In the first minute, I’m reminded of modern America. Foolishness, incredulity, winter of despair. That’s what govt’s inflation of the currency does. Best of times for the rich (who hold lots of assets), worst of times for everyone else (who holds dollars). 😢

The greatest irony of communism is that it will only work if you have an extremely brutal authoritarian government that controls everyone to guarantee equality for al and to collectivize everything… Communism is definitely an attractive idea but it just won’t work, humans are too complicated for it. Maybe in the future if we reach peak technological dominance over the entire galaxy and there’s nothing else left to do, we can genetically engineer ourselves to be psychic meditating alien creatures that don’t need food or water to survive and don’t depend on resources. In that case we will reach pure communism and equality for all. As for today…well no one knows what’s ideal. One thing that can be done atleast is better worker conditions, and universal access to things like healthcare.

hey buddy <3 sorry to say but the first section here actually invalidates a lot of what u said. Some guiding questions to consider: 1 - What are my conceptions of "brutal authoritarianism?" Can any of these concerns be said to apply also to countries that endorse capitalism? 2 - Is my idea of Capitalism as the default and most effective economic system something that is demonstrable? Is my idea of human nature as inherently compatible and synergistic with Capitalism something that is demonstrable? 3 - What class may stand to benefit from me, a member of the working class, being convinced that I am living under the most reliable economic system available, and that any problems with it are problems inherent to human nature since it's just "too complicated?" The reason I bring up section 1 is because it doesn't even bring up communism. Its entire purpose is explaining not the issues of capitalism or the benefits of socialism, but how capitalism as a system naturally works toward its own demise/evolution into socialism and is inherently unsustainable!

I wanna see a prequel that shows how a formerly more-healthy Kurtz was able to convince the tribes to follow him, and how he got all that ivory “at great personal risk.”

1960s Liverpool Anfield Comprehensive School a teacher by the name of Stan Smith kept the whole class on the edge of their seats one afternoon each week as he read one chapter of King Solomon's Mines, it did become such a talking point and how his class was so lucky, there where a large number of requests from other students to sit in on the reading. Later in my life I realised that Stan smith had sown the seed of Rider Haggard and his stories of wild Africa and Dearing Do! I eventually did read a lot of his Novels

Awful. Quite simply, awful. A monotonous monologue. The lip smacking was also irritating.

I am a writer. For my second book, I am planning to put my characters through my own dark, twisted version of Wonderland. I really wanted to listen to the original novel so I could know what characters and plot elements I could legally use. This was the best audiobook I found!

I am posting this because this is the first Black Beauty video that lets me post and before watching this every Black Beauty movie and book always described his birth being with his mom his coat changing than being put in with other yearlings and then the training in great detail non ever tell about him being turned into a gilding so it leads me to think Black Beauty was a stallion if everything was described in detail why was that never addressed so that is my thoughts what does everyone else think

This novel could have been one of my favorites but unfortunately the author spoiled it for me. I understand however, wouldn't be in other way for a 1800s audience. I think Erik and Christine should have been together as couple. That character Roul is senseless and is only there as Erik's antagonist. In my opinion, Erik possessed an over average intelligence in many aspects, not only musical. I think his IQ was superior like genius level and he and Christine have much more things in common than Roul, also in they have similar personalities. The only problem was Erik's deformity. This novel could have a deeper meaning if Christine and Erik remained together but again.. The novel wasn't going to be successful and very few could have been able understand it other way around. It's like the hunchback of Notre dame. Awful ending to me., sadly.
