Hello all. Thanks for checking out my content. I am a rookie at vehicle maintenance and youtubing, but I am primarily here to document the restoration of my 1997 Lexus LX 450 (80 Series Land Cruiser). I'll likely document some gun content as well if this page gains some traction. The purpose of this channel is for recreation/documentation purposes only at this time.
Great video. My 13" rnl is currently awaiting form 1 approval. What 922r complaint parts did you go with? Is it 5 or 6 parts we need to replace? I think IWI said the triggers are made in usa is that correct?
Great video! I subscribed. I have been on the fence on this gun, because I already have a couple Galil Aces, but what's one more? Huh? What part of the Country do you live in?
I’m new to my 80 series and I am curious what’s the deal with the caster plates, if I get the kit 2 inch OME and install coils, shocks, and stabilizer and I don’t do anything but highway driving, no off-roading. Do I need caster plates? And the tie rod ends, do you mean just upgrade to new ones or do they need to be different ?
Tie rods don’t need to be different, just updated if they haven’t been. Technically you can run without caster plates but you should correct caster angle on any lift. It helps the overall geometry of the vehicle and likely reduces strain on other parts
Having a hell of a time with my swap as the driver side bolt is stuck, and I am nervous about taking the mount off but you make it look easy. Thank you for the video!
good vid but...did you notice you have installed it the wrong way around? the outer shell should be on the LHSide at the triangle frame mount. the way you have put it in wont allow for water runoff to escape and will pool in there look at how the original was oriented
M8, watched a few of your vids. I reckon your love for your 80 matches mine for mine. Aren't they just AWESOME! Keep the detail in your vids. Sometimes you miss videoing or explaining a point that might be critical for those of us less knowledgeable. However, your explanations, like on your OME 2.5 inch lift vid, was SUPERB! Like me, you've got the 97 model, which here in Oz, we call THE LATEST OF THE GREATEST. We are guardians of these for the next 27 years... So you've got lots more vids to make. I look forward to watching them all and learning from you. Love your work!
Can you cover a video of Knuckles when you get to them or a video about maintenance and such. I have a lx450 that only one knuckle looks like yours I’m wondering how long I got and if I do need to tend to them do I just get a rebuild kit and how would I know?
I might do one, however there’s already a very well done video on them that I’ll follow. So I probably won’t make a video on it, because it has a ton of steps.
I did this to my lc. Pretty easy. Instead of adding body weights to remove the coils. I used a scissor jack and a 2x4 wood to stretch out the coil, pushing on the frame and lower axle. Good job man.
I put this lift on my 80 in 2003 @ ~ 100k miles. I removed the front swaybar, added a 1” body lift, and 4.88 gears. Perfect for 315s. It is now 21 years later and the 80 has 220k miles on her now. The OME caster correction bushing are still in good shape. I, by no means, am light on the wheeling. She’s been tested well over the years…
