Please do the following: - Prepare a notarized affidavit explaining the discrepancy between the names on your application and parents' full legal names. This affidavit should clarify that the names refer to the same individuals despite the missing first names. - Gather additional supporting documents that show parents' full names, such as their passports, marriage certificate, or other official identification documents. - Contact VFS Global or the relevant Indian embassy/consulate to inform them about the error and ask for guidance on how to submit the corrected information. - You may need to provide a written explanation of the mistake, along with the notarized affidavit and supporting documents. - Be prepared to upload or submit these additional documents as requested by VFS or the embassy/consulate. - In your communication with VFS or the embassy, emphasize that this is not a name change but a correction of an application error.
Hey Julie, Here are some potential solutions: - Try entering the address in all lowercase letters without using the auto-populate feature. Some of my friends have reported success with this method. - Double-check that your shipping address matches exactly with the address stated on your application form. VFS requires these to be the same. - Ensure you're using a residential address, not a UPS store or "hold at location" address. - - Make sure the address you entered is correct and matches the format required by FedEx. Check for any typos or missing information. - Use the standard format for addresses, including abbreviations like "St." for Street, "Ave." for Avenue, etc. Ensure the address is within the character limits set by the form. - Enter the address on separate lines as required by the form. For example: - Line 1: House number and street name - Line 2: Apartment or suite number (if applicable) - Line 3: City, State, ZIP Code - Use the USPS address lookup tool to verify that your address is recognized. Sometimes slight changes can make it valid. - If you're still unable to proceed, try using a different web browser or clearing your browser cache. - As a last resort, you may need to contact VFS Global customer service for assistance. They have a phone line available Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 20:00 hours EST. - If the issue persists, consider using your own pre-paid shipping label instead of the VFS-provided service. However, note that FedEx pre-paid labels are not accepted, and USPS labels should not have expiry date limitations.
On the Govt Reg form, per the new checklist-1) Notary is not required, correct? 2) Does minor(below 5 years) needs to put Thumbprint at “Signature of applicant” section in the printed form? 3) Does Address proof(DL) needs to be also notarized along with self attesting it and providing “notarized Address undertaking” document?
1. Yes, as per current checklist, notary is not required. But vfs changes checklist frequently. Cannot be sure if the condition changes by the time ur mail package reaches them. 2. Yes thumbprint required 3. Address proof needs to be notarized, don't self attest when you notarize. Notarized address undertaking is reqd. Pls check video at 11:37
Q1: do i need to send the Minor Original passport along with the attested photocopy of the passport? Q2: parent’s passport. I need to send the attested copy of all the pages of parents passprt or only Biometric pages will do ?
Hey Gaurav, hope the below helps. All these questions are answered in video. 1. 31:25 to 32:00 minor passport question on original and its attested photocopy. 2. 32:00 to 32:20 regarding parents passport
Sandy, Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly delete uploaded documents from the OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) government registration website after submission. However, there are a few options you can try: 1. You can use the "OCI Document Upload/Re-upload" feature to replace previously uploaded documents with new versions, as long as your application has not yet been acknowledged by the Indian Mission/FRRO. 2. Also, you can start a new application by clicking on "New OCI Registration" and uploading a fresh set of documents. 3. If none of these options work, you may need to contact the relevant Indian Mission or FRRO directly for assistance with modifying your application.
Fingerprint is not required when you have got your fingerprints/biometrics recorded while in UAE. Only 3 documents are required to apply for PCC from outside the UAE: 1- Personal photo 2- A copy of the passport 3- A copy of the previous residency or visa In case fingerprint is asked from you, please follow the key steps below: Obtain a fingerprint card from a local police station in your current country. Schedule and attend a fingerprint appointment at your local police station or UAE Embassy/Consulate to have your fingerprints captured on the card. Get the completed fingerprint card attested by the UAE Embassy/Consulate in your country. You'll need to submit the fingerprint card, passport copy, previous UAE visa copy (if applicable), and statement of purpose. Once you have the attested fingerprint card, you can apply online through the Dubai Police website or visit a Dubai Police service center in person. Send the original attested fingerprint cards along with other required documents (passport photos, passport copy, latest UAE visa copy, reason for PCC) to the Dubai Police headquarters.
@@LearnwithAmine you literally just saved my life OMG 🥹🥹 I was so stressed about going to the police station to do the fingerprint process, send by post to the embassy in Canberra, receive it back and send to the UAE $$$$$ 😓 but after your comment I had the insight of changing the way I was doing the application I was selecting “I don’t have an emirates ID” due to it to be expired, I just changed to “I have an emirates ID” and the option for the fingerprint is gone 🥳🥳 Thanks man, truly grateful!

