i never sistematized this but always felt this, runs always ended very balanced in terms of weapon variety, knowing that this is for real now really facilitates metagaming and loot manipulation
I beleive that the rng department is where the gungeon banishes things that it rejects probably why the enemies from the forgotten chambers would be there and why they show up nowhere else.
To be honest I thought this game happened before Enter The Gungeon, I though that the Rat being out meant this game was set before he came to the Gungeon, not after he escaped.
This makes so much damn sense. Anyone who has played a lot of runs, think how often you have synergies that need two guns from the same class?!? I got a smiley and shades revolver a couple days ago for the first time in literally…. 750 hour. 😮
Just so i understand, lmao... These ErrorLogs that pop if in an else-if statement where supposedly a function doesn't for whatever reason do it's own thing. They won't ever even happen. Nor will these logs appear, since for a thing like this to happen, a line of code has to be skipped via a bug of some kind. These can happen of course, it happens very rarely tho, and can happen in literally any game. Still tho, if some line of code is skipped, the program would either crash or stop responding. So these ErrorMessages are made just for the fun of it. I guess it was literally made for anyone who got the source code material, to literally read it.
Cue Bullet's name and lore description refer to Scorsese's 1986 classic 'The Color of Money', and "Blast Eddie" is a play on Paul Newman's character's sobriquet "Fast Eddie" whose method of earning money is "sharking" (losing games on purpose and pretending to be drunk so the other player and his friends eventually bet big and end up losing all their money when the shark starts playing well), and defeating more of his opponents increases his wealth in tournaments, which translates as increased knockback - ostensibly of pool balls - in ETG 😜. In 'Trainspotting' Begbie recounts a tale of playing pool with Tommy at a local pub that begins as follows: "Picture the scene: The other fuckin' week there, down the fuckin' Volley with Tommy, playing pool. I'm playing like Paul-Fuckin'-Newman by the way. Givin' the boy here the tannin' of a lifetime...." Just a bit of trivia for you, and if you haven't seen either film you really should.
Man, i dunno why this game is so amazing. I mean I love it, what im saying is that its incredible how it all comes together. The lore, guns, items, ambience, music, references, jokes, art, polish... I could play this game forever and seeing how it was made, I miss to capture its essence. It is just special, thats as much as I can say, so many things executed to perfection that no other (in my opinion) indie roguelike achieved to its level. Im not undermining other games, all im saying is that for me they dont come close to gungeon. Maybe you could gave me insights of why I feel this way with this particular game. And I say you because you are the youtuber that has invested more than anyone in gungeon. What is this essence this game has? Why other indie roguelikes cant seem to capture it? Im so inspired by this game I fear that if I make a game I have to at least reach the polish this game has
