased stamina and makes me more motivated to get into the gym. The one that is most noticeable is NAD+. I just started that a few weeks back and you have to go very slow and low dose to start with because it has very profound effects and you feel it right away. That goes for both IM and IV administration. Side note: I'm doing all this at age 64, but look at least a decade younger. In the gym 5 day/week - cardio+weights. Doing all the peptides + enclomiphene to boost natty T levels (for now). Trying to avoid TRT.
Good question, just to make sure I am tracking before answering or giving any advice, is T1D referring to Type 1 Diabetes or is there another definition?
I would definitely consult a medical professional and endocrinologist prior to any usage, but I do think it could be beneficial. There have been a few studies to that have shown L-Carn can aid in lowering insulin resistance, be cardio protective, prevent microvascular complications and other things tied in and around T1D. But I would recommend a full safety review with a Doctor to make sure if it’s a fit for you or recommended.
Thank you!! Happy to help, honestly while editing and recording/scripting I kinda felt bad about the video. Without changing opinions or usage too much or anything felt like it was a disservice and didn’t want to improperly address any comments from it. Let me know if any questions come up.
@@picatoghonestly knowing your opinion didn’t change after any additional length of time is just as useful as if it did! Nothing to feel bad about there
I see what you mean, just felt like it limited the content of the video, but if there’s anything you wish there was more info or or could be done better let me know for the follow up during/after this cut!
Thank you it means a lot, an updated 6+ month review will be coming soon with some blood work discussions and other information to show some quantifiable results
Honestly expect slightly higher maintenance but not like loads more expensive. A lot of repairs Honda can do and they cross share a lot of parts so you can get Honda labor rates and parts and it’s the same/cheaper to do. But reasonable IMO
I can check my notes later, but mostly just turbo wear, knock, weird shifting. Haven’t heard of many issues regarding the AWD or electrical issues. But haven’t heard of many issues in general away from turbo wear
Honestly a few factors, currently rehabbing some injuries and fixing some hormone/blood markers (referenced in Marek Video) so the physique is not where it should be until the blood markers are fine (I’m natural) so full physique update and comparison seemed unnecessary. Reviewing some of my footage (that made the video IE delts/traps etc) was intentional as they’re major androgen receptor areas so with a benefit of L-Carnitine being “increased androgen receptor density” some visual differences were perceivable but that wouldn’t be prevalent everywhere, only it major areas IMO. There will be a video coming up regarding usage and cutting/leaning out and the benefits but it’s still in progress. Sorry about the lack of a full physique in this one though.
Thank you, honestly had no idea how to make this video. My thoughts and feelings have stayed the same since 30 days, and felt like the comment section squared away alot. If you have any questions or comments let me know!
I bought a 21 Acura tlx base model. It has a premium system with 10 speaker system. It has adaptive cruise control that works great as well as the lane assistance. We love this car. Turbo 4cyl 10 speed transmission. Fast enough for me.😊
I absolutely loved my time with it and my TL Type S when I still had it. I wish a TLX was in the cards when I was shopping for a new vehicle but insuring one under 25 YO was unreasonably expensive with a clean record, maybe another day. Did you get it at a good cost? Good mileage and how has the experience been so far??
@@picatog I paid about market average on a 21 used with 30 k miles. Saved about 8 grand buying it that way. Good luck finding one as I had to drive 4 and a half hours to a bigger city to find one. Gas mileage is not great, but the car makes up for it with the driveability. Best car I've owned so far. Previous car was a Honda Accord exl.
I’m a ways off of looking for one again, been driving an XC60 as insurance cost were half of a TLX. After paying off/crossing 25 might be looking into it
I have the same year and trim. I added summer tires and it's a really fun car to drive. The FWD with the lowest curb weight is an underrated configuration for this car.
Hey out of curiosity how did you end up with Marek? Did you try out other clinics? And how long have you used Marek or if you want to share the story of how you ended up on HRT I’d appreciate it, I might be close to that point. But I have been pleasantly surprised with their markups, seem reasonable and know the quality is good.
(Long read, sorry) I understand what you mean maybe but also it might be subjective. Coming from an engineering background and field, you want to have robust design that are engineered to look forward for unforeseen circumstances and have a decent factor of safety for the build. Also from a reliability/quality engineering role, preventative maintenance and regular service is a huge factor. Marek is like performing preventative maintenance on your body, you can tackle issues that your bloodwork can identify prior to them reaching the level of being permanent (insulin, blood sugar etc) tackle it before it becomes serious. Also knowing where you are with bloods, you can supplement the right things and run at 100%. Preventative blood work can pay huge dividends but it's also a premium. At least in the US (and a lot of countries) only minimal blood markers are reviewed and used only when needed, so Marek takes extra test beyond what a normal doctor would, so you can tackle it early.
Happy to provide it, saw a few people ask for an updated one on some other videos so I knew I had to but much hasn’t changed just experimenting with some stuff. If any questions or suggestions come up for next video or things you want to know lmk!
If you want more detail or more in depth there is a 30 day review of it on my channel a few months back. But the TLDR is my experience with injectable L-carnitine has been great. I have taken a few breaks or slowed down my pace of usage just as my common areas would start to get sore or sensitive (user error injecting the same locations too frequently). Personally, I feel like it helps energy levels a good bit and might have helped with my treatment from Marek (but it’s anecdotal kind of hard to prove fully). Also played around of dosages and have not experienced any negative side effects, I’ve experienced worse from oral L-carnitine (like stomach and gut issues). Worst I’ve had from injecting is like a bad injection where it bubbled or bleed or hit a sensitive spot but nothing major. I have been a fan so far.
There is no real answer to that, for one it depends on the form you are taking, the dosage, and how your body interacts with it. You could take minimal and be inflamed or you could be blasting it orally and be fine. It's really DYOR and monitor how your body works with it.
