Fao Schwartz is an AMAZING store to browse, UNLESS it's in the last 3 months of the year. Don't even think about getting CLOSE to it the weekend after Turkey Day. The line will literally go around the block twice!
Well it was obvious the Admiral has had experience consuming adult beverages in public and yet still having a good time. Mark a quick but not so happy ending to a story on why you should care about the boat captain. Our DIL's mother was 7 months pregnant with her when her father who was a medic/under water welder on a oil rig in the gulf was coming back in from the rig on the company work boat and was asleep in a berth down below when the drunk captain hit another ship and her father's berth collapsed and he suffocated to death.
Looks like y’all had a nice short visit NYC. Bell looked like she really enjoyed the toy store. That place looks amazing. When I saw the big keyboard it made me think of the movie Big. Being there on y’all’s boat going past the Statue of Liberty had to be amazing.
@@TheBoomershines love to see it as it's not one you see a lot here I'm from Ohio wishing you all the best on the adventures looks like a absolute blast!!
So fun that you did a review on one of your future buddy boats! This is pre-GoGo, that was refreshed and upgraded before the start of the loop. The happy owners are still cruising fulltime almost 3 years after purchase.
GoGo just keeps getting better and better!!! So grateful we got to be buddy boats with you. Can't imagine doing the Loop without you. We miss you tons!!! xoxo
@@andrewbecker2580 Sanity! Ha! All joking aside a buddy boat takes so much pressure off of a single boat. Examples… if a boat breaks down a buddy boat can assist in many ways either with a tow or tools. Route planning and weather planning often are great with other inputs from other buddy boats. Locking with other buddy boats in a convoy help secure a place in the lock wall and more timely openings by the lock master. Friendship is also a wonderful aspect of buddy boats. It’s other people to go have docktails with besides your own crew. Those are just few examples. That being said some lone wolf salty sailors want nothing to do with other boaters. To each their own! Hope that helps explain. ⚓️Mark
I didn't realize you could have more than one active offer out at once. Your search has helped a LOT of people know what to look for....in SUCH an entertaining way!
Thnx for sharing your adventure! Incredible experience for your family. I’m a boater for years, but sadly once below I suffer like the kitty’s. No Loop for me.
@@JoeHasGotToGo Detroit Diesel Series 60’s which are also branded MTU. 12.7 Liter 6 cylinder inline turbo diesels creating 720 hp each. Very powerful, highly efficient and no smoke. She was repowered in 2008 and when we purchased her in February 2022 she had 700 hours on each engine. They easily last 10,000 hours. ⚓️Mark
Worst case scenario- boat goes out of the water onto a trailer before the Chicago bridge and back in afterwards. Of course, since this video is post Great Loop completion a solution was definitely found. lol…
@@jz6782 SeaShine was too tall even with the flybridge hardtop off to clear any 14 foot overpass as well as too heavy to transport by road at 41 tons. ⚓️Mark
Ho Hum ..... NYC..... Never really understood the excitement....... and Yes I have been there, both by land and by sea. But I am glad that you are enjoying yourselves. Cruising up the Hudson should be much more exciting. No more seas and swells. The ship kitties are going to love it
LOL To each their own for sure :). But can you at least admit that arriving by boat while navigating all the giant barges, speeding ferries, and all sorts of other boats is more exciting than arriving by train or auto? :)
So glad you liked it! More episodes coming soon! We try to post every Friday at 5:00 but sometimes life gets in the way so turn on notifications just in case :). Thanks for watching and for the sweet comment.
oh, I truly don’t know well yes I do know how excited I was when we dropped the hook behind the Statue of Liberty and what you don’t know is how much I enjoy your videos.
We are so glad you enjoy our videos! We regret not anchoring behind Lady Liberty. If we do it again, we would definitely anchor for one night before going to a marina. I bet that experience was AMAZING!!!
So glad you experienced smoother waters on the Chesapeake. That was a night and day difference. Those little annoying bugs…I do so hate them, but it would be far worse if they were mosquitoes!!! Mosquitoes and I don’t get along very well. Life has been a little busy and I got a bit behind in watching your journey. It’s always a pleasure to watch you guys. I’m off to watch the next episode and try to get caught up.
Mosquitos are the WORST! Thankfully, the little bugs in the Chesapeake didn't bite or sting. They just overwhelmed us with their sheer volume LOL. Catch up any time. We will be here :)
Wait...did Mark say that when he dangled the line that was 19 feet 6 inches long from the top of the boat it was an inch ABOVE the water? Because that would mean that he measured the boat's air height as being 19 feet 7 inches! If the boat was shorter than 19 feet 6 inches, then the bottom tip of the line should have been under the water. It sounds like you folks have to find a way for your boat to sit lower in the water...or hope for a time when the water is low enough...I cannot wait to find out. 😁
@@TheBoomershines Ah yes! That's the ticket! Exactly what you need. And of course, there are many ways to ballast a boat down, especially when you only need a little over an inch.
Hope you guys enjoyed waterside it's been around there since 1983 I live in the neighborhood next to waterside which is the gint neighborhood you guys have a great day in contract to balthruster work out it takes real expertise to get that right
im 54.. and a 12 year Survivor of Pancreatic Cancer.. im selling my house, buying a houseboat.. and spending the rest of my life, on the Loop.. 😇🙏 well, thats the Dream 😇👍

@@jerrycreighton2941 it was a great way for them to keep in touch with their friends on land. Yes. We did limit their time. They also were in “home school” roughly from 10 am to about 3-4 pm so you may be seeing some of that. Every family does what works for them. Thanks for the concern😂⚓️Mark
I remember as a kid I blew my last couple of dollars on carnival games and got nothing and I was soooo mad too. I felt Rex's pain! Wondering if Tony Soprano was your Uber driver!
Great question! The NJ section of the ICW is notoriously shallow. Most Loopers go out in the Atlantic for that section. A few small, shallow draft boats do the NJ ICW every year but SeaSHINE could not do it.
There is a section from Carrabelle to Steinhatchee, Fl across the top of the Gulf of Mexico, a little bit over 50 miles of open water. There is NO way to avoid that leg unless you have a trailerable boat. You also have to consider the Great Lakes, which are essentially fresh water oceans for a boat the size of SeaShine.
@@michiganengineer8621 You’ll get to see all of that in upcoming episodes! We had great travels through Canada and the Great Lakes and crossing in the Gulf we ran 29 hours straight on the overnight on a spectacular moonlight calm night with about 10 other boats! Stay tuned for all that goodness and thanks for watching! ⚓️Mark
