I drive a 2020 MDX. We love the Acura, but hate the info-tainment system. Message to the Interior Team at Acura engineering. When you redesigned the MDX from the ground up in 2021-22 you "had one job to do".....fix the info-tainment disaster that is criticized by the car reviewers every year. So you would start by looking at the best reviews out there, like Jeep. Chrysler gets one of the best ratings for intuitive info-tainment on their touch screens. We were really shocked to see the "mouse pad" arrangement on the new Acura. Does the team leader who thought this was a good idea still work there?? We will never consider another Acura for this reason. Cars today are a computer on wheels so the dash controls are VERY IMPORTANT. Too bad they failed, because otherwise Acura is a great car. Tells you something when new Acura owners need a RU-vid video to operate the car, just sayin.
I have a 2022 MDX Advance... waiting on my 2025 Advance to arrive...looking forward to touchscreen. Wondering if you might know the answer to TWO questions: 1) my messages in Apple CarPlay used to ask me if I wanted to "reply" after it read out the message to me. It doesn't seem to do that anymore -- is there a setting that has changed and I can reset?? 2) the wireless charger is a MESS in my current car -- NEVER really worked well -- always seems to "disengage" after a short time. Acura and Apple have been aware (Acura has had a service document out there since 2022... ) Wondering if they made any improvements to the wireless charger for 2025? Hopefully so!
I love my 2021 rdx a spec, but the fact that I can’t display the digital speed next to the speedometer is so stupid. It’s not that big of a deal, but really? It’s worth noting that newer models fixed this glitch and the advanced trim has the heads up display. The 360 camera in the advanced trim seems pretty cool as well.
I have a 2019 RDX and am very disappointed with my car. The main reason is that the 360 all-around view cameras have very poor resolution, and I can barely see all objects around. In reverse, it's also impossible to see anything, regardless of whether it's day or night. The display itself is small, and it becomes even smaller when using the cameras, as part of the screen remains dark. The most frustrating thing is that after four years of use, the display broke, and it cost me $1,008 to repair. So, before buying a car, check the screen and make sure it meets your expectations. Personally, I won't buy an Acura again. I previously had a 2012 Lexus RX and deeply regret trading it for what I have now.
Did you add an extra zero in that price? Based on your post I had to see how much they are going for. The average price was $300.00. I hope you didn`t pay 10k.
@@anthonyb9364 Sorry for my misspelling. I paid $1,008. It is only to replace just a display. By the way, they even kept my bad display. I did complain about that but it was said that price could be even higher if I could keep the bad display. Completely ripped off.
The 70/30 split on the infotainment in the 2022‐2024 MDX is a colossal miss. For me, it takes a solid 9/10 car to a 6/10 at best. The smaller side never displays anything of value. Especially when using Andriod or CarPlay. This looks better, but still not as good as competitors.
Hi there! thank you for all the useful information. I just have one question. In my 2023 subaru forester touring there is a blue light next to the light switch and the SOS (i) bottons that I don't know why it's lit. Do you know?
I believe that means you have an active subscription to Subaru Starlink, if I'm not mistaken. Or if it's not the one in between "i" and "sos" it's just a light so that at night when you're in the car you can still see some a little bit inside the car
Thank you for your tutorial it was super useful. You saved me many hours of experimentation. Now I don’t have to read many pages. You explain it in a very simple and easy way. Greetings from Montreal. 👍
Do you need the wifi hotspot to have google maps (the non-offline version) work? Or does it just work when your phone is connected? Planning to upgrade my 2009 MDX soon!
Incredible that there is no Satellite Radio on this car....figured this out, after I purchased a Type-S. Even if you stream from your phone, you are at a risk if you lose cell service. Serious face palm!
I was also trying to figure out if this car have the xm radio. Quite a disappointment as I enjoy the built-in satellite xm radio on my TLX. like you said, even if you stream on your phone, you still at risk if you lose service, and I live in an area where I get call dropped periodically.
The password should pop up by pushing and holding the volume dial. Call your dealer as well as I think the XV has a DCM module update that will fix battery draining issues
This is such an annoying feature, the only thing we don’t like about ours. I always forget to pull the lever and have to walk all the way back around to pull it lol
THX for your info Video of the TTIP. Despite your tips & tricks, I still Don't Like it after 3 years of a 22 MDX Advance ownership. I will try to follow your tips particulalry with AA engaged. Don't know about you, but I find when engaged in AA, the Touch pad becomes a God Awful SLOW mouse pad. And You can't play FD Sticks while in AA. The new 25 MDX has the Acura's new Touch Screen! Far superior in everyway! That upgrade makes me Jealous and somewhat angry at Acura. I find that with the TTIP, I take my eys off the road much more to see where I'm at on the pad and the screen. Fortunately, I have HUD. HUD helps and using the steering wheel controls eases the pain too. You should have put more emphasis on the Short Cuts Icon as well. I'm trying to Master that more for fast access to radio stations, Music selections and sources, phone calls, etc.
For the phone calls and radio I tend to use the voice commands a lot more since they work well or using the buttons on the left side of the wheel to cycle through radio stations. With the TouchPad there should be no reason to look down at it when driving since wherever you are touching will highlight on the screen. But I can understand the frustrations with it. Android Auto sometimes can be a little slow when it comes to responsiveness, but I think it's mainly because the system isn't designed well enough for the layouts of AA or CarPlay
