I'm just a girl who loves adventure & traveling. This channel was started to share my adventures with friends and family - and to document memories that I can refer back to later on down the road of life. In addition, I hope they can both inspire some others (especially women!) to get outdoors and experience the benefits of nature... or to hop in their car or on a plane and see the beauty of the world. I started this channel when I decided to advance from still images on the 'gram to video for my 2022 AT thru hike attempt, wherein I hiked 540 miles. I'll be reattempting a thru hike of the AT in 2024 and can't wait to have you along for the journey.
So smart, views, and smiles. I also 100% agree with you about the alternate routes. If the other long trails all have that option, why is the AT such a stickler about it .... or are they??? I also can relate to talking about what your plans are for food. Lol lol. That's all I think about on trail, camping f for the night, water and food. I plan my restaurants out, too. Love the videos and chats, thank you.
Not my best AT trip last March in that section. A cold front came in and was -5° the first night, and -7° the next. Decided to bail , and waited for the shuttle in that bathroom at Elk Garden 🥶 My gear was rated to °32 .
I have heard that the creeper trail WAS the AT before it became a bike trail. I spoke with many people who used that trail. It’s much more scenic, and makes the hike enjoyable. Good call!
I hope you didn't park under that big oak tree at the library like I did. My car was completely covered in bird 💩 after 3 weeks , had to wash it on the way home 🤣
I was under some trees and definitely had some 💩 on my brand new car. I have to take it through the car wash this week. Luckily I was only parked 4 days and not 3 weeks!!
Have such a newfound love for VA after a short section in the Whites last summer😂 Husband and I are headed up for a section in two weeks to finally finish VA and hopefully get to the Mason-Dixon Line!
As a viewer, I’m so proud of what you’ve done! I watched in 2022, and you’ve grown so much. You’re more thoughtful, independent and you did such a great job conquering the hardest states. ♥️
I just switched from a Hyperlite Junction 55 to the Kakwa 55. So far so good. It carries nicely but I don’t have an overnight in it yet. The collar is wider and accommodates my bear can better but it is also shorter which makes it harder to pack. Since you carry a bear bag, that should not be an issue for you. Good luck.
I’m curious. Now that you started from both sides. Which way did you enjoy more? I’m thinking about doing a SOBO at some point but I so enjoyed my NOBO thru.
New Jersey was great. The only rattle and copperheads I saw were in Pennsylvania 😂. Can’t wait for the pack review. I’m looking for a new one as well. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
You have explained how my brain works when I hit that wall on the trail. When it’s time to go home, that time is now! 😂 I’ve had that happen many times. I believe it’s good mentally to go home at that point because you don’t want to push it to where you never want to hike again. You need to enjoy your hike and look forward to returning. Keep rockin! 🤟
Think of it this way....how many of the 350 million US residents can complete what you have done. It has to be less than 1%. You're a rock star - and should be proud of your accomplishments!
Followed you in 2022 and never felt you failed anything. You did a huge section in 2022, and now 3 of the hardest states and part of MA, this time out. I know you have also completed many more miles as well in between. You have been and continue to do awesome. Be proud of yourself. You're doing more than many of us have even tried. Excited for future adventures. 👏👏👏🎊🎉🥳
I don’t think I could have the discipline to do all you have done. You are on course to complete the trail! (When you want to!) You have completed the hardest states!! :) ❤ ❤
Follower since your first. SUCCESSFUL LASH. Being a section hiker just means we get to see your awesome videos for more time to come. Huge congrats on this LASH….what a way to push the hardest miles!!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Congrats on getting more miles in. After this you only have a few hundred miles left to complete the trail if I remember correctly. You can knock those out easily a little at a time. Before you know it, you will have this trail finished. Only you know when it's time to go home. We are proud of your progress. Much respect from Texas.
Nothing wrong with section hiking. I've decided that thru hiking isn't enjoyable for me. I totally get it. Do you know if "Mike" is still out there? We hiked with him for a few weeks in Maine.
I've really enjoyed watching your videos! Thanks for sharing your journey and honest thoughts/reflections along the way with us. I was wondering when you'd decide to come off the trail (esp. after getting thru ME, NH, and then VT)...
I've been a follower for a few years and totally enjoy your videos. You are a LASHER for sure. You've done so much of the trail, and I think, by far, you just completed 3 of the hardest states, ME, NH & VT. You're so close to completing MA, too. So proud of you. It's great to hear you're proud too. You're doing what you can, what you want, and doing it your way. I'll be excited to see what's next. Jordan is a sweetheart, so supportive and always happy to join your adventures. You're both doing great. Stay safe, have fun and a HUGE thank you for all the videos. You did a fantastic job hiking south. 🎊🪅⛰️👏👏👏
I completely understand that if it's no longer enjoyable it's time to go home. I couldn't get a ride from DWG to the MA/CT state line for a sobo back to my vehicle, so I'm going to resume in Virginia later this month instead.
So proud of you for getting this far! 👏 Being a LASHer is fun, because you can pick and choose when and where you want to conquer next... with SO much less pressure 😊 (coming from a fellow LASHer).
Sad to see you leaving the trail. But you have to do what's best for you and your health. I will truly miss you my friend. What kind of work do you do? Keep smiling my friend 😊😊
Alicia, only you know when it's time to go home. I would never be upset with someone because they did. I don't think I could be away from my wife and dogs for as long as you have been. Do you, girl, we will watch when you get back out to do more miles. If you aren't having fun, it's probably time. Stay safe and keep smiling.
Did you ever run into Gabby . I followed her on the Appalachian attempt last year I believe. Hopefully she will post some videos of the trail she is on.
I loved father Tom’s campsite. Everything you need other than than the rocky ground for tent stakes. A great day even if it was mostly rainy. Happy trails.🤟🏻🥾🏔
That was terrible and stressful waiting on that ride. If they hav e a newspaper in that town put an article in it . Stay safe and enjoy your time with h your husband.❤
That must have been stressful waiting and wondering if and when you would get a ride. I'm going to google the Bennington triangle. Good thing you brought your camp chair, it came in handy for you. Keep smiling it looks good on you! Happy hiking my friend😊😊😊 😊😊😊
