Thank you Father Barnabas even though I am Roman Catholic I'm still recognize you guys this part of the first church and that if I need a religious question answered, I can always go to you guys as well peace be with you my love is with you despite any Schism that has caused us to be separated from each other and both be one again
In principle, I love this video. On another level, I have mixed feelings. People with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. autism, adhd) often find environmental and social stressors overwhelming. This overwhelm can lead to burnout, a state that looks very 'stuck-like', or responses (shutdown, meltdown) that may seem 'infantile' or out of proportion to a person's life stage and age. Their everyday coping mechanisms to navigate a confusing and stressful world may seem 'infantile' or 'weird' to onlookers who lack understanding of these conditions. If you're autistic, it can get very hard working out which states/responses are due to your neurophysiology, and which are due to sin, rebellion and lack of repentance. It's even harder to find a priest/father confessor who understands.
😮 I know what you're talking about father it only takes waking up from a good dream and ending up committing a mortal sin and from there, you can get stuck making bad decisions and being stuck committing sin after sin after sin
Thank you Father for a wonderful preaching you do, both in words and actions. I am 20 years older and I have heard the same thing 5 more times often - "This is the most important election in your life!" On a different note, I once read that Ghandi, during an interview, was asked what he thought about all the Christian missionaries in India. Mahatma responded that the Indian people are very hospitable and welcoming. He went on to say that, if the Christians would just do what they were talk about all the time, they would convert all of India. I am sorry I lost the source of that interview. I found it while preparing a talk I was to give. I have since heard that interview referred to by two priests and I have used it in a sermon myself.

I love the Greek Eastern Orthodox Church. My Spiritual Father is a Greek Orthodox Monk and he has literally turned my heart to Orthodoxy from non denominational Charismatic Christianity.
I think my hardest battle with repenting has been thinking I am the one to forgive myself. I am so incredibly hard on my self because of my fear of God that I paralyze myself. I suffer and don't forgive myself. Even though he would because he loves me.. This a pill I'm still trying to swallow and I don't know why it's so hard.
