Kyle & Raff are two dudes who came up through the Sydney metal scene, both having been involved in various bands, and are just massive fans of music in general! We decided to start a podcast to interview (mostly) Aussie bands and continue to share our passion and the insane level of talent that exists in the Aussie music scene.
New Podcast episodes weekly on Thursdays with ancillary content on weekends, plus Reaction videos Monday & Friday (and sometimes Wednesday) with more to come!
Audio versions of the podcast available in all the usual places!
If you're interested in an interview, don't hesitate to reach out!
Thanks for checking us out! For some explanation, we have to pause every so often as it helps to avoid Copyright issues with RU-vid. Also, if you want to watch the video uninterrupted, you can check it out at the link in the description :D We appreciate the watch and the comment though!
Late to the party on this reaction. I just got back from Japan a couple of days ago, and got to watch the Maids in Kanagawa. 🤘😆🤘 Glad you are back. You'll find the Maids do everything to serve the song. And letting everyone shine is serving the song. You like the bass, the bass does shine in this band. Other's have suggested "Hate?" OLV from the 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. I think you'll definitely love the bass action. I would not suggest the Lallapaloosa version as the mix by Hulu and the camera work is really bad. And since you're a bassist, "Onset" OMV, an instrumental, you can watch MISA do her slight of hand trick. BTW...no apologies needed. The main thing is you keep enjoying the Band-Maid journey. PO! 🕊 🤘😆🤘
Love psychopath. And they've just dropped another new one of the album called f* ck what you heard. Its not as intense musically as psychopath but it's very gangster political Ice T. He talking about the Democrats and Republicans. Message is strong in this one. And very relevant to now.
Noticing your Knotfest hat, the Maids played at Knotfest Japan back in April 2023. There's a short video of them playing Psychosocial because they were supposed to play Knotfest in 2020, but we all know how 2020 went. Clown is a fan of theirs. 🤘
THIS is Band Maid. Bestie is a good song, very nice, but unremarkable. If that song was indicative of their catalog I wouldn’t have Band Maid on the short list of best rock groups ever. Yes… ever. Thankfully this is more indicative of their catalog. Not only that but, IMO, they’ve actually done nothing but get better and better since this song.
If you want to hear Kanami's wow pedal...there will be many, and I can guarantee that you'll love it and it's best done live. 😂 This song came out in 2016, written for them but probably arranged by band members in large part, it's the most Band-Maid song written FOR them. You'll discover soon what a unique, distinctive sound they have and how much they evolved in 6-7 years since this concert. Hope you'll enjoy the journey. Sometimes you are happy to be wrong about a band. Glad you gave them another chance. Actually I am not a huge fan of Bestie myself. Live version was definitely better but I won't call that song my favourite. I didn't even bother checking out reactions for the song 😅 So practically this is your first Band-Maid reaction as far as I'm concerned. 😂
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all The Beautiful Queens Metal band right now in the earth. They are really really World class musicians. Phenomenal. And they have a lot die hard fans too. The song is "We are the resurrection" Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏
Thanks for watching! We really enjoyed talking with these guys. If you haven't caught it already, the episode prior to this one has plenty more discussion with Massy!
So you are a bass player? Excellent, then do yourself a favour, and us too. Do a blind reaction to a bass cover of Alien alien by Fami. Don't research, just set it up and go. It will be the best thing you will see today. So Band-maid done, now do the rest of the triangle. Lovebites set the world on fire live, and Nemophila seize the fate live.. You will never be the same again... Best wishes from France 🤘 🇨🇵

Thanks for taking the time to comment! We appreciate that someone who knows every band to ever exist. Got any recommendations of other gems that might have passed us by?
@@twodudestalkmusic Forgive me but I just dislike reactions. They are all the same. Say how much you hate a band and why, maybe I'll listen. But I've already unrecommended your channel. You're not the first.💘
Hey, we get it. There's a lot of "reaction" content out there that consists of people just sitting and watching full videos through with a deadpan expression then saying "yeah that was cool". We do pause intermittently to offer some degree of analysis based on our own musical knowledge and experience. With that said, not everything is for everybody, and that's ok! You might enjoy some of our podcasts/interviews, but even if not, we appreciate that you took the time to engage :D
so, official videos, official live videos, instrumentals, acoustic, fan videos, cluppo, band-maiko, you are barely touching them so far, no better band overall
Greetings from 20 miles north of Liverpool UK. It's all been said...'Hate?' Live is popular for good fkn reason 👌 Along the way I suggest you see them doing relevant and contemporary AF rock in their 'Influencer' MV...kick-ass melting pot of a song and wicked video location 👊🔥🤘🤘🤘
You are forgiven!!!! We MAIDIACS would have suggested BESTIE to you anyway so no worries! Also You can pick any BAND MAID song because there is not a bad song in the catalogue. MAIDACS motto: Your favourite BAND MAID song is the last one you heard. You can do a 3 month reaction to BAND MAID - they have 10+ years of songs. These are from their Yokohama concert! 33 songs 3+ hours of fun! Band-Maid has an extremely wide band width: One of the hardest rocking bands you'll ever experience, but in turn they can dial it back to a heart breaking ballad. They'll melt your face then melt your heart. Face Melt: "Puzzle", "HATE?", "From Now On", and the majority of their HUGE catalog. Heart melt: "Page", "Memorable", "Smile", "Daydreaming", "About Us", "Bestie". .and they do everything in between too! "endless story", "Wonderland",
Thank you for your reactiom. It is Band Maid doing Band Maid things. I, as a Maidiac like both your reaction, and it actually quite fun to see a start with Bestie. :) Have fun!
As some have said, BANDMAID have a lot of variety in their music - while it's primarily "hard rock", with many influences from other genres, they also do more traditionally influenced tracks, ballads, and some acoustic, and instrumental, songs/tracks, too.
You only have one tier on your page which i respect. Do you have a buy me a coffee or anything like that? I'll pay a lil bit to be your shurpa for the enjoyment of my fellow maidiacs lol. We love watching people finding our favorite band but IMO there is a bit of a sweet spot of an order to go through. All of that asside, you litteraly can't go wrong with any live video from their official page. Bestie is not a bad song... It just has an insanely awesome huge library over over 120 songs where it maybe cracks the top 70 (for me personally) to contend with.
Great reaction guys. Lead guitarist Kanami, set the stage on fire with this song. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid. In their early years (2013 - 2018) I believe they were doing about 100 shows per year, so this is why most of the fans call them a "live" band, they paid their dues. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid.
I agree with you - Bestie is not a good representation of Band Maid. If you like this then I guarantee you will like Onset live and Domination live and Dice live. Also two new videos Hate and Don't You Tell Me - both live - are some of the best Band Maid live performances.
"Bestie" is very much a Band-Maid song, but yes as a first look at the band it's not a good representation of their sound as a whole. The only song that would have been worst to react to first would have been "Start Over." "Real Existence" is much better in representing the overall sound of the group. Glad you guys are reacting to other Band-Maid songs.
Thanks gents. Kanami windmilling and Miku headbanging--I love it. For more Akane on drums and Misa on bass, you might like "No God" or "Blackhole" live (both double videos from online shows during Covid.) In the future you might like some of their audio only tracks. They are amazing live, saw them several times when they toured the US last year. Cheers.
You guys are fine. You know how it is......fan is short for fanatic. We love our Maids! No other band has ever, yes I said ever. No band has ever recorded as many bad-ass songs that I want to hear than these ladies. I can listen to them an hour a day for 6 straight days and not play any song twice. And love every minute of it!
