i dont agree. this is not for 'beginners'. this would drive beginners mad. its an improvisational synthesiser. you can get incredible sounds out of it. knowing how to use and sequence/loop those sounds takes practice.
@et4able lol I wasnt sure if you were going to remember me. You are welcome! I loved the song. There must have been a RU-vid update because you popped up on my Subscriptions icon and were never there before or it would have made my playlist sooner! Looks like it's been a little bit since it came out. Are you still making music? Also, I'm doing well! Switched from physics to banking a while back.
@@t0conner that’s funny you think I wouldn’t remember you. Of course I do! The world of banking is not one I’m too familiar with, but I bet you’re killing it. And yes I’m still making music. There will be more releases soon. I have some instrumental tracks I will release under a different name and then a few more songs like the above with my voice. Are you on insta? I want to hear more about what’s transpired in the last 14 or so years 😆
I am a electronic music hobbyist, graphic design teacher and recent fan of your videos. I have to say I really like your videos calm style, partly due to your soothing voice. Wish you would make more, but I guess life can get in the way so I understand. PS I see you switched up the typography on your thumbnails. May I ask the name of the handwritten font on these batch of videos?
Whoa thank you!! You’ve inspired me a bit I have to say. And yeah I was busy getting a Masters degree and then making a bunch of music, but it has been on the back of my mind. I’ll get goin’ again! As to the font, I’ll check and get back to you when I’m near my computer (on my phone atm). My bro helps with the thumbnails as he studied design in school! So cool that you’re a graphic design teacher and make music too - very creative person!
That was a great tutorial and I love this thing. It was a toss up between the sub harmonicon or this. I am a violin player for my sins and I can see me getting attached to the lyre! I particularly like that minty green. It’s the same colour as the inside of a Chieftain Tank! Won,t tell you how I know that. Yes the thing is built like a tank and I like the squareness of it. I am also unpredictable and odd so the machine and I will get on fine. Thanks so much for your heads up on it and yes I join the others in enjoying your quiet considerate voice. I much prefer this to Some of the overkill OTT excitement of other presenters.
Very good instruction. I ordered the e25 digitone and it was delivered. Sadly I'm a trucker out on the road and haven't put my hands on it yet. Can't wait!
If you have an understanding how to control the Lyra then you can take it where you want it to be. It can be highly predictable if you wish. I’ve taken this thing through space and back to where I started from. Explore away without limitations 🎹
Hey thanks for the vid. I assume the new firmware song mode supersedes this approach? Also: is there a way for notes on a midi track to be recorded by the Digitone sequencer? I have midi files and I’d like the notes to be on my Digitone - then use the synth there or a connected synth to play those notes while I alter parameters. I though this video was that method :( Though it’s seem there may only need to be minor changes to this workflow to make that happen?
The Buzzzy and Töörö are tiny synth but with very quick accessible configurations. Really love this special workflow by Fred’s Lab. Fits perfectly to my available space for gear and my preferences.
Thanks for the video! I think it would be amazing if we could program the internal sequencer from overbridge also. This would really help out with bring it to gigs and using the internal stuff for performing my track :)
Great video, all of yours are really helpful! Just got the digitone finally and it’s appreciate all the info. The arp stuff was super helpful. Do you know if you can trig lock steps on the arp to make some steps longer than others or have steps play at different speeds?
@@et4able that would be so rad!!! The arp is great but i wish you could do a couple more things with it like that! But the limitations make you try stuff you might never have!
Anyone else think the LFO is unnecessarily complicated as far as the BPM calculation is concerned? Like I get it, but why not just have it so you can directly set increments of 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc, or turn that off and set it as a Hz/kHz value. Math :(
Thank you for this practical/ hands-on introduction to Töörö!!! More and more musicians get to hear about it, it's cool you're participating in spreading the word. A couple of things : when storing a multi, only the IDs of the presets, MIDI configuration and effects parameters are stored. Therefore you need to save the edits to your sounds individually before switching from one multi to an other. When using the ARP in a DAW configuration, better not setting it to HOLD as if you are muting parts while playing the arrangement or simply stopping the playback, the ARP will go on! (unless receiving an All Notes Off message - clicking twice on stop in Ableton Live transport controls). That's about it, greetings from Germany 😉
@@et4able you're welcome! Not meaning to correct here, just giving some hints as synths like Töörö are not so simple and many aspects of its configuration are not obvious 😉
One thing I forgot : if you don't want the ARP pattern to be interrupted by lack of voices, put the this part in mono mode so one voice will always be allocated for it!