If all documentation is perfect and no additional request of documents, it can take a minimum of 6 weeks. Hence the processing time ranges between 6-12 weeks
No. An e-visa is a different document from a regular Indian visa or an OCI card, and they are not interchangeable for OCI application purposes. E-visas are typically for short-term visits to India and are not suitable for uploading as part of an OCI application. I am currently living at a different address than the one I provided on my I-765 form. Since my joining date is approaching, I am considering using the premium processing service. Can I provide my current address for the premium processing? Will it be an issue if this address is different from the one I initially submitted on the I-765 form?
Hello Sandeep, You should not enter a new address on Form I-907 that differs from the address on your Form I-765. Instead, you should update your address with USCIS separately. If you've changed your address after filing Form I-765, you need to notify USCIS of your new address by: - Updating your address online at www.uscis.gov/addresschange - Contacting the USCIS Contact Center - Completing and mailing Form AR-11, Alien's Change of Address Card It's important to keep your address current with USCIS for all pending applications and petitions. Updating your address ensures that you receive any correspondence or decisions regarding your case at your new address. When filing Form I-907 to request premium processing for a pending Form I-765, you should use the same address that was on your original I-765 application to avoid confusion or processing delays. After submitting the address change separately, USCIS will update your records accordingly.
If your last name exceeds the 13-character limit on the VFS website, you can follow these steps: - Enter a shortened version of your last name (up to 13 characters) when registering on the VFS website. - Write a cover letter explaining the situation, stating why you had to enter a shortened name, and mentioning that this is due to a technical limitation on the VFS website. - Include this cover letter along with your application and other documents when submitting them to the VFS Application Center. - If possible, contact VFS customer support to inform them of the issue and ask for guidance. They may provide additional instructions or solutions. This approach has worked for others with similar issues, allowing them to successfully submit their applications and receive their documents. While it's unfortunate that VFS hasn't resolved this technical limitation, following these steps should help you navigate the process without compromising the accuracy of your name on official documents.
Hi, Your previous Video and this updated checklist video is so helpful. I have one question, while uploading the documents should we upload the self-attested/Notarized copies or can we upload the original scan copies and send the physical self-attested/notarized copies in mail to consulate?
- wherever a document needs self attestation, pls don't upload self attested photo copy. Please upload scan of original document - wherever a document requires notarization, please upload notarized document only. Watch the video completely to know how to upload notarized parental authorization document.
What needs to be added if I want to file for premium processing for STEM extension, i.e. the C3C category. Do I need to enter anything in the Part 1.4 the Company or Organization name, and also in the Part 2.6 and Part 2.7 do I need to put my organizations name and EIN number. Kindly let me know. Thanks.
i have a question i updated my employer address in my I983 but clg had sent me I 20 with old employer address do i request new I 20 ? with the current address
Hello Mamatha, a change in employer or a change in employer address is considered material change. You need to inform your college, and connect with your international advisor. As per my experience, he will provide you with a new updated i20.
1. Govt reg form (some months vfs ask it to be notarized and some months only signed. Refer to most recent checklist) 2. Address undertaking by parents for minor req notarization. 3. Address proof 4. Notarized affidavit in lieu of originals 5. Parental authorization form
My VFS application was put on hold because they requested 'parents' Government Registered Marriage Certificate, which requires a registrar's signature. I followed the instructions in the May and updated June videos, but it seems the requirements for marriage certificates have changed. It appears that marriage certificates issued by religious authorities, like the Waqf board in my case, are no longer accepted. After some research, I found that Muslims and Christians in India often have their marriage certificates issued by religious authorities but need to register the marriage with the local registrar(at the place of marriage). Can anyone/@LearnwithAmine help me if dealing with similar situation or have any knowledge how to proceed?
Hello Abdul Rehman, Sorry that your waqf board marriage certificate is not accepted. In few situations, I have seen for a few applications such certificate was accepted in the past. Registering your marriage at an Indian consulate in the US is not an option if the marriage was solemnized in India. Indian consulates only register marriages that took place within their jurisdiction in the US.Given your situation, here are some potential options: Obtain a court marriage certificate from India. You may be able to do this through a representative with proper authorization. Get a notarized affidavit from both parents stating your marital status, along with supporting documents like joint bank accounts or property papers. Contact the nearest Indian consulate or embassy directly to explain your situation and ask if they can provide any alternative solutions or exceptions. Consider applying for your child's OCI after you're able to travel to India and register your marriage with civil authorities there. It's advisable to reach out to the Indian consulate or VFS Global office handling your application for the most up-to-date guidance on acceptable documentation in your specific case
@@LearnwithAmine Thanks for the detailed reply. I guess my best option here is to apply Indian visa for my child first & apply for OCI after I get the my marriage registration done when visiting India. FYI, I have friends who have marriage cert accepted(issued by waqf board) by VFS who applied prior to June month. Calling VFS customer care with the above query didn't help me - they just ask you to send the documents again just to receive an answer as to if a document is accepted or not.
@LearnwithAmine - As for visiting India on eVisa, Is there something to be done if need to stay more than 180 days ? That was the reason I went for OCI initially.
If you plan to stay longer than 180 days, you will need to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival. Failure to do so can result in fines and penalties. It is possible to apply for OCI for a minor child within India, The child must be "ordinarily resident" in India, which means staying in India for a continuous period of 6 months. ALSO, there are specific requirements and conditions.
AbdulRahman, You can try for oci here in usa using notarized marriage affivadit, with supporting documentation including joint bank account, and property documents
If you are outside UAE, and ur emirates id expired while you were outside, YES, you can apply and receive PCC with your expired emirates ID card. If you are insidee UAE, and ur emirates id expired, it is recommended to renew emirates ID before you apply for PCC
I tried getting a good thumb impression of my 4-month-old baby, but the fingerprint isn't coming through. Only the ink shows up on the paper. Is that fine? will embassy consider it?
For babies who are small that age, fingerprint appears smudgy. We had same. It should be fine. I would suggest try to take 4 fingerprints and send the best among that 4... it will be fine. And for questions on updated vfs checklist, affidavit in lieu of originals, notarized undertaking for address, you can watch this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-coEqlYuOzuo.html

