This page is like a Buddhist sand mandala. When it seems finished, I will delete it and start again. The enjoyment of the creative practise is in the process, not the end product of that process. Each stage is just another wrung on “Wittgenstein’s ladder.”

This is a patchwork of three different versions of this track. Each version has vastly different filter and EQ settings and effects. It was an experimental project that sort of got out of control when I began over a year ago. I like the raw noisiness of it, but I’d like to edit it down to a 3 or 4 minute track. Not sure I’ll keep it posted. I don’t get many views, so I suppose it doesn’t matter if I white-board my pieces here before further edits. I tend to do a lot of thinking out loud with music. Not a great thing for the unwitting listener, but good for my creative process. I promised myself I wouldn’t issue long, verbose explanations like this anymore. But I’m talking more to myself than to you and will likely remove this post soon. Listener may experience static white noise, drone distortion or sudden frequency/volume changes. Harmonic irregularities and imbalances may also be experienced. This is normal. Daydreams don’t always sound like the music heard in new age meditation apps or a deep space film score. Sometimes the terrain contains some potholes, dirt roads, dust storms, inclement weather: melodic, lo-fi dream noise from the subconscious borderland of ego ambiguity.
@@bigb2020 A good music memory indeed. I’m surprised I was able to capture an entire song. Pretty fuzzy video quality, but sound isn’t bad. @@Benandlandon Yeah, they inject a lot of money into our economy, so I always appreciate tourists, but just as happy to have my city and walking paths back to myself come mid-September.

There’s another musician of that era who I actually saw live at a festival in the 90s named Marc Olsen, and had my memory wires crossed when typing the name. lofi, primitive chord-loop driven piece that ebbs and flows in sometimes unexpected ways. I made this a couple years ago when I just started orientating myself to DAW tech. I’m still not that good at it, but thinking back, ignorance can produce some decent, honest, raw music.

Hello, thanks for dropping in for a listen. This is an edited version of “Sonata for a Warped Piano and a Broken Brain”; the original runs 9+minutes, and you can find that version somewhere in my video uploads, same title. The piece was originally conceived as a metaphor (or music simulation) for mental breakdown, or for the casual listener, just a weird experimental piano piece. There is modulation ambiguity, so you can hear it in G-major or D-major, or both, depending on where in the chord progression you hear the tonic. Have a fine rest of your day. ✌️

@AetherPavilion That's understandable, I listened to the original again, and I gotta say I prefer your voice. If you were to make a full cover, I'd gladly listen to it for days nonstop, your voice is beautiful, makes the song have a different feel.
@@loggingfire1 Thanks. I actually did the full version. It’s on my old dormant songwriter channel, Songs for Sleepwalkers, but I may have made that track private or removed it. I did a few Wilco covers over the years, really liked the ambient effects in songs on YHF, especially Reservations. This current project, Aether Pavilion, is mostly ambient/experimental focused for the longer videos, but have decided to revive original and cover songs in the Shorts section. I don’t get much traffic here, which is fine. It’s my quiet little corner of RU-vid.

Carbon Based Lifeforms music seems antithetical to lofi production, but I’ve always heard a beautiful acoustic, almost folk melody in this track. Full track available upon request.
