A congressional medal of honor? LMAO Yea it's implied he got his "Safety" (with a branded tattoo to never forget the horrors he's done he didn't expect atleast) but the fact he thought he'd be acknowledged in publicly let alone given a freaking medal in history is surreal, even the ppl recruited in Operation Paperclip took decades to even be revealed, and as others mentioned it's funny he looks to Aldo when saying they all deserve medals like he's doing him a favor is just great writing xD Dude knew the ship was gonna sink, might as well help it go down a little faster and save yourself, what a a-hole you love to hate

I feel the US high command would find landa far too useful to let anything really bad happen, i like to imagine he kept on working for US military catching any runaways of the Reich.

“property on nantauket island”… this is strangely specific as most people will just ask for things like big mansion or a lot of money

No date. I would prefer it to be as clinical and boring as possible. Romantic feelings should not be encouraged. I am being humiliated here, right? That’s all there is to it. Feelings are all nonsense. I was assigned to them as a partner. I appreciated the kindness of Grandpa and his willingness to make sure I was taken care of. That’s it. I don’t care for these people personally. I just do what I’m told to and what is asked of me. Because I am a commie. I didn’t realise that I was a commie at 16, I was just told to be obedient and listen to orders. I wouldn’t have understood even if someone told me about communism anyway. Because I was too young to understand the seriousness of it and not react badly

Judging by the amount of Nazis we took in after the war I won't be surprised if some of them traded valuable information for their immunity.

There is no up side for the Americans to honor this agreement after the deed is done. No one is going to buy that the OSS implanted Landa and had him kill countless Jews for a cover just to kill Hitler. Even if they did, Landa being who he is is going to attract a lot of negative attenton. Secondly, if they kill Landa the whole thing can be made to look like Aldo's daring strike at the Nazi leadership, no Nazi help required.

The thing is, he is not wrong, he could have destroyed the operation VERY early in the movie, but did not, only by his hubris and greed, was the operation able to be completed

This would never work in real life. With the nazis defeated Landa would have no leverage to compel the US military to honor the deal and they would simply execute/lock him up.

I just had the idea that Landa's life after the war would make a great sequel for Inglorious Basterds. The plot would focus on his life in (Nantucket?) maybe 18 years or so after the war ended (so 1962 or 63). He might appear to just be a rich, quirky old recluse (with an unsightly scar on his forehead) living a monotonous existence until....someone from his Nazi past shows up to blackmail or taunt him. Maybe even have a tie in with the plot to assassinate Kennedy? The big question (to be answered at the end) might be: did Landa truly repent or is he still his old evil self? Maybe it is too late for this? But maybe not. Hopefully QT will read this and be inspired.

Jesus Christ died for all of our sins. He died the death we all deserved. He was the perfect one who never sinned once, but he loved us so much he decided to die for us so our sins would be paid for and we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven before God the Father blamelessly. He is the living son of God who wants to know us and have a personal relationship with us. No matter what you have done no matter how far gone you think you are Jesus can and will save you. All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Believe that he died on the cross for your sins and had a bodily resurrection 3 days later. We cannot be saved by our works but by faith in Christ alone. Repent and turn to Christ. You will have joy, happiness, love, and peace beyond understanding.

There's really nothing stopping the guy on the other end of the line agreeing to whatever nonsense Landa says and as soon as he's talking to Raine saying "god does he ever shut up. Okay. As soon as he surrenders his gun, shoot the bastard with it." In fact, given the potential embarassment the US government could face in future if it ever came out who Landa really was and how pampered he was being by them, leaving his corpse in the woods would seem like a far preferable option.

I’ve recently read about an operation Sunrise after WW2. The Nuremberg trials are underway, and despite Americas “unconditional surrender” policy, OSS member Allen Dulles led the charge to either white wash or hide key Nazi leadership. This was done as a means to combat the Soviets in the future. Some people in American politics at the time, saw Russia as the true threat and the war against Fascism should result in a preservation of Nazi leadership as a frontline base against communism.