Hello Professor Higazi, thank you for connecting with us. Welcome to our channel. I would like to mention that with udemy business, the revenue increased more than 2 times. To be precise, on a course with udemy business, the revenue increased to 223% (i.e. an addition of 123% to the revenue). Additionally, it increases the number of students enrolled in a course by multifold, though few students just enroll the course but do not get time to open the course. No, you don't need to buy an envelope exclusively from FedEx for your OCI application package to VFS. However, there are some important guidelines to follow: 1.VFS specifies that only FedEx Pak, FedEx envelope, or FedEx reusable envelope packaging can be used when shipping your application to the VFS Indian Consular Application Centre. 2.You can obtain these FedEx envelopes for free from FedEx locations or drop boxes. 3.do not use FedEx boxes or tubes, as additional charges will apply if any other type of packaging is used. 4.If you've purchased VFS FedEx shipping (which costs $30 for both sending and receiving), you can use the FedEx Envelope, FedEx Reusable envelope, FedEx Small Pak, or FedEx Large Pak for free. Each application should be sent in a separate envelope. Do not enclose multiple applications in the same package. 5.If using VFS FedEx shipping, you don't need to include a return envelope. VFS will handle the return shipping
I guess you are talking about VFS issued mailing labels. In such case. Vfs will generate return labels. So no issue. If you didnot opt for vfs issued mailing labels, then you would have to include return labels too
If uploading the document digitally, combine both sides into a single PDF file (maximum size 1000kb). When submitting physical copies, you can either photocopy both sides onto a single sheet of paper or use separate sheets for each side. The key is to ensure that all information on your driving license is clearly visible and included in your application. In our application, we included both sides separately to two papers.
both parents self-attest the copy of the birth certificate to avoid any potential issues or delays in processing the OCI application. And attestation should be at the bottom of the certificate, outside the print of the certificate

Do we need to notarize anything other than the Affidavit form for ADULT? Also At the end of the affidavit page where it says ‘subscribe and sworn to by’ do we have to sign it or print name for ADULT oci application?
Tosif, following documents need to be notarized for adult application, 1. Affidavit in lieu of originals 2. (If applicable) Proof of address, if the applicant does not have their own address proof and is residing with children/relatives. In this case, a notarized undertaking from the person they are residing with, along with that person's address proof, is required. 3. (If applicable) If the applicant does not have proof of marital status (e.g., marriage certificate, divorce decree), they must submit a notarized affidavit confirming their marital status and explaining why proof cannot be submitted
It is a new service added by vfs. It enables applicants to just upload soft copy to the vfs website and vfs will print and use the photos. Or you can choose to send your own photos as well
If you are talking about govt registration form for adult, then the signature should be done in "signature of the applicant" under the section "declaration"
@@TOOSSIIFF 1. either you can provide 2 loose photographs in the mailing package. no need to glue or affix. or 2. glue one photo on the govt application form and provide 1 more loose photograph in the mailing package.
Nice Video. How to duly sign the minor's passport on page 2? Is it inside the "Signature of Bearer" line ? Shall I upload the minor's passport only after it is signed?
Yes sign on signature of bearer. Follow below steps: 1. Write minor child's name, 2) then signature of a parent, 3) then write (FATHER) in brackets. 4) After signing, then only upload to oci application. Hope this helps you Sushil.
Is minor child’s full name..? Both parents should sign or any one is fine,?? Is it blue ink or pencil…? For minor passport photocopy which pages should print..? Please mention the page numbers..

Hello Mamtha, When I had applied, I uploaded all i20s including the stem opt i20. It is safe to upload all i20s. Many people also had positive experience uploading just stem opt i20. But if there is RFE for all i20s, it would just prolong the application. So i would recommend upload all i20s including stem opt i20.

She notarized the affidavit for original documents on the same paper as it was having the place to mention the notary details but for other 2 she attached separate forms where she stamped and signed
It needs to be notarized on same page. Although it might work, it is not worth the risk. If vfs doesnt agree, they will ask you to send the document through mail. It incurs additional mailing cost and additional time. Try scaling the document to 90%, take printout and get notarization from bank
